Hiiiiii. So this video basically a bunch of nonsense and not really a tutorial bUTTT I hope it's at least fun for a watch, hahaha. My brain can't form a coherent video right about now cuz it's real tired. The link to vote for me in the Face Awards is ( www.faceawards.com/video/529 ) by the way! Also yup the steps (I think maybe there's supposed to be 7) got messed up and it just shows how much of a HOT MESS I AM LATELY HAHAAAA. *flails*

I'm just imagining Katharine Hepburn making funny faces, right now. As a guy with reeeeaaallly curly, long hair, I can sympathize a little with the effort it takes to get it to not look like a small animal took up residence. I will say, though, that my effort is less about styling and more about undoing knots and locking it down with enough conditioning to keep it from frizzing. It's like carding wool, sometimes. I digress. Your hair looks lovely. Also, Frodo's really deep, man. Beat poetry. Trancendental meditation. You could set up a retreat and people would pay cash money to sit at his... paws?

Hello! I just found you through a review video on the nyx lip dye and was hooked on your style. Holy smokes are you everything I’ve ever wanted in a KZfaqr; that old school music, your personality/humor, the vintage vibes. There’s just such a wonderful aesthetic about your channel. Your channel deserves so much more recognition.

I actually even had a dream last night that I was watching you do a Chicago (the musical) puppet tutorial while lip synching "oh yes, oh yes, oh yes they both, oh yes they both, reached for the, the gun the gun the gun the gun..." I give 5 stars!

You're just the funniest KZfaqr there is, Rachel. I've been up ill all night and now it's 6am and I'm watching this, and you actually got me giggling. LOL, I am inspired! This is how my hair usually comes out when I curl my hair. And I live in humid Chicago and what I learned is I can put a thin hair net, that is close to my hair color like the ladies did back then, an "invisible hair net", on the back of my head pin it down like I'm wearing a snood and it will help keep my curls looking alright. The hair net also helps keep my hair looking good on windy days which I never know when that is. I just like to be prepaired, with Chicago weather one never knows. And the major reason why I have not curled my hair in years. I have natural waves and no matter how much I brush/comb I end up with a lions maine, which I do not mind some times. Since on days when I'm not at work and I washed my hair I can slide in a head band and I end up with a natural 1960s bubble flip hair style. So to fix this and since I wanted a lazy vintage 1940s hair style. I ended up doing a side parted pomp hair style. I twist the hair on the sides and push them forward and pin in place. Same with the right side except this part is where I form the pomp and still do the twist and push the hair forward and pin down. And take my comb and comb my pomp and the left side of my hair up to the sky to smooth them out and hair spray, inspired by Bettie Garble. And I leave the back down or I'll put it in a ponytail which ends up looking like I got a bush on the back of my head. And when my hair is not bushy after a day or two its flat and separates into see through strands of straw. The interesting thing though is people still complement me on my hair, LOL.

A little late to the party, but I just discovered your channel and wanted to let you know how refreshing your videos are. I have been trying my hand at vintage hair styling and am forever frustrated when my hair doesn't look PERFECT like the other girls on KZfaq. Your approach is down to earth and totally achievable for an everyday girl like me who is not a professional hair stylist. The unachievable beauty standards everywhere put me off having the confidence to really pull of these sorts of hair styles, but with patience and practice I have gotten better... gosh the beauty bloggers with the "I just brushed it once and suddenly I have a perfect hollywood glam hairstyle" REALLY frustrate me. THANK YOU for being you!

You are such a lovely woman! Your hair always looks so good. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who would have sat there under the dryer forever. How do I always find myself in situations where I know I should ask someone, but my shyness and embarrassment won't let me, so I just stay where I am? I wish I had the courage to move more often. I'd waste less time, but alas, such is not my personality.

Yeah, I use to be this way until I hit my late 30s and pushed myself, and stopped feeling ashamed/dumb for asking questions. I learned that unless I speak up no matter how ashamed I ended up feeling I got an answer to my question. And I read that the smartest people are the ones who always asks questions.
@bambilover26
@bambilover26 6 жыл бұрын
It was actually really helpful for me to work in retail for several years because I got to see the whole spectrum of types of questions people ask. From super basic to annoying, it gave me perspective for public interactions with people, and I realized that some questions that I used to think would make me stand out as weird or uncertain or clueless are actually asked all of the time! I also realized that if I didn't mind helping people as a retail associate, other people might not mind helping me. I try to reach out more now when I'm shopping and looking for something specific. They will know if they have a white, short sleeved, cotton shirt, and they won't mind telling me! It saves me time and pushes me out of my comfort zone a bit. It's been helpful for me to remember that I'm not the only person that someone has interacted with in their life, and chances are that I'm not the weirdest or most annoying. I'm sure that even your awareness of yourself makes you a lovely person to interact with, and strangers need that! Let's be courageous together and start asking more questions =)

I like your new upload schedule, I‘m finally not 10 hours late 🤗 Also: lol @ the nail story, it would have sat there as well for at least as long! Do you know Alessandro Striplac? It’s fabulous stuff. Been using it for years. You apply it like regular nailpolish (except that you can take your time, since it doesn’t start drying on you in the middle of doing a nail) and then it hardens in 90 sek. under a UV lamp. Lasts about a week to 10 days and then (and that’s the best part) you can just peel it off! No filing, no acetone...at some point it just turns weirdly soft and comes off the nail in one piece.

When I brush my sets even a minimal amount all of the curl comes out completely. I’ve tried setting lotion, hairspray, mousse. I’ve tried wet sets, dry sets, hot sets...I don’t know if it’s because my hair is so fine and thin or what but it makes me so sad. I’m so envious of your ability to keep curl in your hair. :-)
