Hearing Anthony say “do y’all know Alex Murdaugh? That’s his son. Good luck.” Sent chills down my spine. My heart is absolutely broken for him. 😭

People, who seem to have it all, often lack compassion on quite every level. What a gruesome case…

In the state of New Jersey, if somebody dies at home inside the home or outside the home by law, an autopsy has to be done whether the family wants it or not. If you die in the hospital, no autopsy is required unless the family requests. It’s unbelievable that no autopsy was done on the housekeeper. May she rest in peace.

Imagine hearing they have a video with your voice on it that was recorded by your own dead son that you killed and if it weren't for that video you might have gotten away with it.... Brutal!

So glad it’s finally over, this guy lived above the law for so long.

The only thing he admitted to was being a drug addict. And That was for sympathy only. He never took responsibility for his thieving ways - that was the drugs, not him. He never took responsibility for all the deaths and all the lives destroyed. Only "yes, I stole but that was because of the addiction which I had no control over." What a worthless pos.

It’s ironic that Alex lied on the dogs; said they killed the housekeeper, but it was Bubba the dog who tricked Alex into speaking on the Snapchat video. Good boy Bubba, the dogs have redeemed themselves ❤.

I watched the Netflix documentary and as a mom myself it broke my heart when Mallory’s mom asked the police to let her see the boat and where the accident had happened they denied her that because it was a crime scene but when Alex and his wife showed up they let them step all over the crime scene and evidence. not saying his wife and kid got what they deserved but if his son was still alive he would still be living his life as if he didn’t recklessly killed Mallory so at least her parents got a little bit of justice

Alex never thought of modern technology, Paul unintentionally handed over his murderer to the police.

No one tells the story as good as 48 hours

You don’t become that rich and highly influential in the community by being a good person. His family has been corrupt for DECADES. Stuff like this has been going on in communities forever.

Gets caught once, tries suicide one day later. When that fails, tries to make it look like a random attempted homicide. Still failed. Gets caught again, murders his family as an attempt to divert attention SAME DAY. When that fails, claims innocence. Now a woman has come forward claiming she was raped and beaten twice by him. Do I believe her? Absolutely. And someone really needs to investigate the death of their housekeeper that. “ fell down the stairs.” and died. I really think more and more things are going to come to light now that the trial is over.

I absolutely cannot stand how this man continued to implicitly blame the family of the girl who was tragically killed on that boat, even in his testimony at trial. He is a piece of sh8t of the highest order.

This guy did too much. There are quiet a few bodies behind this story. Imagine finding out your husband is a monster. Constantly covering his sons mistakes…. His whole world was crumbling under his feet and he was trying to clean up but just made the whole situation cave on his head. This man deserved everything he got!

I do not wish bad on anyone, but I get the overwhelming feeling that every member of this family is where they deserve to be.

Narcissistic people are always delusional. I guarantee his “friends” and family would agree. He didn’t just start being a narcissist the night of the murders. The reason narcissists go unchecked is because no one wants to deal with them because we all know it will do no good and those people are exhausting.

This guy had everything and wasted it all. He will never see the light of day again. Appeal all you like, he will never be free.

Really a sad situation. For many years Alex, his wife and two sons enjoyed the lifestyle that came from his greediness and repugnant acts and finally because of the boat accident his financial troubles were exposed and in the end they were also his victims. This man is immoral.

If they would have done something with this family long ago many people would still be alive.

It's amazing how fast tv studios can put together an episode, seeing as how the trial ended just one day last week. Amazing.

If true, there's a reason Maggie's close friends didn't know she had seen a divorce attorney. She knew eventually it would get back to Alex. All these women would have probably told at least one other person until the whole town knew. She apparently knew her friends.

Y'know when they say "Oh he didn't look like a killer" about murderers? Well this guy *LOOKED* like a murderer. Seriously he's got the eeriest hollow eyed grin. 😳

What’s so astonishing is this seems to be a family of murderers. Alex wasn’t home when Gloria died - but Maggie was. Same Maggie that was upset Gloria found Alex’s pills and handed them to Paul (she. Wasn’t comfortable handing them to Maggie), Maggie refused to perform CPR and it’s Maggie sounding irritated on the 911 call for having to answer basic questions. We know about Alex and his sons but I strongly suspect Maggie was not a good person either

Not only did he accuse one of the other kids on the boat of being responsible for it crashing he then tried to blame one of them or their friends or family for the killing of Maggie and Paw Paw - despicable

Alex and Buster have black shark eyes. It's unsettling.

