For 1984 this was mind-blowing.

I was actually really impressed when you didn't flinch when the Terminator cut into his arm. Then you were absolutely traumatized when he removed his eyeball and I couldn't stop laughing! Hahahaha....

The 2nd one is a must. One of the best sequels of all time.

You liked this? You're gonna LOVE the next one. There are movies that change aspects of the industry. Special effects, cinematography, style, whatever. Terminator 2 set a new bar at the time.

Linda Hamilton would go on to co-star in a TV series called Beauty and the Beast around 1987. It was a very popular and romantic TV show. Ron Perlman was her co-star and he wore special makeup effects that I think look pretty good for the '80s.

Not sure if my favourite line was "He deserves clean pants" or "Isn't there something about being knelt up against a police car handcuffed..or is that just me?"

Kyle’s feelings for Sara weren’t just because of the photo but because of what John told Kyle about Sara.

The second movie is already almost a classic, you should definitely see it to understand the complete concept of the Terminator.

The scenes where the skeletal Terminator is walking around is done a couple of ways. When you see it walking and it looks kind of jerky, that’s stop motion, a puppet moved frame by frame. It’s a painstaking, time intensive art that’s largely fallen away due to CG, but there are still a few filmmakers using it. Most of the other shots are full sized body parts that are controlled off screen. For the mid 80s, it works shockingly well and still holds up in my opinion.

When this movie dropped in theaters it stunned people. This was before Arnold was a big star and no one had ever heard of James Cameron. We caught it on a Friday night after getting stoned out of our minds (Don't judge :P That's what teenagers did in the 80's as a prelude to pretty much everything despite Nancy Regan.) I think we went to go see it mostly on the novelty of Arnold being in it, and I walked out of that theater asking "What in the F*** did I just watch?" It was amazing. Literal overnight sensation from that point. Always great to see the next generation watch such a classic.

FUN FACT: Arnold was originally set to play Kyle Reese while others were considered for the Terminator. This includes Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and even O.J. Simpson, whom director James Cameron turned down because he didn't think he would be a convincing killer (insert obvious joke here). However when Cameron met Arnold, he immediately saw him in the role. Arnold was reluctant because he didn't want to portray an emotionless machine, but agreed because the movie was so underground at the time that if it failed, it wouldn't hurt his career.
