Its important to self analyze our own character before looking for a partner. You cannot expect to marry a wonderful wife/husband who is humble and pious in their deen if we ourselves do not body that character. Good women are for good men, good men are for good women. I just realised that Allah swt lead me to this channel after I want to move on from my ex gf. It has been 4 days since that, I watched a lot of videos about Islam in this channel and made me think about real purposed of life, to please Allah swt. All these videos touched my heart and made me cry and want to go back to Allah swt. It really made me forget about her and Alhamdulillah thanks to this channel and thanks to Allah swt.

Living in the west, our view on marriage is vastly different to our parents and/or grandparents. We have a vision, a delusion of grandeur in regards to the finding of a spouse. We all envisage our idealistic spouse to be so and so but just like Mufti Menk has said, we don’t check a person’s genuine character or deen and once the whole ceremony has finished, we then find out the reality of that person. So go on supervised dates with a mahram for the lady and get to know them properly and vice versa. Don’t allow your parents to push you into a whirlwind marriage which will almost certainly end in disaster.
