I own and shoot a Beretta 92 and Sig P229 Legion. Love them both. I just enjoy heavy DA/SA guns. Both guns are accurate, easy to maintain, handle and they are dependable. I really can’t pick one over the other

I'd honestly switch the first rifle with the IWI Zion. It's a perfect middle of the road AR that isn't a budget mystery brand of questionable reliability and also isn't Daniel Defense where you're paying for the name. I've seen some for just under 900 dollars. They recoil very little compared to other budget rifles I've had trigger time with.
@breed4659

You sound like every other guy in the world that can't afford a Daniel. While I agree the z-15 is a great budget rifle, I don't believe that you or anybody else would take one over a Daniel, if price was equal. So clearly you're not just paying for a name, you're paying for a product is unanimously recognized as head and shoulders above a zion. So instead of trashing Daniels, just say "I like the zion"

@@breed4659DD rifles are overrated and a little overpriced. Truly, the best AR-15 that money can buy (which isn't even the most expensive of them all) is the Blackout Defense Quantum rifle. The best trigger ever, amazing build quality, reliability, sub MOA accuracy despite being a gun that's as durable as a DD if not more so, better ergos and furniture, etc. $2200 to $2400 for a custom rifle that'll blow anything out of the water. They're planning on adding some new calibers soon which is cool too.

While it's not the Shadow 2, the P-07 also has internal rails. I own both, love both - BUT - the P-07 needed the CGW trigger upgrade for me to like it enough to carry. The reset overtravel drove me nuts, everything else? Perfect. CZ Shadow 2 comes perfectly out of the box, just mentioning this for those who may be on a budget. P-07 is fantastic, and affordable.

You’re spot on with B&T APC556. All B&T’s come in the country as pistols so it’s not that difference from the acp223 but there’s a pretty big difference. The flat trigger out of that company probably should have been the curved one but it’s the best trigger in the industry if you ask me. Bren 2 is #2 for sure. As far as pistols, I’ve carried an sig 228 since they came out and have several 229’s 226’s, & 239’s. They are probably the best work horse guns you can get. They will never fail!

As far as a 5.56 the Robinson M96 is such an exceptional rifle. The 16 inch barrel Recon model is quick release and that aids in cleaning. The gas adj system makes it super reliable and soft shooting. The side charging handle is super smooth. Yes its a close clone to the Stoner 63 and that is the wow factor. Why no military picked this rifle makes no sense to me. Rugged, beautiful and very reliable. Pistol wise the Para Ordinance 45 ACP 1911s like the 14/45 and Para SSP are outstanding too.

@anthonymartorano934
@anthonymartorano934 3 ай бұрын
@@matthewbeaver5026 yes temporarily it was my first 92 and left a bad taste in my mouth from the experience. Cerakote on takedown lever was starting to come off on a friction point after taking it apart twice, the slide would get stuck taking it apart from the cerakote being a bit thick but that would work itself out with wear and time, the pin on the frame mounted safety backing out and deforming the pin and scratching half the length of the slide and for a single action with dlc parts when you got to the wall it was very gritty/ crunchy before the break even after about 1,200 rounds however a trained gunsmith said that should work itself out. I’ll probably come back around and get a older 92 or m9a3 or m9a4 because I love the looks, the pop culture and Military history and the way the slide felt when firing. (Edit) I also thought I’d enjoy the frame mounted safety but with how tall it is if you rack the slide from the rear serrations your fingers hit and either stop or drag on the safety because it comes up higher than it needs to.

With the 10 rnd mags, it is more concealable than my 43x, and when I put the 4" threaded barrel with a comp and the full size grip ext with a +6 mag ext I get a 21 rnd full size pistol. The trigger is the best on the market, the ego's are insane, and it is 100% reliable. A gun that can fit all needs from duty to ccw.

What is funny is that I have been wanting the newer updated and improved versions. Specifically exactly those you presented. Maybe a different color or the s version of the canik. Also, you must try the 45 blast compensator. It makes the gun shoot so flat you won't believe it. Plus it looks like a gun from robocop. Very intimidating.

Absolutely agree with the Beretta 92 / M9. 20 years in the Army, so really familiar with this platform, and it was my first firearm purchase. Based on the same reason, I don’t agree with the non-standard ARs. They may be cool and really ergonomic, but I question the reliability, and the cost / benefit over a good AR is just not there IMHO. Guess I’m just familiar with the old school AR-15. I’ve shot and liked the Canik, but I prefer the M&P 2.0. I have a Compact and Full size currently, and plan to get a Shield Plus OR to round out my collection!

It's a bit of a niche weapon, but for those whom it serves, the Bul SAS II is clearly a next level sub-compact. It shoots softer and better than some full sized handguns.

