Diana would have been a wonderful queen. She brought so much to the royal family but Charles just cared about his sex life and being coddled. Obviously the monarchy was not his first interest. Not sure it is now. He is spending millions on Camilla trying to make her into a Diana, a hopeless cause. Weird because he loved the frumpy one. Now she’s spending a fortune on herself.

Charles and Camila worry about their own happiness, Diana cared about the happiness of others
@MandyJMaddison
@MandyJMaddison 3 жыл бұрын
You know absolutely nothing about it. Diana did not care at all about the happiness of those around her. She saw everyone in terms of rivalry, or usefulness. She liked them if they had a large penis (since she was a big bony woman) or if they could groom her hair well, or play some rock music that she liked. Her "empathy" for other people was all "feel good" stuff. When she walked into a room and smiled, everyone sighed and looked at her, wanted to be photographed with her, or to be able to say that she had spoken to them. All she ever wanted was ATTENTION. And that was what she got. Charles (and Camilla as his support person) go quietly about, doing what they do, and rarely getting any attention. Have you any idea how many disadvantaged young British people have been funded for life-skills training, apprenticeships, small businesses and university degrees by Prince Charles? He doesn't just hold their hands. He send them to college.

The impact that this lovely lady had in people was really unprecedented... I was five years old when she passed away, and I still remember my mother, a simple brazilian nurse, crying her eyes out while watching the tv in pain and disbelief. My father, a firefighter, worked as security when Diana visited Brazil and he shook her hand... He said the most beautiful thing about Diana was that he never met anyone so full of light and life, so for a long time he just couldn’t believe the news about her death.... It just seemed unreal, like it didn’t fit her. They both grieved like she was a relative and if one women can cause such feelings in a simple brazilian family all the way across the Atlantic... She had to be indeed a queen of hearts. The world grieved that day and that is the main proof of how special she really was. Rest in piece, Diana. You will always be remembered.

Jen Demo Both of them broke clear promises that they freely and publicly made to God. This game you say where if one breaks the vow first then it's OK for the other is nonsense. Immoral behaviour by one person cannot justify or excuse immoral behaviour in another. Are you kidding?They were both shameless public adulterers. I would trust neither of them. Edward VII as Prince of Wales was far more immoral than Charles with mistresses and girlfriends and regular visits to whores in Paris. Queen Alexandra did not use this as an excuse to be the Palace slut, sex with her bodyguards, with people doubting the parentage of her children (as some do Diana 's son, Harry) and so on. Instead, Alexandra maintained her majesty, dignity and grace as Queen. Dianna had no idea, and probably never read a history book in her life anyway. Intelligence was not her strong point either.

LOOK at Diana, and decide whether you would want her as your "bestie", your sister, or your partner.

Remembering this wonderful person. She should be praised, she propelled the Royals into the 20th century, embraced normal people, she had genuine qualities and was more popular than the Windsors, she never let her nobility walk before her when she visited around the world. I'm happy her brother challenged the Royal family. Harry has moved away, time will tell whether William, the crown and the Brits still value it. The family lives in a very antiquated realm and need revising to come up to modernization...Harry and his wife may be the key to what will become of the Windsors in the next 60 years.

Cheryl Bristol, What are you saying, exactly? Are you saying that Prince Albert Victor and Prince George were not "in the 20th century" when they were sent off to sea as midshipmen? Are you saying that Edward who announced his abdication to marry a divorcee, over in public radio broadcast, was not in the 20th century? Are you saying that the 14 year old Princess who made her first broadcast to the displaced children of Britain during the War was not in the 20th century? Are you saying that the Queen Mother, who had the gardens of Buckingham palace dug up and planted with vegetables to feed people, and who visited the worst bomb affected parts of London, to talk to people, was behind the times... in some way? Are you saying that Prince Philip who served through WWII with the Royal Navy, was not in the 20th century? Are you saying that his Mother, Prince Alice, who hid Jews from the Nazis, wasn't quite the caring 20th century person that Diana was? Are we going to say that Queen Elizabeth, who chose to have her coronation televised, and broadcast LIVE was not in the 20th century? Are we going to pretend that it was Diana who invented the "Walkabout" where the Royal person gets out of their car/carriage, and walks around shaking the hands of hundreds of people? No, this first happened on the Queen's 1st visit to Australia (which is why it is know by the Australian aboriginal term "walkabout") Are you saying that Princess Margaret, who had her photo taken in the bath, wearing nothing except some bubbles and the superb Poltimore tiara, was not quite living on the 1960s? Are we going to pretend that Princess Anne, who drove around war-torn African countries, supervising the distribution of food and medicine to starving people was NOT a 20th century princess? Are you really going to suggest that Charles, who started banging on about environmental matters, the ecology, preservation of habitat, and sustainable farming practice.... way back in the 1970s..... you don't see HIM as bringing the Royal family into the 20th century? What Diana DID was cuddle babies (the way American politicians have always done to boost their ratings) and have photoshoots that PRESENTED HER in the media as a very caring person. What Diana DID was use the media to her own advantage. She also went horribly pubic with her private business, as if she was on Oprah Winfrey, or the Jeremy Kyle Show. This is very 21st century, isn't it?