Paul sounds like he was a big, p.o.s rich kid, but he didn’t deserve to die the way he did. Maggie’s death is even more heartbreaking, she may have had to watch her son die by his father before being brutally killed herself.. Just monstrous. I’m so glad Alex was found guilty. I hope prison is the worst experience of his life.

So strange that he kills the one son and his wife, yet he was willing to die so that his other son could get a payout. Like the most extreme selfishness to ultimate selflessness. That's one effed up guy.

The saddest thing is that she was terrified until her last moments. I hope she was unconscious and wasnt struggling under water. This was just so tragic. I pray her family finds peace and comfort

This whole case has just had me In a chokehold. Everything there is to watch I have watched, I feel like I’ve read every article I could find too. It’s all so awful. And Mallory dying on that boat breaks my heart. She and I had the same birthday so though I have zero connection, I feel connected to her. It’s awful. Truly. I don’t understand why it took them an entire week to find her! It’s insane to me.

The jury got it right. Alex traded his life of privilege for a jail cell. This is all on him. Now he has the rest of his pathetic life to think about it. I honestly think he will take the cowards way out soon enough.

Nothing has been mentioned about the bar that the under age boys were served in after walking in already intoxicated. They hold responsibility as far as the law goes.

I just noticed something interesting. The bailiff that led Alex away the day of his sentencing was in the courtroom, as a spectator, the day of the closing arguments. He is sitting right behind Alex in a brown suit and yellow shirt.

I can not recall any situation where family honor, legacy and wealth endures.... it is a myth. Stop chasing the dollar - it is futile. Look what misery came to this family full of hubris and apparent invencibility. What a classic tragedy. If Shakespeare could get this story down on paper wow.

Gosh, there's just so many deaths linked to that family! You have the long time housekeeper that died... But was without a doubt murdered for money. Then you have the one Son who was driving the boat that killed the girl. Then there's the boy that was found on the side of the road dead. And the name that kept coming up from people in town, who they say was involved in his death was the Son Buster. Then there's the murders of the Wife and one of his Sons. So it's just INSANE how much tragedy and death is associated with that family! And he's just an absolute despicable human being! Killing his Wife and own Son like that! It's just absolutely APPALLING..... And It's just Satisfying knowing that he can't continue with his Corrupt, Evil, Narcissistic ways anymore!

This guy could have had a comfortable life without stealing people's money. But this man is so selfish, he sacrificed his wife and son to get sympathy and get more time. Everything he was trying to prevent coming to light, ended up coming to light anyway. But he made it worse by killing and stealing more money

"From day 1 ground 0 the effort was, what can we do to get Paul out of this?" Well Paul your dad did a great job, he got you out of it alright, but I don't think you expected him to accomplish that by blowing your head and brains right off your shoulders!

First words out of his mouth to the cops were "it's a long story." His wife & son are dead, he's talking to the police without an attorney, and he's running his mouth about "long story"

Is anyone going to talk about Buster flicking people off in the courtroom and notes being passed to Alex? They're so used to their evil manipulating ways they entered the court room disrespectfully thinking they can do what they want. Glad justice was served.

The prosecution in this case was excellent. They built a rock solid case with excellent witnesses and great cell phone data. They've definitely proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he did this to his wife and son.

Jury and judge were great. So long Alex.

The fact that the Murdaugh family didn't try to reach out to MB's to resolve the boat accident until the Beach family got the courage to sue just says a lot about AM and his family. Five shots to maggie and AM calling her five times🤔. This case will bring what's hidden into light like bogus death certification. Totally disgusting.

He’s not going to be in danger, he’s a top tier lawyer. There will be a ton of inmates hiring him to look over their case and try and get them out. There might be a few that get jealous but if he works with the right guys he’ll be untouchable. He will get paid in drugs, food, whatever. He will have protection because these guys want nothing more than to get out. So if he gets close with an inmate with a lot of pull/respect nobody will mess with him. That’s one possibility The other is that he refuses to help anyone and they say f him and he’s gonna have a bad time. He’s gonna be doing more law work in prison than he did his law firm.

