It's so funny that there's a feature called "traction control" that you have to disable to get more traction.
@MrAcuta73
@MrAcuta73 2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, traction control is for slippery road conditions, NOT for off-road use. Tacos have the same "problem", except it's not a problem, just an issue with user headspace and timing.
@mikeoxlong3676

I'm still not sure what traction control does. Even with traction control disabled my VDC can't be disabled and it keeps me on the road... So Idk what Trac control is for.

@@mikeoxlong3676 It supposedly slows any wheel that is slipping in an attempt to get it to grab traction again. The only time I've ever found it to do anything for me is when starting out on a sheet of ice. And not much even then.

I drove my 2020 ZR2, bison’d +, 19 hours one day and was more comfortable, by far, than any other truck I’ve owned including dodge Laramie 2500 Cummins and Ford super duty 350 Lariat single axle power stroke. The best thing though, nearly 500 mile range with 33’s. 1st gm truck ever and you couldn’t pry it away from me.

@@darryladams519 2500 and 350 “3/4 and 1 ton” trucks are “heavy duty” trucks 1500 and 150’s “1/2 ton” trucks are light duty trucks. I didn’t mean single rear wheel, I meant not a dually most commonly referred to as “dual axle” not “tandem axle”. Sarah always gives excellent reviews. @Michael Williams - coming from europe, diesel rules. You "talk" horsepower but "brag" torque, as we say in the clatter world. Sarah explained the price by pointing out all the structural enhancements. AEV has been top-notch for 2 1/2 decades. The suspension and beefed-up components are all designed for offroading. Sarah's review really highlighted these facts. [and long lead times = supply chain interruption possibly?]

I think AEV builds (not just the individual products) are well worth the money. Their Jeep and RAM builds are rock solid, beginning with their suspension packages which are always geared towards preserving on-road handling while offering great off road capability. I suspect that they offer a removable license plate bracket with a quick release if you want to install a winch behind the bumper (which is also made of boron steel, by the way). It would be cool if you could review their Prospector XL.

That interior is now basically unchanged for the 8th model year, and it's definitely starting to look like it's due for replacement. We ended up with a 2018 Sierra instead. It took a while to grow on me honestly, as midsize trucks are a bit more fun, but the Sierra is a workhorse that just excels at every task I throw at it. It's very comfortable too (wife approved).

We only had the 2.8 deisel version of the Colorado here in Oz. Sadly it's no longer available as GM's Oz outlet Holden has bitten the dust.

They are already testing the new colorado replacement with spy shots of the Zr2. Looks very promising. whole new architecture, interior, new rear shock placement.

I was gonna order a diesel bison, then opted for a diesel gladiator rubicon. Glad I chose the Jeep.

I don’t have a Bison; just a regular ZR2 in this same Sand Dune Metallic. Just wanted a smaller truck, since I’m not towing anything these days. Chose this after driving a Tacoma & Ranger. Quickly ruled-out the Tacoma: Horrid seats, anemic power, & outdated (e.g. rear drum brakes & pixelated center display). The Ranger Tremor was a very close 2nd, but the ride & capability sold me on the Chevy. 👍🏻🇺🇸

I wonder what the hill descent would be like without the robots 🤔, seeing as it's a diesel and the strength of the engine braking should be enough. Hmm. Anyhoo, I likes this one. Thanks again for another great review Sarah. 😎

I have never used the descent control. As you say in low range, the engine braking is fine.

I was hoping you would comment on how hard it would be to replace a turbo on this engine. I'm guessing you are one of the few people that would attempt it if you owned one that developed turbo issues after the warranty expired. Great videos Sarah!

Love how your reviews go under the car too, nobody else does it in such detail. Can you review the AMG GLB 35? I'm thinking of getting one for the unique boxy shape.

I love my BMW 328d. This Bison Duramax is one I’d consider, just hope they update it for 2023 and keep the diesel.

WELL DONE review...nice job showing viewers the real deal. I agree -- GM (Chevy) needs to work on the interior. Even the new Silverado/Sierra seats have paper thin bottom seat sections. GM always falls short on "something" vs making an all around high quality vehicle.
