tbf we dont know how many time passe betwen Yasopp going on the sea with Shanks and the moment they first arrive in Luffy island, they probably haven't ever left the est-blue at that time, so its possible Yassop come to Luffy island only one week after he quit Usopp island, could he still go back to is island to see is soon during that years ? yeah maybe but do a pirate would ask his captian to take a detour to personal interest like that ? i dont know, no one in Luffy crew never ask to go back to their island after 1years (2) to see how they family or loved one doing

Some things to consider about Shanks that we know (info only up to pre-timeskip sources) -Shanks and Mihawk used to duel and those who witness it calls it the stuff of legends -This time period was when Shanks still had his dominant arm (he's a leftie) before giving it up "to the new era" -He became an Emperor of the Sea AFTER losing his dominant arm in the 10 years since he left Luffy -Despite Shanks earning accolades, Mihawk refused to duel with him ever since he lost his left arm because he feels Shanks wouldn't be able to reach his 100% again -Speaking of which, this era's power scaling would have been thrown off the scales if Shanks still had his dominant arm WHILE he's on his prime years (37) -A fruitless Blackbeard managed to leave a permanent scar on a pre-Emperor Shanks before he met Luffy I would pay premium to see these scenes animated in current Toei animation

Ignoring the fact that Akainu, kizaru,kuzan, garp and sengoku are still there and could fuck up shanks and his crew ? Sengoku litterally said he stopped cuz it’s shanks. Marines would still fight if you switch shanks with kaido or Big mom. Shanks is a celestial and probably the only reason why sengoku stopped

When oda was writing the first chapter one of his editors said it wasn't impactful enough to be memorable so oda decided to take out Shank's arm and I gotta say, it was a great choice. Also when oda was planning sabaody arc his editor also said that it's a little boring so he added the supernova and came up with all of those characters in a couple of hours Edit: Ace did meet with Shanks in a flashback before he joined Whitebeard's crew and tell Shanks that Luffy is his brother

Why wouldn't the seaking be able to bite his arm off? It doesn't make the seaking any stronger, it's still doesn't have any durability or something like that, it just has a strong bite. Plenty of other creatures in these worlds that are trash, but have strong bites or something akin. Just have to watch Impel Down and see the sphynx, it's strong enough to break a seastone net, which as far as we know, not even Shanks or Mihawk can do. Yet, it gets trashed by Bon Clay. Damage output does not equate overall strength or competence. Also, being strong or "high level" on the power scale doesn't equate durability either. It may equate resilience, which is different. Just remember when Zoro got stabbed by buggy and had to rest because that was too much for him do deal with. Are people expecting that Zoro should be like a freakin CP9 member and Iron Body that? To be Mr 1? He's strong, skilled, fast, can parry, block, dodge and counter. But if he gets hit, he bleeds, he gets hurt. Shanks is the same way, Shanks is not Kaido, he's not Big Mom, he CANNOT tank a sharp object being thrust on his skin with force, it pierces him. UNLESS he adds armament haki first, which might take a fraction of a second, which he didn't have, because protecting the kid who can't swim and was about to be eaten was priority over not getting hurt himself. He's not durable. He's resilient. Meaning he takes damage, but he withstands it, handles the pain. Same as Whitebeard, who got impaled by Squard. Should this random ass new world captain be able to impale the strongest man in the world. YES! YES HE SHOULD. Because this is not fucking dragon ball.

@@rottenpotato4733 i m gonna spoiler, problem is that Shanks has just super strong Haki(perception out of world), there is no way he would be tricked by a bomb; more there is no way he couldnt kill Seaking before was going to get Rufy; more there is no way with armament Haki, couldnt repeal Seaking's ttack. We can understand Oda's choice, One Piece was just at start; but considering what we just saw after, it s clear there isnt any logic about Shanks losing his arm there.

The reason why Senguko accepted the terms is because they cant afford to have more casualties and in their situation they cant handle two emperor's in one go, and specially Shanks is more stronger than Old Whitebeard and also Shanks has the STRONGEST haki of the four emperor's. The line of not needing anesthesia is the one I never liked. Anesthesia needed so patients don't move during operations (reflexes, etc.) and to prevent circulatory shock, which can kill you. So you need anesthesia even if your patient is unconcious.

@@RedeemerofDark you are kind of correct but with a difference the current year of OP is around 1500 but is not based on the real world that date is the sea circle age calendar, said by oda the technology and other factors are nit exactly based on a specific real life timeline as sone countries have way more advanced technology than others, with that in mind Law comes from a place where medical tech was really good so I doubt this makes a context where that is the reason he doesnt use anesthesia.

Spoiler (only for Manga Readers) It is really crazy that I just realized that all of the current Yonko were part of this war and except for Shanks who was already a Yonko they all had their breakthrough in this war. Of course Luffy was already famous after Ennies Lobby but after this war there was not a single person who didn’t know him. Blackbeard was already a Shichibukai but in this saga he made a huge step toward becoming a Yonko and Buggy was only now really getting famous
