I installed the aFe Momentum with the extra ram air that flows over the battery as well as underneath the battery. Sounds and performs great.

Corey, when I did mine a year ago I noticed a slight increase in fuel mileage. Definitely when towing. I can't delete (damn Comifornia) but I did also notice better throttle response. I'm happy with mine after 15K miles. Growls more under the hood now.

The SnB design makes a lot of sense, that's how I would design an intake. It's basically like a ram air design. This makes much more sense than a so called cold air intake with the filter drawing hot air right under the hood.

I put an s&b on my 15 powerstroke. After installing it I turned the truck on and it threw a wrench icon. Turned the truck off and back on again and the wrench was gone and havent seen it since. Any thoughts on what this could have been? My guess is that during the instal i got alittle dust in the MAS and it blew it out when I started the truck for the first time.

I have the 2017 6.7 with zero modifications. I have been looking at this filter relocation system and I am concerned as to what is stopping rain water from getting into the motor at highway speeds. the filter looks to be approx 6 to 10 inches from the intake opening but this is just me guessing. Question- What is stopping rain water from entering this intake design? If it does not stop the rain water from entering the intake what kind reproductions will be expected?

Think ford made that intake to prevent water hitting the intake? Just a thought. I live in Houston, so driving through deep flood water is a possibility.. Great videos, educational.

Do you run your tune on setting 3 all the time. My mechanic said 5 would prolly get better fuel mileage. Have you tried both?

Corey, please pay close attn to water getting into the box and filter. I am curious of your feedback ref this if heavy rain or car wash etc. introducing water into the system easily. Some have mentioned this.

Happens to mine everytime I wash it or drive through heavy rain. S&B told me not to worry about a little water on the filter. It just makes dirt stick easier lol. I went with their pre-filter after a noticed all the water. Seems to bead off now. Plus it helps when I'm driving through all the dust getting to the desert in SoCal.

Nice video man, only thing is be careful working with a sweatshirt at the end of your video your strings were hanging down pretty far, don't want it to pull you into the engine.

Jacob Edwards doesnt matter hardly atall. Intake kits for these trucks are unnecessary until your pushing like 750 horse

he cant answer that since its a sponsored link, so i will.....The answer is not simple. With a professional mechanic, with a dyno, and several other high-end tools, who can actually reprogram your injection system computer yes....otherwise no. Your original intake was put there by engineers, designed to run at the airflow rates of the box that came on your car/truck and as such works perfectly and at optimal horsepower. Altering that airflow without reprogramming your computer after countless dyno runs at best "might" and its a small "might" get you 1-5 horsepower. You are just as likely to get less horsepower running them. The "adds 1-? Horsepower" you see on the pretty packaging these things come in doesnt mean on a stock car/truck, it means on a well tuned performance race car/truck with constant tuning. If on the other hand you are modifying your truck to add a LOT of horsepower and need the additional airflow to maintain optimal combustion then by all means go for it.

If you're even remotely thinking of up grading your air intake, then you will be way ahead with the AFE kit. No pulling out the battery nor having to relocate the battery tray.
