"Drowning" is very often how I describe how I'm feeling as first time mum to a 7 month old. I love our little boy so much and am so grateful for him, I also have a loving and supportive husband and mum, but oh my gosh, this is hard and I had no idea how hard it would be despite believing we were quite well prepared. Looking forward to more of this kind of content Jess as I always come away feeling like I've had a good chat with a friend who has made me believe everything will be okay ❤ x

Jess, this is literally exactly what I needed to hear right now. I feel so seen and encouraged. Currently up pumping at 3am. I had my first baby recently and she's almost a month old right now. It's been so hard. I love my sweet girl so much but I don't love being a mom just yet and the learning curve is so huge. It feels impossible at times to learn everything. I know the sleep deprivation and hormone changes make it hard too. It also has been difficult dealing with breastfeeding struggles, postpartum preeclampsia, and postpartum depression and anxiety. We had some extra things thrown at us. I feel like the first two weeks of her life I was in such a fog and just trying to survive I didn't bond as well with her, especially after going back in to the hospital. I spent many nights crying and telling my husband I can't do this, it's too hard. Thankfully things are starting to feel better slowly. I've been a long time viewer. I love these types of videos--sit down chats, motivational chats, whatever you want to call them. They're my favorite type of video you make! You have the gift of encouragement and it's not the first time a video of yours has been super timely in my life.

I’m so excited for this! I’m pregnant with identical twin boys and the transition from 1 to 3 kids is something that is a little intimidating for us. We are so excited but I know it’ll be a big leap when they’re born and out here with us. Our oldest son is a year and a half old and doesn’t understand that he has 2 little brothers coming yet 😅

So excited for more content like this! The analogy of drowning but being given the equipment to scuba dive is perfect. I began watching your channel to prepare while pregnant, and now my daughter is 7 months old. It has been hard work! Harder than I expected. But so very worth it.

@@jess_hover I think topics like these could be good for many of us: making time for your relationship while parenting, budgeting for fun activities with children, more of Shaun's day with the kids (those videos are always hilarious 😂), mom self care, how parenting has changed for you at the different ages, the transition from 2-3 kids (I think you did 1-2 but not 2-3) and what to expect, how you choose holidays and what to do that's not too expensive but is still fun... I know those are all a lot but genuinely all are relevant to me still drowning in motherhood, I'd love the oxygen tank just about now 😂
