I find that 9/10 people that hate the Scar are people that never shot or owned one…. Or know a guy that knows a guy who’s cousins with an Operator that said it sucks.. lol

@@corruptbanjo27 I wish all the piston platforms on the market had a bigger market/support 🤣 So the goddamn prices would go down 😂 Shoutout PSA with their JKL shaking shit up (although not battle proven) their 308 model will also definitely make a bigger splash

Dan, PSAs are under rated. With proper break in & minimal trigger polishing are as good if not better than other much higher priced units. At the range id see idiots taking their brand new high dollar rifles right out of the box & start doing mag dumps through em & wonder why they shot lousy while my PSAs were printing .5 or less & operating perfectly. Sold them to the morons & AFTER getting paid told them why they ruined their brand new units. No oil, no proper break in, no cleaning. Basic common sence stuff theyed know if they just read the instructions. Mil spec is mil spec no matter who makes it & common sence is worth more than gold.

I agree. I did proper break in, cleaned and oiled. It’s been in a case for some time so I’ll field strip it and give another good cleaning and oiling. Thanks for responding. Keep up the good work my friend.

@@danmercer214, Try dremel polishing the Sears. You can get rouge bars at any hardware store. It will drop the trigger pull by at least a lb. Also lighter spring kits avaliable that are easy to put in. My triggers are around 3.5 lbs. After a through cleaning to get rid of all the factory crap left behind in every commercial unit i cover a bronze phosper brush with a cotton cloth & use J B Bore bright to polish the chambers using a drill to spin the brush until the chamber looks like a mirror. Then run a dozen passes down the bore with the patch covered caliber brush to polish the riflings.( W the J B Bore Bright) Always unscrew the brush before pulling the rod back out for each pass. Then i reclean all that out. Final pass w a new patch is the oiled one leaving a micro layer IN the bore before it ever sees its 1st bullet. 1 shot, clean. 2 shots, clean up to 10. Letting the bbl cool between shots. Standard mil spec 5.56 FMJ or whatever caliber that peice shoots. I NEVER pull a brush back through the bore. Bullets only go 1 direction, brushes should too. Having a small patch over the end of the brush never hurts & prevents an accidental brush wire from hitting the lands. Might take an entire afternoon to do the initial break in right but the results are permanent. I NEVER do mag dumps. Just because one can dosent mean one should. Heat is a bbls worst enemy. I like the flash foreward muzzle brakes too. ( Cabellas) Birdcages just dont do it for me. Its the lil tricks that make the difference.

I was pretty set on a Scar 17 and then saw one of your videos about the APC308 and jumped on it. I haven't shot them side by side to compare, but purely from a quality and feel perspective, I feel the apc is a couple steps above the scar, yet they are the same price. I will say the APC308 weighs in about half a pound more, which kinda sucks, but that's because it's got more metal to it and that does play in the feel of it.

As a Scar owner, low SN, 14xxx, it's cool. But... By the time I got it to where I'm happy with it I have spent a stupid amount of money basically replacing every part except for the receiver and bolt carrier group. And please tell the viewers that pmags work but gen 1 and 2 mags should be modified for the scar. Gen 3, no issue. The 1 and 2 generation when loaded apply upward pressure to the bolt catch and raise it upward in the path of the bolt and can cause wear. Any scar owner can take the lower off and easily see how high it comes up.

Great video, love how you look at the high end stuff. Have three requests/questions: 1. Would like to see a high end 300 blackout video (B&T, Sig LT, new longer sig Rattler, H&K assuming that ever makes it to the US, and maybe PWS with the long stroke piston just to throw in an X factor). 2. What suppressors do you recommend with the Scars and B&T (both 5.56 & 7.62). I have both SCARS and get a lot of gas in the face with an old SWR suppressor…have been tempted to move to a flow through type suppressor to try and cut down on it but hate sacrificing the sound suppression performance. Any recommendations on brand would be great considering huxwrx, B&T, PTR Vent series, and possibly new silencerco low back pressure option. 3. Why does B&T not do full length rails? The rails are slightly longer than the scar which is a joke but the trends are running full length mlok rails which makes attaching the flashlight so much better.

Aesthetically the B&T is way more desirable except for the weight. I think they could take at least a pound off it without detracting from its usability.

Great videos!!! APC and h&K lack chromelinning, so my choice would be SCAR in USA and H&K in EU. I wouldnt choose SCAR in EU because the price is over the top because of the import, fees.

What about use in home/property defensive situation? Would the APC in an SBR config make sense or is that “overkill” vs going with a PPC (which B&T started with)? The classic using your handgun to fight your way to your rifle. What should that rifle be?
