Sky Williams was once a beloved member of the League of Legends and Super Smash Bros communities. Known for his humourous, authentic videos and collaborating with creators such as videogamedunkey, Sky Williams went down a dark and dangerous route shortly after he stopped making his bread-and-butter League of Legends content. From allegations of financial fraud, abuse, and straight-up exploitation in his so-called "Sky House", which housed many members of the Super Smash Bros community, this video explores the manipulative and toxic life of one of League of Legends' most infamous comedians.

@@LastTestament That and his irresponsibility with rules for the house. Should've kept a stricter eye on how people interacted with each other and conducted themselves. If he let kids rent space in his house he should've made sure that everyone could know they were kids, and repercussions should have been enforced (in a less personal way). He did that to himself trying to take up such an arduous task.

As someone who was in the LoL community back then, his channel was dead way before the Sky House stuff. Like, if the smash stuff had never happened, he would have been even more forgotten. Dude would come back every year saying he would start uploading again, post two videos, and then spiral into depression again. Dude was not mentally healthy, and it's kinda sad.

FR, I recall playing with him back when he was duoing with NB3 and it must have been shortly after that when he was basically done. Doesn't help the league community just started splitting. The numbers are there but seems like people are less and less interested in watching most people (except T1) and the community doesn't stay nearly as close.

Sky personally got grating to me because he deliberately cast himself off as "Gay black jungler" and kind of beat that whole gimmick into the dirt. Although, League content itself drastically changed around this time. There was that whole Skype group controversy of a handful of creators, Sky included as well as Keyori, RossBoomSocks, etc where they would promote each other and go out of their way to strangulate anybody upcoming or that they didn't approve of. But content itself kind of devolved into just how would I describe it? Lazy? You had channels copying Summoner's Code memes with a TTS app and some gameplay over it. 50 "Wood League" video accounts. There was an infamous tantrum video by RossBoomSocks more or less losing his mind that more people were interested in watching high elo player gameplay over his 10 turbo trash players in a rift match trying to emulate Le Dawg's League of Fucktards or something. Then it was just a slew of "THIS BUILD MADE ME GO 20-1?!?!" videos from streamer vods. League content creation lost its soul around when Dunkey bailed.

I actually ran into him in Overwatch sometime around 2015/16, and we queued together quite a bit and got decently high. I will say.. he was a bit emotionally unpredictable. I never snapped at me or anything but it was clear he had some emotional issues.

I was a Dunkey viewer and I remember watching his videos after donkey would play with him. It’s weird to have a certain view/respect for someone, not hearing from them or watching their content for almost a decade, and then seeing that nostalgic view of them get smashed. Glad I know now though.

I was a fan of sky too back when I first started playing league in 2014 and man that depression video hit so close to home. He truly was an inspiration for a while for me. Incredibly sad of all the BTS stuff that happened and the mental issues he prolonged and ruined all he had worked for.

In LA too many people come from hardship and adjust their spending to a level they project their income could be. The economy just gets worse when it's built on nothing, and a lot of people end up so financially strung out that they become caricatures, masques over sold souls.

I can add a little extra context. I was in highschool when sky got big and I watched every video of his even during the daily upload era. The reason his channel went on a sharper decline even when he started making better videos, was that he went from a daily release, to an extremely inconsistent schedule. You never knew when the next video was coming. Then he would take a long break and come back stating depression stopped him but he's back and will make them more consistently. Only to release 1 or 2 and then dip for another long period. This was right before the allegations came out. Also tidbit missed here was his falling out with dunkey. Those two were phenomenal together and to this day hols some of my favorite league videos together. But Sky took it to far and if I'm remembering correctly, Sky wouldn't stop flirting and making advances on dunkey who had a GF (now his wife) and it lead to them no longer hanging out and being friends. I remember the google docs releasing about the house and going to the sky Williams reddit only to find it locked unable to post or comment to it for what seemed like a year before the doc released. Unsure what caused that to happen. But did not realize Sky responded and made more videos afterwards. Once the doc released and He made the awful stream, I stopped following anything related to him.

I do remember him flirting with dunkey on videos but always thought it was a joke and neither guy was bothered. I never heard that was the reason they stopped working together.

Still can find the videos under the solwolf name tho Supposedly, he also quit because of mental issues as well. I remember he said he left San Francisco and moved in with his dad or some other family member for some time because he needed some stability and support. I remember he did one break the mean with a face cam when he was out there.

You can't help but to feel bad because in a way this reinforces the idea of "the road to hell is paved in kindness." You can try to be as good as you can but if you don't improve on yourself first and foremost this is usually the result.

@@in_vas_por8810 Yeah, it does call into question how he tells his backstory about being a loner and dealing with his father. Was it really just people (at school) randomly choosing to avoid him, or was he just as unpleasant to be around as he was as an adult? Power and money can corrupt people, but the things he did aren't something you just start doing one day by accident. Do you tell people you'll break their stuff if they break a rule, or do you create massive problems when you get woken up? Imagine how much of a problem this guy was as a teenager. Hell, there are laws against a bunch of stuff he was accused of and admitted to doing. I'm surprised he wasn't sued super hard by the people who lived under him.

