I'm blown away at how much information this dude can remember and recite in a linear fashion. Just like his description of the power band on a few of these "units". He speaks so swiftly that I have to repeat bits over and over.

Had a Lexus GS300 for 13 years with 235k but it had lots of small issues. The engine and transmission were rock solid. After we paid off the house I was kinda hoping it would break down so I could get a newer car but the darn thing refused 😂to break down. After a positive experience with GS, we bought a used Lexus RX450h few years ago. It's a 2010 model so it's I was concerned about a hybrid battery but 3.6 years later and many miles in it with Lexus bulletproof reliability I don't even think about it. Just drive and don't worry.

My E92 died at 120k miles though to the interior credit, the interior looked great. My X2 has 100k miles and still looks and feels new. Nothing....not a damn thing wrong with it other than tires and brakes.

5 years ago, I traded in my 2017 Infiniti Q60 which was plagued with electrical issues (including a faulty wiring harness) for a 2018 BMW M240i X-drive. The B58 engine is far superior to the Infiniti 3L V6 and the transmissions (7-speed, laggy old Nissan technology vs lightning-quick, state-of-the-art ZF 8-speed) don't even compare in terms of responsiveness. Trading in the Q60 for the M240i was the best car-buying decision I've ever made!

I traded in my 05 Infiniti g35 and and 08 M35 which I had for over 10 years. They were extremely reliable and never had any major issues. Yes they were older tech but rock solid and engine was silky smooth. Both were over 160k miles on the odometer.

@donaldbanner2185 did I need the CAPS? 😉 Recommend getting a CPO with renewal options to 15 years. If not, look up anticipated service costs on KBB prior to needs and use a certified independent mechanic. Join your local PCA for info share of local discounted shops, etc. Also, do your research so you are aware of potential issues with your model. E.g. Although the waterpump issue was mostly corrected, my 2019 4 gts is still a risk based on Porsche extending coverage for that part. Hope this helps!!!

Another good video! Happy to see some lexus cars in this one. We’ve got a 2020 ES350 with 45k miles and it has been flawless. Fantastic highway cruiser and I’m getting 31-34mpg at 80-90mph. Bought it certified with a maintenance plan for what a loaded Camry or Accord cost. Wife has a 2023 GX460 and I wanted the last V8 GX. The new 3.4 turbo V6 is total garbage from what I’ve been seeing online with one guy on his 3rd engine in 49k miles on his Tundra. My experience with long term ownership with turbo vehicles has not been good so I’m a huge naturally aspirated fan. Keep up the great work!

With that said, I really appreciate your support and its great to see that you have a passion for cool cares as I do. All great choices. The Porsche 911 is probably the best long term answer especially considering resale, and a 991 is an amazing car. FWIW I'd never buy any post-2000 German brand, unless it was a brand new company car that would only be mine for 2-3 years. Given the experiences of many of my friends/colleagues they seem almost guaranteed to self-destruct the instant they exceed 100,000km and/or the warranty period. In comparison my two Alfas (with a combined age of 65 years and about 500,000km on the clock - of which my 22yo daily driver accounts for almost 300,000km) have been fantastic to own and drive. But then again, I live in Australia, where we are blessed with multiple independent Alfa specialist (non-dealer) workshops that have been in business for decades, which even new car buyers can use without voiding their warranty.

There is a lot more to the performance of a vehicle in the long term than simply an engine that will run for a few hundred thousand miles. Everyone seems concerned with that only. A car gets old aand loses it's drive quality as the miles pour on. Suspension parts wear, the car loses its, shall we say, tight feel.

Actually Acura doesn't classified them selves as a Luxury brand as the did in the 90's. I am serious I had a 2019 RDX A Spec you call Honda not Acura. When you own a Lexus you call Lexus not Toyota. Don't ask me why they don't call them selves as a Luxury brand anymore I think it's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Also I think the TLX V6 has a major recall for engine Lock ups.

Yes it is and the C class is life or less the same, but they are a simpler car than the bigger S and E class cars and far less to deal with once a car piles on miles.

@@ECPP Hey Mark! The CLA 2.0 L meaning the OM 654(1941cc) produced from 2016 in diesel and gasoline as well as the older M270 1991 cc 2011 launch and more recent M260 are all Benz made. Don't give in to Benz bashing fools who says things like "The cla is a dci Renault engine car hope you know.." Those peeps have never even been within a foot of a Benz interior Renault only produced smaller 1500 diesel and to 1600 cc engines as Benz felt it wasn't their forte at the time they were trying to penetrate the compact car segment of the market.. I'm a big fan of the M256 in line 6 and my wifes OM654 diesel is so far so good at 12,000 k/m and now 4 years old. Only time will tell,l but the rocker arms and lifters may wear out prematurely. EGR valves and coolers as well. The heat from the turbo also causes the fasteners on plugs to fail which can throw a bad code or engine check light. It happened to me and Benz fixed it free eventhough the warranty was expired by a month. I rerally like your videos and think you're a decent type chap! Sorry for the long spiel
