The last time I played HOI4 I quit for good because I was playing the Soviets and really struggling to hold back the Axis, really got into it and out of fucking nowhere Turkey declared on me and bought the allies into the war. I have no idea how it happened, had no mods or anything. A massive horde of Turkish and Raj troops poured through Georgia and Iran, totally destroying the game.

@@THEJustinOfAllTime WeMod is free to download and you can then enable console commands in Ironman. Also can use console commands “in multiplayer” if you save, load the game in single player, use all the commands you want, then load it back in multiplayer. Me and my friend do that sometimes. I’ll play Panama and he’ll play Bhutan. Race for world conquest with weapons from the far future of 1945.

I never understood why paradox thought turkey needed an entire focus tree to fix the broken military and then have multiple 70 day focuses to give you 3 airports 3 naval forts and some dockyards, meanwhile Germany is doing hermann goring werke and getting a bunch of civilian factories. They have to be some of the worst focuses in the entire game.

It seems to just be how they "fix" nations. Like how I used to find France really fun to play, because you start off with a load of debuffs and low manpower, but a lot of resources. So it's just a race against the clock to rebuild and reorganize before Germany comes to fondle your baguette. And then they decided to make France more "fun" by making the tree twice as big, but still have every focus take 70 days, so now it's suddenly impossible to remove more than maybe half your debuffs before Germany shows up and you get rolled over in seconds, because said debuffs mean either your units are made of wet tissue paper or your industry is 3 dudes in a sweatshop making rifles. You pretty much HAVE to turn historical AI off or do some cheesy shit like invading England in order to have a chance.

I found a mod on the Steam workshop that changes all 70 day focuses to 35 days. Haven't tried it myself but it sounds like it may solve your hate for 70 day focuses.

Language is structured similarly in some select aspects but general consensus is that it is not related (but some Turkish scholars act as if they are, because it's nice to think that). But hey, HOI4 alt-history focus trees are made for fulfilling countries' wet dreams so it does fit lol

Hey man, you formed turan! Good job. Kidding aside, if you do play turkey again, do it from the right side of the starting focuses going to the Kadro Movement. You get a compliance advisor when you get into the axis and do the focuses to the right. I agree with you that most of turkey’s focuses are impractical, but the path I just told you is one of the strongest in the game, believe me. You don’t have to form turan to use the land either. Your compliance advisor makes any land yours. By the time you are at war with the allies, you will have cored inland china, the soviets and the balkans along with the middle east if you act smart. Think about it bro, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a HOI4 game. Not plugging, but I have a video on the channel Professor Heimer with a full world playthrough. If you do want to see it, I can make an English one too, would be my pleasure. Thanks and love the vids

Also 70 days is pain when you want to calculate how much focus you can take before a date. It will be much better with 30 and 60 days focus with a proper identification to identifie both. So you can easely see where you going to be in 1 years for exemple.
