We igbos are one of the most educated tribes in nigeria but it surprises me so much how some of our people across the niger river and some part of rivers state deny their igbo heritage. Igbo language has more than hundred dialects but that does not mean it is not the same language. Infact in some local government Areas, there are more than five different dialects. So these people are mistaken these dialects to mean different tribes which is very wrong. I have this experience here in Germany twice, one guy told me his name is Azuka that he came from Abor in Delta state.To my greatest surprise when I told him that he is igbo, he denied. Another guy from Etche in rivers state named chilaka but when I told him that he is igbo, he denied it. Who did this to us?.when fulanis that come from different countries of Africa accept themselves, we that are not up to three hundred kilometers apart deny ourselves.

Igbo ethnic group is made up of clans with different dialects. Examples: Nnewi clan, Ugwuta clan, Abriba clan, Owerri clan, Ukwuani clan, Ikwerre clan, Agbor clan etc. Please use or tell them that they are an Igbo clan of the larger Igbo ethnic group or tribe.

The problem here is that some of these people never gone out to meet or listing to all other Igbos from the other part of the 5 states speaking, so they think their own language is different from Igbo. I am from Anambra state but when an Abakaliki in Ebonyi state and Nssuka person speaks we hardly understand them but we know they are speaking Igbo and sometimes we pretend we understood them, because they are speaking igbo Abakaliki dialect and I am very sure if maybe in the past in happened they joined them into Benue state, today, them too will be saying they are not Igbos

As an Igbo man I'm saddened beyond belief watching our Brothers who bear Igbo names, and speak Igbo as their first language, twist themselves into pretzels in an attempt to deny their Igbo heritage. It's kind of funny watching them except it's not a laughing matter. Every Igbo person, no matter what geographical area they find themselves, must never forget that the Nigerian state has as a matter of policy, disenfranchised and marginalized Igbos in the southeast geographical zone for the past 57 years. This was a result of the January 15, 1966 coup spearheaded by Igbos from the present day Delta State. When Chukwuma Nzeogwu and his fellow coup plotters disrupted the apple cart, we in the Igbo heartland did not bother to split hairs about who was Igbo and who wasn't. So listening to these opportunists try to deny their heritage is truly shameful.

Then I sat down and requested for bottle of water 💦, the woman started telling me the way the guy used to insult igbo woman with tears, I was hurt because she's my sister, but from her dialect because she spoke fluent igbo with me, I noticed she might from Anioma region,I ask her she told me that she's from Agbor, I said my sister and she responded with my own brother. I talked to her with love to pet her. But b4 God and Man, when my guy Ac was fixed finish and we drove off I started telling him what happened there, he said na me get time to talk to the Man because I too care, if na him, He will never talk, but be looking at them, he said that she acted to be igbo woman because she noticed am igbo Man with Swag, that if I stay with those people atimes will not help them. Because when their two especially those Ika people they'll be like their not Igbo's. It's well, whether the Man deny his tribe because of what He LL get from the government, we'll still moving forward with our own Blessings and favour of God upon our lives.
