Keto diet is not a placebo effect. I was 49 when I went for a blood test. The doctor said it was a routine test. When I saw my blood sugar level. I wanted to anticipate : if I lower it or keep it down I will have less chances of becoming pre-diabetic or diabetic. I stopped eating sugar, carbs and vegetable oils. 3 weeks later all joint pains, old injuries due to accidents, falls … and skin problems disappeared. I didn’t start the diet do get rid of these pains, I though they were due to aging. The placebo argument does not work for me. 11 months later I am still doing keto diet and I feel 15 years younger. It is worth trying.

I think he’s saying to demonise all carbs is too radical. You’d get similar, but easier to achieve and continue, results by not demonising rice, beans and spuds. Just cut out processed foods and limit fructose.

Not recognizing keto as genius, is a sign that he is dogmatic. It one ups his recommendations on all counts. Sorry, Dr Weill.

Yes if you cut out sugar, carbs, and seed oils of course you will notice a big shift in health and vital levels. But I think the point is keto is not recommended for long term sustainability, after a couple years you may start feeling the effects of no carbs (I definitely did) adding a few healthy carbs is great for the body.

I agree to reduce meat I only eat seafood, but the fruit theory he has is very controversial in my opinion. Fruit fasting and juicing are one of the best things to cleanse the lymphatic system and daily fruit intake has increase natural energy for me x2. Fruit sugars are so different than refined sugars. I’d say balance the fruits with ones with less sugar like berries and mix it up with your others like melons.

I feel like most people would disagree about Keto being unhealthy. He's assuming people are just eating bacon all day. I eat a balanced diet of healthy fats, probiotics, veges and meat/fish. There's just no need for carbs if you do that. There's plenty of fibre in berries, fruits and green veges.

It isn't correct to say a keto diet is low in fiber. I think they confuse the Atkins diet with it. Keto can be high in fiber. And on keto one doesn't have to eat a lot of meat. Mix it up with fish, chicken, shellfish. Grass fed beef if eating red meat.

I've actually followed him on and off for about 30 years. He looks about the same, chubby. He has demonstrated a lack of control over his body. When looking for the optimal diet, I'm looking for somebody who has better control over their body. The keto and the carnivore crowd have achieved it. Vince Gironda achieved it before them.

Brah restricting animal foods is not healthy, giving people more animal foods will help you greatly, by giving you more lean muscle mass over time, when you get older your muscles need protein, most old people die from broken pelvises from falling you know why? Because they don’t eat enough animal protein and therefore the muscles are weak
