What you forgot to mention was that while they were making maps and travel guides, they also came up with the Michelin Star system for restaurants. It's by far the most prestigious restaurant rating system around- some chefs have committed suicide over having their restaurant downgraded by a star.

"When you look at their tires, they are actually not that bad" literally every single super/hyper car is on a michelin tire, bmw m-cars, mercedes amg's, porsches, koenigsegg, bugatti etc. And all high speed and nurburg ring records are done almost exclusively done on michelin (except for the italian cars). Sure, Nitto and Toyos are good. But michelins are the real baller tires.

They look cooler on stance cars, thats pretty much it. I ran R888R's on my track car, amazing tires. Pilot Sport Cup 2's aint available in that size, and also costs probably twice, and wears down twice as fasat

Hi Doggepp, do you have evidence regarding Cup 2's wearing twice as fast as R888R's ? I've often read that kind of thing online but always read that it's false from test and reviews. Maybe a commercial is to blame for this belief ? Never tested R888 nore R888R so i can't say. :s I know R888's and R888R's lifespan is REALLY good as far as drift is concerned, but for regular racing it's seems pretty similar. "When you look at their tires, they are actually not that bad" Who the f*ck think Michelin's tires are bad in the first place ? Kid educated about tires by Fast and Furious ? O_o On the topic of Toyo vs Michelin : Cearly 2 different tires, Cup 2's and P Zero Trofeo's are the best but expensive, Toyo's are good as well but are half the price for a reason, those tires are much more specialised. They're really good to have fun on track but lot less multipurpose (wet conditions, confort, noise, fuel consumption, handling's not exactly at Trofeo's and cup 2's level either). Both are good, you juste have to know what you're buying.

Ehrm, not exactly. R888R's are almost exactly the same price as a Cup 2. So I was wrong about the price. But they have less treadwear. R888R's are £130 in 225/40/R18 - Cup 2's are £133.

I just mounted Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. They are a fantastic tire! I just got them this weekend so I will just offer my initial impressions: They are quiet! I have a lightweight Civic Si, so I have very little sound dampening. I just used them around town and the crappy af side streets here in Los Angeles, and they aslo absorb the bumps better than I thought they would. Also, the rolling resistance is unreal. Maybe is was my very worn old tires that sucked right off the line (Conti ExtremeContact DW) , but these bad boys just move the car effortlessly as I row through the gears. Plus, they make the steering feel lighter. Again, my old tires may have not have been inflated properly, or maybe it's due to them just having Zer0 traction left.... But I really like these tires. High performance with a long lasting treadwear 45K! Hard to beat that.

My SVT Mustang Cobra came equipped with Goodyear tires. One day out of nowhere I switched to Michelin when Sears was having a sale. Absolute the BEST tires I have ever driven on. Mustang never slid, fish tail or step out on my me, in wet or dry conditions. I can’t believe I didn’t switch sooner. Goodyear tires are trash. I only run BF Goodrich on my 4x4 (they are owned my Michelin) and Michelin Pilot Sports on my Mustang. I’ll never use anything else.

Michael S. Ask around - do some research - go to any tire shop - read reviews on Tire Rack . Com...I’d bet my bank account that 80%, or more would rate Michelin as a better tire manufacturer...The only line of tires that Bridgestone beats Michelin is with their winter/snow tires...Otherwise everything else Michelin is hands down a better tire manufacturer.

My 2002 VW Jetta was built with Michelin tires and they amazed me. As I result, I recommended Michelins to everybody.

Michelin are simply the best tires you can buy for a performance car. I only ride the MPSS on my PUG308GTI (still waiting for french brands on your website BTW FITMENT INDUSTRIES COMMON!). As a snowboarder, their winter Alpin are amazing as well, no problem keeping traction in the snow even with a 300ps car.

Bought a certified loaded camry se and it came with brand new michelin premier tires they are really great in wet and dry weather and I'm a Goodyear triple tired kinda guy.

i still think you guys should also focus on one of the biggest parts of the rolling mass of a vehicle...brakes...and brake manufacturers...wheels and tires are cool and all...and suspension is also epic...but why no love for stopping power?

i have michelin on my car and love the tires. Long lasting and comfortable. Also, grips like a beast..even in the rain. I was scared, but safe!

I like Michelin tyres... They are a good tyres... They have a huge background for performance in Motorsports... I tend to lean more towards GoodYear tyres, though GoodYear does not really have a big background in international Motorsports, they tend to stay more to the American Motorsports like NASCAR... I also like BF Goodrich tyres, though they are a subsidiary of Michelin... A set of Michelin tyres on BBS Racing wheels is a badass combo... As for the coolest cars, I really don't have a favorite, but I tend to like the 1967 Chevy El Camino, or the 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am... I also love the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, but this is because of the "General Lee" in the Dukes of Hazzard...

TVR Speed 12. Hand built, has a naturally aspirated V12motor, and is one of the rarest super cars with a unique history. To me one of the greatest cars of all time.

imo the coolest car in the world is the crossly farm o road it looks like a small jeep you can turn it into a tractor by taking the back half off and putting a plow on the frame you could also turn it into a generator, heat your house, go off roading, plow your driveway, etc

In Clermont Ferrand, where it was founded, they actually have a museum showcasing the whole history of the company and the evolution of tires with the actual tire that you can see. there's so much to look at in there, deff worth a visit.

I put a set of Michelin tires on my car at 41000 miles. They had a 60000 mile warranty and at 74,000 Miles still have one third of their tread left! It's not that I wouldn't consider another brand of tire, but the salesman would be hard-pressed to get me to go for anything but Michelin!

MPS4's are incredible. I live rural australia, plenty of windy roads and have a heavy, hi performance car. Grip so well in the wet!

I would suggest a smaller car with lesser hp, lots of higher safety rated devices, a good set of tyres... And most importantly, do *NOT* text and drive... Once you get used to driving, then graduate to bigger, higher powered cars...

finally! awesome video. coolest car in the world? I mean the first ac cobra dragonsnake, may be spelled draggin snake. can't remember... anyways Carroll Shelby's unpainted aluminum 289 that was never outran. ever! built to take down 396 corvettes and it did it. at the time for what it was and the cool factor of being European with a wood wheel and a bad Ass v8 and the fact that to this day it will still shit on any other car and is probably the most expensive car if it was sold
