THE ULTIMATE JAPANESE THRIFT STORE FOR CHEAP ANIME AND VINTAGE FIGURES

In this video, I explored the ultimate Japanese thrift store in order to find cheap anime and vintage figures.
If you are looking for cheap figures and toys in Tokyo, there are usually 3 places you can go to: Ikebukuro, Akihabara and Nakano Broadway. However, Nakano Broadway has by far the cheapest figures. The building consists of 4 floors and more than 100 stores in one place.
On top of that, if you can't find any anime figures that you like, you can always discover other goods such as vintage clothes, japanese books, marvel figures, video games, music and many others.
For example, I found some unopened One Piece figures for less than $5!
And if you are just in Tokyo for a couples days and you don't want to carry the boxes with you, it's possible to buy anime and vintage figures without the boxes. Nakano Broadway is the ultimate paradise for otaku in search of Japanese goods.

You should have shown the store names. Some of the stores here also have a branches in Akihabara and Osaka which means prices will be the same.

It's good that they're complete to harume miku's costume unlike in divisoria they only have harume blue school uniform and then sakura miku's pink uniform.

Statues are always cheap in JP cos: 1. the conversion rate & 2. they are cheap to begin with, it is only when they are exported then the overseas sellers mark up the prices

Yes, if they are made in Japan, it's normal to have a cheaper price because most of them are made there.

Nakano Brodway!❤ This building is insane!! Mandarake is on every floors plus others stores who are also interesting. There is also Traders and Mandarake Akihabara who are interesting for good prices in Tokyo😉

Goodsmile is a bit more pricey because it is one of the very few if not the only company that has a factory in Japan both created and assembled, rather than designed in Japan and then assembled in China plus quality control like the other brands.

What should you do if you want to buy a figure, for example the ones displayed behind the glass without a box. Do you ask for the staff? And also do they speak english? (Asking for an upcoming trip)

Hey! Thanks for the comment. Yes, you can ask the staff. Regarding English, it depends on the store, but otherwise just type what you want to say using the google translate app and they will understand :)

Would you recommend this to Akihabara? I am visiting Tokyo soon and had plans to buy action figures in Akihabara. But I don't see nearly enough retro figures like Star Wars, Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, etc. in Akihabara videos. It's mostly One Piece and current trending animes in Japan.

Yes, 100%. Nakano Broadway has a lot of figures like Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Ninja Turtles and others. Additionally, it's cheaper than Akihabara. You just need to spend a day there. Look at all the stores in the building and try to find the most affordable stuff that you want to buy :)

Thanks for the comment. Yes, no problem. The first store is on the second floor behind the escalator if I remember correctly. If your friend doesn't find it, she/he can ask one of the staffs for ''lashinbang'' that's the name of the store.

Star Wars is very expensive! Most of them are brand new and you can still get them for $13-$15 each. You could probably make some bank buying up a bunch and take them with you to Japan for trading.

Yeah most of the Star Wars goods are super expensive. But for now in Japan, it's quite difficult to send things abroad. The borders are still not opened and the shipping cost is really high right now :(

Yeah Robot robot can be a bit expensive. Do you mean Starcase? If yes, I have been there once. The owner has a lot of collectibles, it looks like a small museum. The prices are pretty high too.

@@MattFinds HI Yep Starcase, it was really expensive but there was some very cool vintage stuff there that I wanted badly. I have had luck in finding vintage Star Wars mainly at the Kamiedo hobby off, they seem to have a few bits everytime I've been there. Are you a SW collector ?

Yeah that store has some really cool vintage stuff :) I have some Star wars stuff, but I wouldn't say I'm a collector. Most of the vintage are very expensive. I mainly try to collect Star wars comic packs as they affordable and you can sell them for more.

Heeyy! Thanks for the comment. Just go around different stores, you will see that some of them are much cheaper :) On the 2nd and 3rd floors, some stores have decent prices. But also, it's possible with the inflation and Japan opening its borders led to an increase in prices.

@@MattFindsthank you for your comment. I spent several hours in G. broadway und the same things, like in your videos were always like 3-4 times more expensive. In stores in akihabara, it was nearly 6 times expensive -.- figured out, in random stores in yokohama (near railstation) there are prices like in your Video. Many things for like 500-800 yen.

Nakano broadway is way more cheaper than Akihabara, quality is definitely fine and the price is way down cheaper.

Nakano Broadway is 100% cheaper than Akihabara. It takes a bit more time to look at everything, but you can stuff at a really low price.

Yes, it is. But there are still some stores where you can still find cheap prices and sometimes it's even possible to negotiate with the sellers :)
