Your unique style of reviewing powerslide was very refreshing to me. Even if its "not the content I expect(ed)" from a main channel upload, it did entertain me and gave me insights into a game i totally missed out on as a child. Also lead to a purchase of it on steam :D

Creative work is hard, and it’s even harder when you get a number attached to it, like it’s telling you its worth. We all know we shouldn’t judge our own work based off of views, but it’s hard not to. But for what it’s worth, I love watching your videos. Even though the subject matter is diverse, from explaining how something works, to reviewing and documenting an old radio player, they all emanate a fascination and curiosity, and strong attention to detail that I find so interesting to watch! I do hope you don’t fall into the creator trap and get burned out and too stressed with your creations. I hope you can continue to just have fun with it! We’ll be here, whenever you decide to share a new video :)

For anyone watching: something I have learned is that good motivation is always intrinsic, its something you yourself find rewarding. Extrinsic motivation never lasts, don’t do what people want you to do, or force you to do, or only do things to meet peoples expectations, do what makes you happy. A lot of people get stuck in that mindset because of their education, we learn to work to get good grades, to not disappoint our parents and teachers. Posy, and everyone else here, do what makes you happy, not what makes others happy. If making other people happy makes you happy, great! But its not selfish to do something you personally find rewarding.

I always hit the bell for channels like Posy! It bugs me the way KZfaq doesn't show uploads from my subscriptions first and foremost, opting instead for trending videos that have less to do with my interests, so the bells seems like the only way to not miss any uploads.

I remember when Segments came out, it was pushed to my feed and I enjoyed it very much. But I was in bed ready to go to sleep, and turned off the player as soon as it was over. I never could find you again. Then, Motion Extraction came out, and I locked in. I am always impressed by your ability to stay interested in seemingly mundane things, showing how beautiful and complex our world really is, but doing so in a simple way. Keep being your silly self and exploring your silly interests.

Your videos are the most entertaining thing this place has to offer, and the algorithm does not dictate that. It's the people who watch your content and all the good things they say. Your community. P.S. Watched your video game review the same day you uploaded it. Did not regret it. Quality as always.

I quite liked your game review, actually. It was weird, but well polished and interesting, like the rest of your channel. The thing that I've seen work for so many is just to create videos on the things they find interesting, regardless of how much they think other people will like it. Many of my favorite channels follow that principle, and it has worked to grow a loyal audience organically.

I think that the Powerslide game review on the main channel is the best game review I've seen on KZfaq yet! I think why the video hasn't gotten many views is that the thumbnail doesn't look good enough, barely readable boxart on a table doesn't talk about the game that much. Maybe it should show an in-game screenshot of a race with a car covering a big portion of the thumbnail instead, much more visible and may garner more clicks, but that's only my opinion. Try to look at other KZfaqrs thumbnails and videos to see what gets them popular. Don't try to make yourself at fault of less viewers on a video, the KZfaq algorithm can work in weird ways.

I can only guess how it must be hard to disassociate view counts from evaluation of a video. But if it's any consolation, Hot Water Colors was the video that made me think, not just "Posy is clever", but also "Posy is an artist". And that's probably the problem - we probably shouldn't judge art based on popularity or economics. Anyway, from one internet stranger to another - good luck to you, Artist Posy.

Since it just just a hobby for you, it honestly does not matter. Just do you. Yes the money is nice (and “success” makes us feel this way too), but by the sounds of it, it isn’t your only source of income. That’s when it gets stressful. For the KZfaqrs who do KZfaq for their livelihood, that’s when it’s hard, and they have to try and understand KZfaq and their always changing system (I have a few not nice words to say lol). Since it doesn’t seem to be your livelihood, you are fine to do whatever you want. I would prefer that from creators, be stress free, this is fun and your way to express your creative side, etc. but sadly, that often can’t be the case for those who do it as their career.

Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh 🤯......... Mate: What everyone recommending the true artist Meta says. Do what YOU want. Do NOT allow metrics to even feature in your feelings . *But* If you want to make money - or have the traffic that can lead to that: you must treat this as a job. Use your intelligence to optimise etc etc. And don't let feedback worry you, it's just about metrics. At the end of the day you make genuinely unique, valuable content so you could *potentially* end up with both - Bjork doesnt pander but she's doing okay - but if you want to have fingers left don't count on it.

"Hobbyist pretending to be a creator" and that's literally the best part. I'm assuming most of us that are here are just here for that, whether you pursue a career on youtube is another thing. It just so happens that you post things with a high standard, it's very much like Captain Disillusion or Technology Connections. Or even smaller channels like Aging Wheels and Dankpods. Unfortunately unlike a certain Tom Scott you don't exactly have the luxury of simply kicking back once you're big enough. So while I wouldn't mind if you switched to regular uploads, please bear in mind if you you're purely doing this as a hobby, keep it that way. It's extremely common for folks to get caught up in the "viewercount" game, doing things for the sake of content.
