Colourful art and a player aid! Board & Dice are improving ... I really like Tiletum but it's crazy to that it has no player aid

I never had a problem with Board & Dice’s colors in games (we love them beige 😂) but I am very happy with the player aids for sure! 🥳

You can do everything in the game only if every player play slow. A very good strategy is to rush as much as possible, the full circle bonuses for the first player are huge. If this game is not tight for you that's mean you play to slow. This game is a race.

Hmm, I didn’t get the feeling, but it’s ok to not see it the same way! :) We did rush from time to time, and that of course disrupts someone whoe had plans for moving once or twice. That was fun, but it’s not super hard then for others to join the same pace (or go slower if they don’t care) and everyone ends up moving kind of the same pace. It’s just a bit looser than we usually like games, and in most games with a player driven timer, I felt more reasons to rush than I ever did here! Just my opinion and feeling of course :)

Interesting. It seems that this game clashes with your gaming style. You had very similar issues with Boonlake and even a bit with Maracaibo, 2 games where players set up the tempo. Those 3 games play very, very differently when one or more players are racing through the time mechanism to win by making other people NOT able to win. You both seem not to like this in games or simply not approach them with that view, which gives the games characteristics that you don't like (too long for boonlake, too "loose" for this one). Cool to see this and to keep in mind when we evaluate your opinions on a game. Thanks!

That is interesting, but also kind of weird, as I love many games with player driven end game triggers. I also love Maracaibo and really like Boonlake. I don’t remember finding this a problem in Maracaibo, but I guess we might have spoken abput it in the Boonlake review? Past Johannes has a better memory of that 😂

Interesting to hear your thoughts on this one. I think the balance of the contracts relies on the ongoing Farmer ability? The lower points have a better ability than the higher points cards ability? So its a choice on whether you want a better ability or scoring card. I do agree the game isn't as tight or complex as it could be - expansion maybe?

hi. Thank you very much for the detailed review. I`d like to ask you a question. As the number of rounds is variable, will it be played in near 2 hours with 4 players? Thank you

I think we spent around 2 hours with 4, but that was the first play. It will absolutely go down if you play with the same group multiple times! Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed it :D

I played half a game at UKGE age thought it was really cool. Obviously can't comment properly as didn't play a full game, but I can't understand why you'd be moving the wheel once every time?! There are times you really want to move 3 rotations to get a better next action or capitalise on a move before your opponent might take it! I'm really surprised that you didn't seem to do this often.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it :) We didn’t move once every time, so I’m sorry if the video made it look that way. I think we said that we mostly moved once or twice, depending on the action locations. Sometimes we moved three times, and I think I moved four times once :)

Maracaibo definitely and Boonlake a liitle less both have much more depth to them. This makes the pace of boat movement in them much more tactical. Maracaibo in particular has that option to end a round early when you are running out of money but your opponent is still loaded by big ship movements. Almost a take that element. It is one of my favorite games so am a little biased. As a result of this and the slightly dubious theming of this game (Netherlands not well know for valley and forest) means I will skip it. Yet another board game ramblings review that is in line with my feelings. Please, please do not attempt to learn better English it adds so much enjoyment for the English me.

It sucks when maximising is easy. That is how I know this isn't for me. Also that tulip scoring looks too simple and I don't see why couldn't place the tulips in an optimal way. Pass. I will stick with Castles of Burgundy.
