I am glad the book is around and now has more detail than when I first became aware of it. I am an inveterate reader so the question was easy for me, for a very welcome change.. I think one of the funniest things about the first year corvette is that they gave promotional vehicles to celebrities, to hype product awareness , and they had to cut off the bottom of the steering wheel to fit John Wayne behind the wheel for the publicity picture of him enjoying sitting in the driver's seat of his new car.

I know a fun fact about the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray when it was being manufactured. During the first production run, every engine was hand assembled. There’s also a bolt with a QR code that designated what was going to be installed on that individual Corvette as it went through the assembly plant. Not to mention because of the part restrictions and shortages as the new production progressed some of the very first vehicles received the upgraded standard yellow Z51 suspension without actually being a Z51 packaged C7 Stingray.

Hi Lyle great share I used this in finding my 1980 Corvette. The data provided for car colors - L82 vs L48 production numbers were critical to finding my car. The data told me if I wanted an L82 for the Hrsp I would need to extend my search longer and I wanted my car by the spring of 2922. I told myself if I find the right L48 so be it. That’s what happened and I’m very happy with my Vette. 😊 I love my car and have executed many improvements to her.

Technically, it would not as there were no 1983 Corvettes produced for public consumption. I am also certain that not every 1983 mule had the exact same options...they would want to mix things up to make sure every configuration worked. Lyle