Mag-Na-Port quad ported it for me.Then installed a Carver Custom HEAVY tungsten non captured spring guide rod with a 17 pound recoil spring to fit on it. C&H Precision aluminum mounting plate upgrade for my Holosun 508T solar backup red dot. Installed X/S optic height steel tritium night sights and an Apex aluminum flat trigger to replace the plastic flat trigger. Floyd’s Custom had a flared aluminum magazine attachment and replacement aluminum base plates to add one round without changing the magazine spring. Had to install a Pachmyer slip on rubber grip over the abrasive grip texture as it was rubbing on my shirt and coat so much it was abrading the cloth. It doesn’t cover the whole grip but it helps some. Was hell trying to slip it on. Had to remove the back strap and slid it on and roll it up like a sock to the top of the grip. Reinserted the back strap and rolled the slip on rubber grip down into place. I love my M&P 2.0 10mm!!!

I'm always inclined to overspend to try and get the best firearm I can get. To me, and my budget there's just not enough price difference between top of the line and "value" options. However, that's not entirely true of optics. I simply can't justify paying for some top tier optics because there seems to be too much of a price difference between the best and the value choices and not enough functional difference to justify the expense.

B&T’s are beautifully made. My APC300 is definitely nicer than my SCAR 17.
@SquallWulfhart
@SquallWulfhart 3 ай бұрын
Which do you prefer to use? I'm looking at getting one or the other at the moment. I'm a sucker for Swiss stuff but was leaning towards the scar17 because it is listed as being a fair bit lighter, and that's important to me. Been able to handle the scar but no one has B&T in stock around here.
@Bad_Rattle

@@SquallWulfhart Can’t say I have a preference. The APC300 serves in CQB role. The 17 is my mid to long range go to. The overall fit and finish of the APC is better but I’ve never had an issue with my 17. I’d love to shoot a APC308 to compare with a 17. The APC line feels like a product improved SCAR.

I know several people that shoot Canik Rival's in Carry Optics and they have proven to be superbly reliable and consistent. With that trigger out the box, I believe they represent an amazing option...if you like that Canik/Sig p320 uber-high barrel plane and the muzzle rise that it causes. I do not and that's my reason for just saying no to Canik.

Are we talking wants or needs??? If your a collector everything you mentioned is nice. But from a logistics standpoint they're not very practical choices. If you ever have to use them in a long term serious situation with availability of parts and such being zilch will be impossible. So from a practical logistical and combat proven stand point a good old direct impingement AR-15 in the 20 inch variety and a Betetta M9A1.

My Sister has the 229 Elite and I hate that gun. The grip texture is so aggressive and the shape of it makes it so I cannot shoot 2 mags without it eating the skin off the inside knuckle of my thumb. It was disappointing because it is an awesome gun.

i feel that if you want a rifle to protect your family youre going to need to spend 1000 at a minimum. sadly with firearms you get what you pay for. thats not to say you cant get some decent stuff for cheap, but in my experience the reliability of a more expensive firearm is paramount.

Man only has 2 arms. All a man needs is this loadout: 1 rifle. 5.56 is the easiest to locate and most abundant in USA (I suggest iwi Zion) 1. Side arm. 9mm. Again easy and abundant. (I would go Glock in 9mm…you choose model from here….capacity and how it feels in hand are 2 major factors….remember Glock goes BANG!) 1 12ga shotgun again easy to find and abundant. Walmart still sells 12ga ammo!! (My pick is mossberg 590a1 as it is pump reliability over semi auto….and the 590a1 has the mil spec heavy barrel, and at 18” is about as short as a pump shotgun can be! Unless you go shockwave (590S) but that’s a wild gun to shoot! From these suggestions forward, just stock up on ammo!!! 5.56/9mm/12ga. Simple, effective…and zero overages in money spent or weapons owned. Remember, the weapon you own that isn’t ON you can be used against you! Why arm the enemy?

Classic Firearms couldn't even get theirs to fire on a recent battle rifle comparison video. The Sig 516 has been a dead gun for years. Sig abandoned it and replacement parts are a gamble. If I wanted a better version of that, I'd go with the Caracal. Same engineer from 416 to 516 to 816.

Great premise. Cheap buys better guns! Hahaha! One gets what one pays for in this world. My most expensive rifle (way better than your first choice!) is my best and most favorite rifle. Amazingly enough my favorite and best performing pistol is the most expensive. If you guys think your lives are worth less than $1000, keep buying cheap crap that fails. My family's and my own life is worth waaay more than a stack of expensive rifles. If yours is not, sorry for you and your family!
