in nyc there is giant christmas tree in public place called rockerfeller center - in nyc there are christmas decorations all over the streets where people shop - compared to nyc those right wing cities are anti christmas since they could never match what nyc does during christmas

I'm Jewish and I never understood what these different flavors of Christian are. What's the difference between Lutheran and Jehovah's Witness? Why is he an Ex-Jehovah's Witness but you're not an ex-Lutheran? Do you have to be the same flavor of Christian to get married?

@@jwallah346He's probably an ex-JW because JW is an insular cult. Lutheranism, on the other hand, is a diverse denomination in and of itself that is perhaps especially prevalent in Europe. Where I'm from, most christians are Lutherans. Many of them are not particularly religious, at least not outwardly. It is considered poor taste to be proselytizing. You typically don't have to be the same kind of christians to get married, there are no rules against it at least in Lutheranism, that I'm aware of - but there is if you're a JW, probably another reason why he's an ex-Witness.

​@@jwallah346 One of the differences is that Jehovah Witnesses aren't allowed to celebrate holidays or even birthdays. They also have to "witness", or go around evangelizing to people. About a week and a half ago there was a loud knock at my door. My dogs thought we were under attack and started barking so I only opened the door a tiny bit. It was a young man in a suit. He says "I know you weren't expecting me today". I'm thinking he's lost or something so I step out onto the porch and tell him that I wasn't expecting him at all. He goes into his spiel about being a local Jehovah's Witness and asking if I'd like to talk about God/Jehovah/Bible. I told him "no thanks, I'm very busy", so he asked if he could pray for us. I said fine, do what you want, just do it at a distance so that my dogs don't eat your face (they had been inside barking this whole time). I said goodbye and went back inside and he was still trying to talk to me. Usually if someone knocks on our door the dogs let out one or two barks, but this guy had POUNDED on my door, so they thought we were under attack 😄. Was I rude? Maybe, but I used a polite tone of voice. I felt it was rude of him to disrupt my day and try to weasle his way into my home uninvited. I live half a block away from a Cathokic church and never once has a Catholic come banging on my door wanting to talk to me about God/Jesus.
