Technically, this isn't a TERRIBLE video. But it is potentially a new series! We all know movie adaptations of videos. They're pretty rough. But how is the experience the other way around? How good are movies turned into video games? Well why not start with one of my all-time favourite movies, and the merchandising video game that released alongside it. Yes, today we are covering The Incredibles, and The TERRIBLE Incredibles Video Game...

Oh man, so it wasn't just me, this game WAS stupid difficult 😂😂 I had like, one game as a kid that wasn't a movie game and it's interesting looking back at how much the quality could differ between them - I remember Shrek 2 being my favourite (and one of the only two games I ever completed, the other being Happy Feet) and absolutely hating this one because it was just so difficult. If I recall correctly, it was also the only movie game to not have a 3+ age rating, being 7+ instead? If you want some other really terrible old movie games for PS2, I'd say check out Finding Nemo and Cat In The Hat, I remember having particular difficulty with those. Finding Nemo in particular is funny because the PC game for that was totally different and absolute pips to get through, being more point-and-click.
@bran3762
@bran3762 11 ай бұрын
It's not just you. It's difficult, and not for the right reasons. I think The Incredibles game is VERY poorly designed: -The gaps are often too large during platforming and you'll often not make it, through no fault of your own -The punches miss way too easily. Most 3D beat 'em ups have some degree of auto targeting for punches and melee attacks to avoid this issue -You get stun-locked by everything -They either give you not enough health or too much -The grab move, which is actually required to get progress in some levels, also misses very easily. You need to be in dry humping distance, or it'll miss. Sometimes it misses even if you are close enough. -Also during the grab, Mr. Incredible is vulnerable to attacks for a good 1 to 2 seconds, and if you get hit during this brief time (which happened quite often to me), Mr. Incredible drops whatever he's grabbing onto -The auto targeting, to throw an object after grabbing it, is awful A lot of movie/TV show based games are usually really bad.

Abundant resources, but no drive or determination to make a good game, no inspiration, probably no knowledge or experience. They're just riding the marketing appeal of the movies, and trying to make extra money by selling movie-related merchandise. That's what these games ultimately are: movie-related merchandise. I'm not a game developer, so I'm not one to talk. But, I feel like if you spend money on a game, you'd want it to be well made and fun.

Literally had to stop playing the game because progression was COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE. Had a lot of fun up to that point. It got so bad I even tried an action replay, and EVEN WITH CHEATS my games controls refused to work and my health dropped exponentially.

With the Omnidroid battles (at least V8 and V9), you can stunlock it by using running incredipunches, although I can't remember if the uncharged/meterless versions stun.

I forgot that this game actually existed, despite loving it as a kid. I remember spoiling the heck out of myself by doing cheat codes to unlock all the missions to skip until the last boss. My PS2 doesn't work any more so I have vague memories of the game. I do remember that some of these levels were unnecessarily long (especially the rocket one) and the bosses are pretty much carbon copies of themselves. Not to mention that pretty much ALL of the bosses requires you to throw bombs at them, making the gameplay repetitive and bland, like I guess those super moves were just for show? For Violet, I kinda wish they made more stages out of her since I love stealth missions like that, though the instant deaths were annoying. Elastigirl, Dash and the Pinball stages were my absolute favorite though, they pretty much compensate after numerous Bob stages. One more thing, I'm actually surprised you didn't mention the Arena. That one was pretty frickin great that you have to beat up wave of bad guys. I also realized that this game was from the guys who made Spongebob the Movie Game and Battle for Bikini Bottom, both amazing games, so I'm confused of Heavy Iron Studios on how they completely mess this up.

Hey I remember this game! They used to have it available to play at Dental Land I went to as a kid. They had it on these tiny tv screens with joysticks and buttons for controls.

I remember in the second dash level, when you run on the water, you can't die from friction burn. Fun attention to detail in an otherwise bad game

Don’t remember this game. But I remember playing the underminer one. But I don’t think I got too far as I was a stupid kid and eventually the disc stopped working. I really only remember bits and piece and a lot of it taking place underground. Also was it Mr. Incredible and Frozone you got to play in that one? I’ll have to look into it because those are the two characters I actually remember.

I played this game back in the day. This and that chicken little game had a weird feeling of “I’m not having that much fun, but I’m playing out of spite” I don’t even know if spite is the word. I didn’t hate it, but I wanted to finish it because I was getting stuck so much on dash and violet levels.

This review just took the words right out of my mouth. Exactly my thoughts since childhood. That game was too complicated for the kid. Hated Omnidroid and road-to-school level so much. Btw, I had some problems with the 2nd Dash level. When it came to water, everything disappeared and I had no signs where to go... That's where i stuck.

I barely remember that game. I remember figuring out and finding cheat codes. I remember disliking some of the levels where you were Violet and Dash. I also remember liking the last boss and beating the game. The rest is a blank though.

fun fact there was an incredibles game for the Leapster, an edutainment handheld console made by Leapfrog. I could never get past a certain part because there was an immovable boulder that I could not figure out. that was the incredibles game I remember.

I remember playing it on Xbox and having so much trouble with it(I was like 7 years old and I normally enjoyed playing anything). I couldn’t beat the final robot boss fight on the island, and I pretty much gave up. Really wish they didn’t botch this one.

We found cheat codes for the game and it made the game instantly more enjoyable with being able to grow and shrink mr. incredible’s head
