Truth cannot be completely intellectualized because of the limitations of our mind. Therefore we must have faith in the unknowable to fully embrace the true nature of reality. This may seem a radical concept in our current information/technology age, but the idea is actually quite ancient. Let's discuss this idea through our discourse of these ancient texts of Hinduism.

Upanishads is the brilliant diamond waiting for humanity and every single individual should soak in the vibrations of these sanskrit thought trends and meditate on their immortalizing, liberating meanings

I've recently become interested in the Upanishads, so it's really cool to see this. Just wanted to say that I've been following your videos for a few months, and I really appreciate what you do

When Upanishads were composed the popular religion is called Vedic Religion. It was only after a few centuries later that the elements which form the core of Hinduism start to emerge. Even the gods of that time changed.... It embodies the philosophy that challenged the then prevalent religion and they are considered to be the literary work of those who opposed the increasing shallowness in Vedic Religion.... :)

+Vidya Sagar Yes, which means the Religion is inherently open to self introspection, not static and adapts to changing times.

Voltaire Argues that Pythagoras learned Maths, Philosophy and Metaphysics from the Indians, Aristotle was heavily influenced by Pythagoras , I guess that could be why the similarity. "I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganges, - astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis, etc... It is very important to note that some 2,500 years ago at the least Pythagoras went from Samos to the Ganges to learn geometry...But he would certainly not have undertaken such a strange journey had the reputation of the Brahmins' science not been long established in Europe" [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indomania] More on the topic -> kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdd2dsuYyrmud3U.html

Very great review. I read the Easwaran translation of the Upanishads. As for the Sanskrit, I have unfortunately butchered some Sanskrit words in my time. It's important to remember that it is not the pronunciation of the words but the concepts that they symbolize.

Endless squabbling in Indian philosophy, brother. Absolutely endless. I highly recommend the NYC Vedanta guy, he helped me a great deal with the tenets of Vedanta. Swami Sarvapriyananda. He's all over KZfaq. You've got a lot more studying to do-your Atman and my Atman and raw sewage's Atman, they are all identical.

practice awareness every day and see how many of your karma or actions are driven by your senses and not by you.. just do it and you will truly understand what the katha upanishad means.. practical meaning.. it is very hard to be aware of it.. and in a day you may be able to do it once or twice only initially ..

Brilliant review. Amazing that you got those very subtle meanings (especially the idea about how reality is out of the realm of logic and thought alone). that took me very many readings to actually get it. Appreciate your video , loved it. Having read the upanishads and other similar books, i see on your channel. I'd highly recommend reading 'The power of Now.' don't worry about the reviews of it or its own subtitle. I read it with an open mind and I felt like I got that missing link between west and eastern philosophies, and also just philosophically Tolle 'blew my mind' (you'll get that reference once you read it :)
