Love your work. Keep it up. Agree my P365 XL is a great balance of concealment and shootability. I did upgrade mine with a Ram Tactical trigger which is absolutely amazing. I was a little surprised not to see the H&K VP9 SK or the Walther PPQ on the list. The H&K VP9 SK is an amazing gun out of the box. The trigger and ergonomics make it perhaps my favorite out of the box shooter. Of course, it comes at a higher price point than any of the guns in this video.

Your definitely one of the few honest reviewers out there. I started out with the p320 .45 cal, which I still have but now I carry the xten 10mm which is weird to most but we take walks regularly so I wanted more of a bear gun with high capacity. I've just got used to carrying it everyday.

Oh - Two things I don't like about Shield Plus: the serrations are GARBAGE, especially the front; the manual thumb safety is impossible to manipulate, and (for me) in an awkward, grip-wrecking position even if it were easy to use. That's why I bought mine NTS.

I have an image of extreme poverty when it comes to customer service when it comes to Taurus. I helped in a gun store locally owned by my best friend and I put in 24 to 32 hours a week for 4+ years. If you had a problem with a Taurus it could take longer than a year to get them to correct a problem from the factory. We had a revolver that after 18 months it was still at the factory with no resolution at all. Do you want to pay for a revolver that is not available to you for that long? They might be better but that left a sour taste in my mouth for any handgun from this company. The “G” series seemed to be better but felt cheap compared to their competitors for these guys. The always had “a sloppy feel”

New shooter here; tall, slender middle-aged female. I did a ton of research - my goal being a truly shootable gun I can conceal carry. Finally purchased a Shield Plus, NTS, night sights (white-dot not great for my old eyes), and optics ready in case I decide to go with a red dot. I'm thrilled with your review of my new gun. Of course, now I want a Hellcat Pro and a Taurus GX4. 🤣 Hope your back surgery goes well. Just a thought here ... My husband developed a bad back and four groin hernias. We switched to aikido diet and he lost 40 pounds; went hardcore and switched to Carnivore (ONLY fattyy meat, fish, eggs, butter, heavy cream and full fat cheese). He lost and has maintained another 10 pounds. Diet is absolutely everything. Ditch the carbs in ANY FORM. Thanks for the information you provide.

Thanks for this video. I've always liked your videos with well thought-out opinions. That said, I recently got a surprise after conceal carrying for 7 years. My situation is that I'm a bit of a slim build (6', 155lbs), so I don't have a lot of room/padding to 3:30-4 O'Clock carry. So, I've stuck with a small single-stack. In my case, it's been a Walther PPS/M1 since I'm a paddle-release guy. This has been the case for 5 plus years and I've been happy. Recently I ran across a PPQ/SC at price I couldn't refuse, despite me not thinking I could CC it given it's Glock 26 profile plus the button mag release. When I got home with it, I decided to give it a try and was shocked at how well it fit me! I ordered a pinkie extension mag and now, it's my everyday carry. So, you never know!

Noob here, still think the gun will go off carrying appendix, trying to get over the fear and not rock a safety, that I would more than likely forget to disengage, if god forbid I had to use it in a self defense situation. I CC the P365 non comped Macro. Been shooting for a long time, been CCing for 2 months.

Are you a liberal? Typically they're always fearful. Learn the mechanics of a semi auto pistol and you'll see it cannot fire unless the trigger is pulled. If you carry in a kydex holster the trigger is fully covered and impossible to pull the trigger. I've been carrying appendix everyday for 16 years and never have any type of fear.

I agree that the Shield Plus is one of the best I've ever shot. Don't know if you've tried it, but I also highly suggest the Kimber Mako. I cannot choose between the two! Serious questions that I hope you'll (or others) will respond to: the original Hellcat had way too much recoil for me. Does the pro have less recoil? I might consider going back to it if so. Also, I absolutely hate Taurus from my experience, but that was quite a few years ago. Have they improved that much that they're better nowadays? Might consider trying one again if so. Thanks for your videos and hope you recover soon!

I guess I'm the contrarian here. My wife and I rented the Shield Plus at the local shooting range. Both of us absolutely hated the Shield Plus. I was thinking it, but didn't say anything till she did. It fits nicely in the hand, but there is absolutely nothing to love about the trigger. It sucks, it's positioning sucks, and it's genuinely awkward to pull. I cannot understand how anyone can brag about that trigger, but hey, to each his own. Perhaps our example was just a lemon. My wife carries the Sig P365XL Rose and I carry a Canik MC9, both of which completely humble the Shield Plus, in our opinion. My sisters has a model 43 and it shoots much nicer than S&W, too, and was more accurate. Have to admit that accuracy might have simply been a function of how horrible the trigger was in the example of the Shield we shot. I just cannot explain you liking that trigger so much beyond just a personal preference. Sounds like you're just a Shield guy. And I don't know why it is that all of these intelligent human beings have such an issue with the grip angle, especially with iron sights. Streamers make it so much more of a big deal than it is. I think that's a damned shame, as your actually teaching a limitation. OMG, the Glock trigger has some stacking? Every striker fired pistol has stacking, every one of them. People feel what they want to feel based on their preferences. Now, to point out the what we all already know. Since every youtube streamer is a capacity whore who feel ill prepared if they don't have 30-rounds in the gun and 12 backup mags, this entire comparison is pointless. Next, since suddenly the 43X is too big for concealment...maybe not, the Shield+ is just smaller and easier to conceal, and for this video's purposes, that makes it better. So, why aren't you comparing a 43, which is more compact and concealable that virtually any other micro 9mm? Oh yeah, we come back to the capacity thing. Listen to 18:00 to hear more clear signs of the preference...'from the very beginning'. Like I said, sounds like you're just a Shield guy. Bro, there is nothing that would have made you like the 43x more. But I will give you some props for one thing: you shot them as they are and didn't immediately put a dot and mini flashlight from the he man club on them both. You can actually shoot irons, which many popular streamers cannot.

I don't get the big draw towards Gloc. For me they aren't very comfortable in regards to fit in my hands. My first pistol was a Springfield xdm elite. Not very customizable, but it's accurate and reliable. I have yet to decide what carry gun I'm going to go with. I'm leaning towards the x macro.

Great video. I carried the p365 for several years, then switched to a Hellcat Pro primarily for capacity. I love that gun…at the range. Carrying it did not work for me. The stippling was rubbing the flesh right off my love handles. I then switched to the 43x with 15rd Shield mags. Good gun, I shoot well with it…. It’s just not great, it’s big (comparatively), and the known possibility of failures with the Shield mags had me uncomfortable with carrying it. I’m back to the p365. You can’t have everything, so I chose reliability, 10+1 capacity, great concealabity, and a good trigger over 15 rounds that “should” work reliably.

You can get 15 round mags from PSA that will work in your 43, they use them in their micro Dagger and a lot of people use them for their Glock.

@@CajunMFN I’m aware. The PSA mags are also “mostly” reliable. Search “PSA Micro mag fix” and watch a couple of the videos. Again, your choices with the 43x are 1) very reliable 10-rd mags, or 2) mostly reliable 15-rd mags.

I totally get that. My spouse carries a P365XL, and I can NOT do quick mag swaps--I have large hands, and the 12-round magazine is just too short. Great piece otherwise, though. I typically carry a CZ PCR, but I've been experimenting with a .32 H&R Magnum wheel gun for wear with lighter weight clothing. Even as small as this wheel gun is, I can get a good grip on it.
