My sister had a surgery to remove cysts too. It was very painful for her and she had to take it VERY VERY slow for recovery. I know you(Erin) probably won’t see this but just know you’re very strong. I’m proud to watch beautiful strong women who are just fucking awesome.

I’m a nurse and I am literally dying to answer all of Erin’s questions about what she is experiencing and tell her how to stay above the pain. Erin, you looked gorgeous all made up. I wish Carly had had her makeup done, too. Erin, hang in there. Feel better and stay well.

Damn girl! Whoever said it was easy deserves to be kicked! The air bubbles are horrendous. I had my gallbladder removed. Not a ovarian cyst but they pump you full of air with laparoscopy(I'm only assuming you had this done). My doctor advised me to walk as much as I could, but definitely rest when I needed it. She said sleep and walk. The walking will move those air bubbles out of you. It's not easy and you feel like the weakest person in the world, but just know the pain and weakness is only temporarily. Just have your man do all the chores while you focus on walking and sleeping :) I'm happy you have such a supporting man who wants to do everything they can for you while you recover. :)

Omg I had a an ovarian cyst removed in November and whoever said it’s easy is a dirty liar recovery hurts so bad!

I have PCOS which means there’s a higher chance of fertility issues in women and also I have tons of cysts on my ovaries, we call other people with ovarian cysts our “cysters” 😂

Omg girl I had my 2nd laparoscopy a few weeks ago for endometriosis and cyst removal. IT IS NOT AN EASY RECOVERY! I had the same issue with walking and getting dressed, it took me over a week to stand up straight. You dont realize how much core muscles you use on the daily, until you have abdominal surgery. Foot rubs and lots of rest is the best medicine!!! Get well soon💗

Hi Erin! I wish you a speedy recovery! I am a nursing student and I did a clinical rotation on a post-op unit last semester so I have a few tips. Make sure you manage your pain so you are motivated to keep moving a little bit (doesn't have to be with purcocet - just tylenol, works well too, Ice can also help too, and so can some guided meditations) drink lots of water, eat lots of protein, do what you need to do to keep yourself optimistic and positive!! also this may be hard but try to make sure whitey- or other pets- dont get too close to your incision site to minimize the risk for infection. I love both of you and will send positive thoughts to you Erin

Erin, I had an ovarian cyst removed with my appendix (I had appendicitis) when I was 18. I literally had to have a C-section surgery to remove them both. Couldn't walk for a month, couldn't eat. Gas pains. Nausea. Ugh, surgery is no joke. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Erin! ❤️

I had emergency surgery to remove what was thought to be one ovarian cyst after I thought my appendix was ruptured!! I went through two days of test and scans and was told going into surgery that my right ovary was dead and being removed (luckily they saved her and I still have two lovely ovaries!!) but they managed to remove one HUGE cyst and there was another hiding behind!!! The recovery is tough and sore and you will be constantly tired for a little while and I personally really struggled with my emotions and cried a lot but I’m just putting it down to my twisted ovary keeping all of my hormones to itself! Try to do some walking even just around your apartment to keep your legs moving and eat all of the bad food you want because you deserve it! Wishing you the best recovery x

I have stage 3 endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome and had my first laparoscopy last year after 4 years of debilitating pain and trying every medication under the sun. Most doctors don’t like to perform this surgery on anyone under 21 if they can avoid it so I campaigned for about 2 years to get it until one doctor said she would do it. I’m almost 17 now and had my surgery a year ago. There’s still endo and cysts left over but the amount my pain has decreased (in combination with very high levels of medication) is incredible. Erin you have done so well and people just take time for yourself. I found that hot showers and trying my best to walk around really helped in combination with Chinese tea, soup and support from my mates (btw carly you are such a good friend especially through this part of Erin’s life). Love you gals and hope you feel better soon Erin

Hope you feel better Erin!!! I’m a nurse and I deal with a lot of post op laparoscopic surgeries and my best advice I can give is to try to walk as much as you can!!! The gas pains are the worst part of surgeries like this and the only way to get everything going is to walk. Narcotics don’t really help the pain and end up prolonging it so try to refrain from it unless you absolutely need it, try to stick to Tylenol! And take your time when moving around, you have to get used to moving with your arms and legs for a bit and not your abdominal muscles. Wishing you a speedy recovery 💕

Hang in there Erin! Peppermint Tea helps with gas if you’re still having any issues! I have Endometriosis and have had a bunch of surgeries that are done in a similar manner. If you’ve got any gas that’s trapped in your shoulder blades, heating pads help that, but don’t put heat on your incisions!! Edited to add: 1 week post op I usually feel mostly better & by 2 weeks I really turn the corner. Healing hugs!

I had the same surgery last year mine had black fine hair in it and it’s very common and mine was painful make sure you walk around b/c the gas bubbles will go up to your shoulders hope you have a great recovery

I had laparoscopic surgery in December and the gas bubbles were UNREAL. The pain was so bad and I feel you feeling like an old lady and barely even being able to dress yourself bc sameeeee. It just takes time to recover, so take it day by day and make sure you try and walk a good amount that’ll help the gas bubbles!! Wishing you fast healing ❤️
