I use both the Diesel heater and wood stove, the wood stove during the day, has a 3 gallon water heater attached, the diesel heater for night. No waking up to feed the fire .

Very cool contraption. I have heard of these from videos mad by 'van life' people but never took the time to research individual units. A cool idea, I mean warm idea.

I came very close to getting a diesel heater for my cabin. It's an intriguing design and is fairly safe. For me it came down to having so much free wood on my property that it just didn't make sense to go that route with diesel. Plus like any other piece of technology or machine with electronics and moving parts, things can go wrong. A wood stove is fairly safe bet for a cabin in the woods.

I've had a similar unit in my semi tractors for years to heat the sleeper and shut the big diesel engine off for the night. They work well using very little power and diesel fuel. Nice video Wade. Take care.🇺🇸🔪🔥🌲

It’s something to consider Mark. They aren’t too expensive to purchase( although diesel is) and there would be less condensation than the Little Buddy propane heaters since you are bringing fresh air in all the time.👍

That is an interesting option. Thank you for showing us how it works. It seemed like everyone was talking about biodiesel about 15 years ago, but I don't hear much about that now. For a while, there were school buses running on used fast food fryer oil and all sorts of things that tend to appeal to the sustainability/preparedness/self-reliance crowd. I wonder why biodiesel faded?

It could be used with bio diesel for sure. It would be the better option for many reasons.

I think they get tired of replacing fuel filters, injectors and pumps. I have heard that if you run straight diesel for a few minutes before you shut it down it helps.

Diesel isn’t cheap but this unit just sips fuel. It’s pretty efficient.
