*Includes interview with the creator of Tribute to Anomalocaris, Scorpiopede*
11 years ago, a kid posted a tribute video to a strange shrimp-like oddity. Now, he has returned to tell his story.
They said we would need it for the coming times. The time has finally come.
Special thanks to Scorpiopede for his time--I felt like his story needed to be heard, and I'm glad he gave me the opportunity to help tell it.

I relate a lot to kid Robert, beyond just being a "cringy kid". I had a pet chicken named Nutzi and coped with bullying by becoming fucking obsessed with chickens talking about them and Nutzi to everyone. So naturally I was "that weird chicken girl". Eventually Nutzi died of old age, my social skills improved tremendously (not related) and ironically I started to wonder if I was just a generic just zoomer wannabe artist with no personality, but Robert feels like person. So thanks Robert, for making me feel better too.

What you described of Robert sounds like me. I'm autistic, and though I wasn't bullied I had no social skills and nobody really wanted to talk to me. From all of elementary school to most of high school, I had at most one friend, sometimes none. For a long time my interests was Sonic the Hedgehog, and I would talk about him and draw him constantly. My interests have shifted towards hero robots like Transformers, Gundams and Megaman, and they're still as fervent. To see that Robert really is achieving his dreams is amazing to me. As a side project I do stop motion videos (look up "the adventures of Gundaniel" if you wanna see it), and maybe I can make a career out of these robots and these characters... just maybe. Thank you, I love this video.

I've had an on and off interest in palaeontology throughout my life. When I found this video, it introduced me to the time before dinosaurs, something I overlooked as a kid. This introduction has led me to learn so much about prehistory and sparked a fondness of anomalocaris itself! I've recently purchased a crochet pattern, so I can crochet my own very anomalocaris. People think it's weird but back in 2006-2011 times it was commonplace to get some pics of a thing/character you liked off of google images/DeviantArt, slap some Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace or Drowning Pool on it in windows movie maker (these days you'd get Susan 360 noscoping your channel) and call it a tribute video. Kinda a wholesome era of YT really, full of "gmod zombie apocalypse" vids where someone just killed HL2 zombies on GM_Bigcity. A lot of stuff people do these days to game the algorithm like red circles or making fake excited faces in thumbnails just wasn't really a thing. Also the comments weren't all just stale memes or "why is this in my recommended?" People still had dumb arguments tho, I used to read pages of that shit just because lol.

I think back then there was a much greater emphasis placed on just making the things that you love and expressing your passions as opposed to getting good numbers. I'll be honest, it's even been tempting on my end to do the same. That said, I like to remind myself that I made this channel to foster a community of curious nerdy folks who like games and movies and art in general, and I don't ever want to compromise my material just for more views. Man Robert's story really reminds me of myself when I was a child. I got bullied, not anywhere near as bad as him though, and it stopped mostly once I got to high school. But I was also really obsessed with dinosaurs until about the seventh grade, and I still find them very fascinating to this day, although my interests shifted and to be honest I find living animals more interesting these days, particularly birds (which are dinosaurs technically so I guess I'm still really into them). Like bro *penguins* are living, breathing dinosaurs that live in ANTARCTICA and can swim. That's insane. Anyways, I live in Alberta and lucky for little me, the Royal Tyrrell Museum is just an hour and a half drive away in Drumheller, which has, if I'm not mistaken, the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in the world. My family went there sometimes almost every two months when I was a child and it was easily my favorite place. There's a photo of me when I was eight years old sitting next to a dinosaur femur fossil I had found on one of the tours of the hoodoos. Of course, I was not the first to notice it, but I was the first in the group. I watched the walking with monsters and walking with dinosaurs BBC series religiously as a child. While I'm not much obsessed with dinosaurs anymore my autism makes it such that I do have very strong, passionate interests that many would find to be to an unusual degree. Whether it's linguistics, banjo, the noises birds make to communicate, the various Latin American dialects of Spanish, Jamaican music, I'm always into something really niche, specific yet encapsulatedly deep. I should make a tribute video to penguins one of these days.

This is everything I need in life. I was told not to research this lest I become an Oedipus, standing alone before a yawning void of hideous truth, then falling into the fathomless depths of blackest hell. Instead, it feels like I fell into a pile of adorable, fluffy and soft stuffed animals situated in a cozy corner of an inviting, well-lit room. Thank you ❤

That's honestly very kind of you to say. I genuinely feel very fortunate enough to have had over 600 people who saw my stuff and thought they'd want to see more. This whole KZfaq thing has been a truly humbling experience

@@themanicpineapple8772 I'm happy that you're happy dude. Me and my buddy found this video on accident when my buddy found the Anomalocaris video and this vid just happened to appear in my recommended and honestly I'm happy it did. I didn't expect such a amazing and beautiful backstory from a silly Anomalocaris video and I'm happy to have heard it myself.