@@MandyJMaddisonthanks for your history of the family and those who reigned and those of the family who wanted nothing to do with the crown or had no access to it. The vlog was only about Diana, so not sure why you put all the past royals in my opinion to try ti diminish what I have stated. However it is my opinion of what I know and saw through the media. Personally the family, and mainly Charles treated her unfairly at the end her legacy are her sons. Did you know her on a personal level to declare that she used the media?
@MandyJMaddison
@MandyJMaddison 4 жыл бұрын
You made a statement that Diana propelled the Royal Family into the 20th century. That statement is made quite often. It is nonsense. Why have you focussed your comment on distinguishing between those who reigned and those who didn't? What sort of red-herring is that? The questionable matter is whether Diana propelled the family into the 20th century. You are saying that she "embraced ordinary people". What exactly do you think the Queen Mother was doing (as Queen Consort) when she walked around the bombed streets of London during WWII? Concerning her use of the media- I have background information on both of her most famous publicity shoots, the pre-planned strategy of photographing her holding the hand of a man with HIV/Aids, and the brief photographic shoot in Africa of her with a limbless child on her knee. The Martin Bashir interview.... did she USE the media, or what? We are talking about an interview that was PRE-PLANNED to the extent tht she took elocution lessons before she made the interview. It was done in short takes, like a movie. It is carefully devised in order to give the WORST possible impression of the Royal Family. Your questioning that Diana "used" the media is foolish and naive. What exactly do you think she was doing? Do you realise that when she decided to do a "tell-all" interview and invited that reporter, That it happened in her apartment at Kensington Palace? Diana, at the time, was separated from Charles. She had no Royal Duties, but was continuing some Charity work because, as she stated in an interview, otherwise she would have nothing to do. So there she was in a double apartment at London's most beautiful palace. She had two hairdressers who came each day to style her hair. a manicurist, personal trainer, astrologer, secretary, cook, housekeeper, butler, chauffeur, and security. Skiing holidays in Switzerland, and anything else she wanted. For which she was doing nothing. except some charity work and social appearances. The boys were at Eton. She was in a relationship which lasted two years with the well-respected Dr Hasnat Khan. And in this situation and in the setting of a Royal Palace- she invited in the media..... promoted herself as the victim of the Royal Family, and as the only person who cared for people SHE SAT THERE IN THE ROYAL PALACE AND STATED THAT CHARLES SHOULD NOT BE KING. She was living a life of total luxury at the expense of the Royal Family, and in the middle of all that, this is what she did. And you think that she was a NICE person?

@MandyJMaddison
@MandyJMaddison 4 жыл бұрын
Cheryl, I don't know what you mean by "a duty to the public". If you mean that Diana had a duty to do charitable works, and to perform Royal Duties, yes, she DID. She attended Royal functions until about 1989 (I think. I can't remember the ate off hand). She continued to attend charity invitations until the settlement, then she dropped all the charities except four. If you mean that ten years after an informal separation, and while still supported by the Crown Estate, she had a duty to call in reporters and bad-mouth the heir to the throne- no she didn't. Diana wasn't a wonderful person, but the press and various agencies (like the anti-land-mine campaigners) were able to USE her popularity in the media in order to achieve results. She WAS sympathetic to Aids sufferers, ans she WAS sympathetic to children who had their legs blown off. But don't imagine that Diana actually DID anything, except turn up for photo shoots. She didn't campaign, call meetings, make speeches, plan fund-raising, or do anything practical. All she DID was go where she was invited and hold a hand, or have a child on her knee or five minutes for a photograph. If you want to talk about someone WONDERFUL, then seriously check out Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. This month she is attending thirty different engagements. People think Diana is a saint because she went to a hospice. Well, what have you got to say about the woman who visits Broadmoor Psychiatric Hospital for the Criminally Insane? You think of Diana hugging babies? Well, Princess Anne doesn't do that. She can be found teaching slobbery pimply incontinent disabled teenagers how to ride horses. Takes more patience than hugging a cute baby. When you think of Diana going to Africa and walking along a carefully cleared path, then it is an iconic front page photo. BUT the REALLY WONDERFUL Princess Anne was risking her life driving around war-torn parts of Africa in a 4WD, to supervise the delivery of food and medicine to starving children. This month's engagements for Princess Anne include one prison visit, one disaster commemoration, four associations for people with disabilities, six medical facilities, two facilities for needy people, several guilds, a couple of educational institutions, a couple of horse related events, a football match, and chairing a meeting of the Save the Children Fund. And her photograph will not be on the front of the Newspaper EVEN ONCE. People need to start getting straight in their minds just WHAT the Royal Family DOES, and WHO it is that does most fo the work. We are dealing here with a woman who is nearly seventy, and who has worked at the same pace, ever since she made her first state visit (to Australia) when she was about seventeen. So when I hear Diana continually praised as a "wonderful person" 25 years after her death, then I wonder why people are so unrealistic. Look up Princess Anne.