If I was Mallory’s parent and I knew Paul got away with being held accountable for Mallory’s death, just because of who he was, I would want revenge. The people Alex burned probably wanted revenge, too. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night because of the injustice. They all must be feeling some sense of satisfaction This is the closest to justice that they can come, at this point, even though their daughter can never be brought back and those millions of dollars are gone forever.

I guess insulting the jury’s intelligence by saying it was common sense for it to have been 2 shooters bc there were 2 guns used…..backfired on him.

Not just Paul making the video sunk Alex's lies. Cash had to have mange on his tail for Paul to make the video. The chicken had to get out for Bubba to catch him, to make the scene of the dog with a dead chicken in his mouth for Maggie and Alex to talk about it to be recorded on audio. So, it all had to be in place with, Paul, Cash the dog, Bubba the dog and the chicken too. Take one of the 4 out, and Alex may not have been convicted.

He thought he was so slick that those jurors were gonna believe him after all the lies 🤦🏼‍♀️ And I will never believe he was on that much OxyContin, and It damn sure don’t give you energy

I've been hooked on this case since the documentary.

Most recovering addicts will take full responsibility for their misdeeds without blaming them on the drugs. While they may not have committed them if they were sober, they still committed them. It's an important step in recovery. Alex can't even do that right. His entire life he made a living at shifting the blame everywhere else than it belonged. Finally it caught up to him and he'll spend the rest of his days next to people who are far better than him which is more than he deserves.

Miss this case tbh was so interesting to watch it all unfold.

Every historical picture I see of this guy, he has a look on his face which says to me "I'm terrified. I'm in over my head. Why am I here" Every single picture.

Glad Alex was found guilty and hopefully, he never gets out. This is pure evil. I can't imagine the pain Maggie felt if she saw her son be murdered. Alex deserve to get what he gets in prison.. no remorse for him!!

Talk about having EVERYTHING and throwing it all away because of narcissistic decisions.

Maggie was right about Paul being the little detective, that snapchat nailed Alec to the wall.

For Maggie and Paul to know the person who was supposed to love and protect them the most was the one who blasted them with bullets and ended their lives, is beyond unimaginable. May they rest in peace, and may AM live a long miserable life for what he did to them.

I'm obsessed with this whole crazy trial.

I've had to watch alot of the trial videos and such to get more information. The Netflix documentary gave a really good insight into the most plausible reason for motive, in my opinion. Paul was a spoiled child, he was never held accountable for anything, by his father or mother. He always called his grandfather first when he was in trouble. If he hadn't of been killed, going to jail for the boat crash would have been the best thing for him. Alex was a thief, the worst kind. He used his position to steal from vulnerable people. I would rather a complete stranger clean me out than someone who promised to help me and acted like they were acting in my best interest. His financial crimes were coming to light. The civil action against the family was also going to expose his finances. It all came to a head. If Paul was gone, in his mind he was thinking he could get out from under all of the trouble he was in, even for a little while to move money or keep the civil action tied up with litigation. I honestly believe Maggie was killed to eliminate a witness, or Alex figured since she was named in the civil suit as well, they would hopefully drop the case out of sympathy. Just my opinion

The most frustrating part of this case is the fact that his name is spelled "Alex" and is pronounced "Alec".

He has to be the worst, most habitual liar I have ever seen and STILL lying!! He wouldn't know the truth if it sat on his face and started wiggling!! Ugh.. he makes me sick!

"It doesn't metter how prominent you are..." Really? Two years after boat crash and death of young girl, Paul was free, without date in court. Probably he wouldn't answer for this crash and death. In Alex case they have a lot. It was loud case. It was hard to cover and remove that all.

*Why didn’t the defense present evidence of people threatening to attack Paul / the family* _and along those lines_ *why didn’t anyone ask Alex to list all of the steps he’s taken to go after* _the “real” people_ *who did it❓❓❓* I would think that would be the main thing on my mind before and after the funeral… *that and protecting myself and my living son.*

The Murdaugh’s are not the only family like that out there. Hampton County is not the only country like that out there. Hampton County law-enforcement are not the only corrupt people like that out there. “IT’S AN AMERICAN CULTURE”. There’s more people like that out there. Those kind of people love little towns with so much power in their hands, the pain of others will be invisible.