This guy's originallllllll karma and morgana jungle videos made me want to play the game that long ago. He broke a lot of previous biases I felt about people with certain orientations as well. Felt very sad to hear the things that transpired when they did back then. Hope he's reconciled those things and improved his life.

I'll say this, as someone who lived with Sky, and was one of the "liked members" My guy was wild, his rules were insane! BUT! He barked louder then he bite. 9 times out of 10 he didn't do none of this. His money choices though, we tried to stop him. But, couldn't that was just unfortunate.

Haven’t watched this yet but hopefully you cover this fairly. Everyone at the sky house knew that sky didn’t do any of those things and would bark but barely bite. We all just want sky back honestly, and want him to keep moving forward. The last thing we want is to lose sky like someone else Also the sky house situation was terrible. It was a genuine planned character assassination by Jisu and others. There was a whole group chat for it and all they did was want his channel to die. He did everything he could to help people. But yes he does owe all those people money and he is paying it back. Even Samuelson; idk why the creator said he wasn’t. All in all, technicals video on the situation is far more fair and goes into further detail.

as you mentioned, sky has always had issues with his mental health. why he meant well most of the time, he definitely shouldn't have been in charge. his traumatic experiences beyond his horrible family that he has talked about over the years (a rabbit hole in itself) made that line about "being addicted to being the best" the most understated line of the video. unfortunately as mentioned, his views and issues around 2016 hurt that one-track-minded fixation and he struggled heavily with alcohol and eventually he could not handle trying to measure up to the success he had before. he always said how big of an issue he had with looking analytics after a video launched, so I guess he just stopped because of that pressure. I always waited I'll admit to being a big sky fan. I think he is hilarious and ha(s/d) huge potential, but losing sight and struggling to cope with that lose of steam he had, on top of the allegations, has basically killed him. I really hope he can find himself again one day

i met him years ago and got to spend a day with him and his friends at a convention. he really has a heart of gold. he really really cares about his friends and family. imo it just seems like he was trying to be someone his friends could come to and count on for a roof over their head and it really just got out of control and he didn't know what to do. as a people pleaser myself, i can't help but feel for him. i'm sure if he could go back in time he'd do things differently so it didn't get so out of hand.

At the time when shit hit the fan for him I had been subscribed for nearly 3 years. He tried to be as transparent as he could, without involving or saying more than he needed, but it left me as a viewer perplexed and mostly in the dark about what was really going on. Recently i remembered him, i even found him withing in my subscriptions; and because of that i wanted to revisit what even happened. This video, among others, really hit me hard. I felt so sad for what happened to him... so much injustice for someone trying to reach out and be funny. Thank you very much for making this video. It helps clear his name and bad reputation. I just wish, from the bottom of my heart, that things may change for the better for him and that, wherever he is, he may find true happiness.

In regards to the "no unauthorized visitors", I had an abusive landlord who used to be a close friend. I ended up calling the cops when I was moving out because he wouldn't let my sister come inside to help me grab my stuff. The police told him that so long as this was my home too, I was allowed to have anyone over. He wasn't allowed to restrict who I could invite inside. Now, I can understand kicking people out for being disruptive or destructive, but we were literally just trying to leave.

second time i thought about Sky Williams in 2 days, oddly enough. was talking about old league content creators with someone. hadn't heard from him since right after all the drama happened, the "my statement" video. wasn't really keeping up with any of the drama before that point though. looks like he dipped out at some point. thought he might have just been staying under my radar. he wasn't one i watched regularly. as far as league related entertainment went, i was more into MagikarpUsedFly, Bricky, FrostPrime, Kiandymundy and Darkk Mane... who i think is the only one still making his usual league content. other than that, i was watching informative league content... miss those days of content... one important thing you can learn from Sky's situation though, regardless of Sky himself: very often things go weird when you start living with ppl, even friends you've known forever. and that's just a normal kind of roommate situation. gamer/content houses though? lmao. i've seen frat houses during haze week more chill than some of them.

At some point, him being gay took over his whole personality and felt like that became the focal point of the content over what it originally was meant to be. I remember Sky saying he was going to pay everyone back and post proof weekly/monthly and he never did once. He streamed a couple times, and when asked about it he'd always say something along the lines of "I'm starting it next week!" then nothing. And this was years after saying he would do it.

I remember his video where he was so happy about getting his name legally changed. I guess the old saying, potential is just wasted energy. Is true. This dude could have been something great. I never knew much about him but I found his channel some years ago and his LoL videos with friends were comedy gold so i rewatched them all the time. I gotta be honest, I think the dude didnt deserve all that hate. Imagine the responsibility that is being the landlord of a house full of young people who do whatever they want like theres no consequences. It cant be easy, especially if some of them are your close friends.

13:22 I think likely it was something to do with a generational age group leaving LoL and youtube. Also If you look at LoL player count statistics the only year where there was a decline in the playerbase was from 2017 to 2018 with a drop from 100 mil to 75 mil avg monthly players which may have affected skys viewership.

Also, videos like this have been done to death and sky has publicly said that he wants to move on and to this day he is still repaying his debts that he owed. really a shame what happened to him. he was just too young and naive for what he wanted to achieve. the gaming house was a great idea on paper but how many 18 year olds can you really expect to be so responsible about things that this idea wouldn't get out of hand? he had so much potential, if only he was more mature at that time, maybe he would still be around today and very successfull.
