In 1979 a super exclusive Pink Floyd box set was released in the UK. 10.000 vinyl boxes were pressed but only 1000 of them had the rare picture discs of Dark Side of the Moon and Wish you were here.
This is my review of the very sought after and super rare Pink Floyd Vinyl Collection: The First XI Box Set.

Nice find. Finding the posters in such good shape is incredible. I've still have those posters after buying Dark Side soon after it's release. Unfortunately, mine are now showing their age. Strangely, I've lived with the music of Pink Floyd for more than 50 years now and don't really need to play their music again as it's been so readily absorbed into my very DNA.

Hahaha. Yes im quite pleased with it. Got two other mind bending box sets. One gone already but one is coming up in a video soon. Not on par with this but still really cool! All from the same collector.

I have this box... keen to see your video. It seems that a lot of the dark Side picture discs were taken from these and sold separately... It was pressed at the EMI factory in Hayes I believe.

Yes im talking about that a bit in the video. Seems like a lot of them was broken up so who knows how many actual intact box sets that are still available. 1000 to start with but I cant imagine there are 1000 intact =)

Thanks!! I was so happy to too be able to share it. It's nice to feel like im contributing to the knowledge archive here on KZfaq. If anyone in the future will be interested in this it's there for the viewing pleasure! No I cant say. I'll listen to it on stream but I dont think I'll get it. I only collect and sort of listen to old music. Dont have the time. But I'll listen for sure! Are you excited for it?

Is that some sort of sport activity? Curling?? I know the Swedish curling team is very good. =) Hahaha. Only kidding. Im not huge into hockey but I will probably follow the games this year.

I guess you are talking about the picture discs? They are perfectly fine to play but they dont sound good. If I understand it correct, picture discs are not made of vinyl but of plastic and few sound good and most sound very bad. With this box and the discs im treating them as a artefact. Like collecting a coin or a stamp. Something to have and look at. When it comes to listening I have great sounding pressings of them both that I'll pull and listen to when I feel like it. @@SublimMedia thanks , mais j'ai vendu les dernières centaines d'éléments de ma collection vinyl il y a 15 jours! Le vinyl pour moi est désormais impossible à manipuler ( rhumatismes articulaires) mais j'ai réinvesti dans le cd ! Car je ne peux pas vivre sans musique !!!!! L'objet est plus facile a manipuler ! Un monde sans musique( s) n'a pour moi aucun intérêts ARS LONGA VITA BREVIS 🎶🎵🤗

@@jean-lucpernel2202 CDs are great. Much comes down to what you play the format on. I have always put more money into my vinyl stereo system but I got a very good sounding cd player 2 years ago and I have to say that they are more equal now. I think it's great that you focus on the music. Thats the most important!

@@SublimMedia agreed, i'm71 old ( jazz saxophoniste and some others instruments) and since 60 years my one and only love( no human of course!) IS MUSIC( S) !
