it seems the Liceo concert was this same year (2015) I've been told. Regardless, I see a huge improvement in the professionalism of Ale, and Dany actually too, in confidence and performance and just playing/timing accuracy.... it's amazing how fast people that age learn and grow!

Liceo was before their time at Berklee. This was after, you can see how much more Ale was moving around.

They worked so hard from the start and this is the result, they start playing and people listen. When musicians are impressed, they know that TW could be successful, and that's exactly what happened. So proud of them for putting in the countless hours it takes to succed. Loved it! Gracias Don.

Awesome info thanks… 5 months is all it takes for smart talented hard working kids to improve dramatically, so that makes sense.

I find this gig poetic in a way. Luis sold his vintage bike to pay for the recording studio in their basement, and here they are playing a gig for Indian motorcycles. I also always enjoy the part where the vets are giving DPA props. It seems that no matter the band, when they share a stage with The Warning, they have nothing but effusive praise for the girls. From a very early age, DPA were seen as the future, if not equals by their fellow musicians. To be treated as peers is no small thing for an up and coming band. I know the girls have also faced envy from bands, who have not earned the same level of respect, but whose fault is that? These girls have earned every stage. Nothing has been simply handed to them. To their credit, every challenge has been met. Every hurdle cleared. DPA are generational talents, simple as that.

that's cool about the poetic cycle for Luis and the motorcycle. I like that! Yes... absolutely I agree with all you said. And as a very picky musician myself, I consider DPA musicians who I personally would love to work with - they take it as seriously as possible while finding ways to keep it fun. Music is their first love, but it's also their chosen career and their talent, and they don't minimize any of that or take it for granted. I truly connect with them and admire them for their decisions and consistency. With or without the help of siblings and parents and professionals, musicians fail all the time. There is so much more to DPA that have provided the exact chemistry for them to succeed, and not just succeed but make an indelible mark on the music industry.

This was great! I never knew about this gig and interview, and it does seem like a big gig for this early in their career. I think we are truly blessed that there is so much content available online for everyone to track and follow The Warning's journey!!

It is pretty amazing that they have been leaving such great impressions on the public and music insiders for nearly a decade now. I am hard pressed to come up with another group that has followed the same (or roughly similar) path to DPA in rock history. SO very very cool.

When they were playing Sweet Child of Mine, the camera shot from behind Pau you can see Pablo Gonzales standing off to the side. Many will say that if not for Pablo there might not be The Warning that we know today.

Yes - I think Pablo is clearly instrumental in the development of The Warning. I think they would eventually get to the success they have now, but his instruction, inspiration, guidance really seems to have helped the girls develop at a rapid rate, which is just so fantastic!

If I hadn't known anything about them and happened to be at an event like this and saw them perform I would have been blown away for sure. Imagine they are performing for a few hundred people here. And just 8 years later, in October, at the Pepsi Center, they will be performing for over 7500 people!

@@don-music By 2025, they will be rarely ever supporting other bands for shows and likely will be packing 10k plus size venues with a couple of support bands opening for them everywhere they go. They have quite a following in the LA area already and a growing one here in Vegas. A couple of weeks ago, I played the MORE video for my grandson who is 4 1/2 years old. He loved it. And he said he'd heard it playing in the car. I figured maybe he was just saying it sounded like something else or it reminded him of some other music his mom plays in the car - which is routinely Pop. I tried introducing his mom to The Warning a while back. She liked that they were all female, but wasn't into the music much. But yesterday, I was taking care of my grandson and I asked her if she had ever heard MORE? She didn't know. So I played her the music video. She said, Oh yeah. I like that. They play it on the radio sometimes. So, it's happening here and there.

Thank you Don-Music. In some interviews where the Villarreal sisters have been asked if they had difficulties in a predominantly male rock environment, they have said that when they started they were also very young, and although they were never received badly when they arrived, both the stage staff and the public did not expect much from them (perhaps something nice or tender). But after they played, they noticed a big change in the way they saw them. It seems to me that this video documents one of those episodes.

I've never seen this video before but I think I had seen the interview at the beginning. That was an awesome introduction for the performance and I'd like to see another interview with Rene now after they've grown so much. I noticed they were performing Exterminated in the background during the last interview too. Props to Luis and Mony for DPA being so humble, nice and polite 😊.

You’re welcome! I believe this is the first version on KZfaq with English subs, thanks to FranciscoDiaz’s personal KZfaq posting of the video to generate subs in original language that then let yt generate English subs. He put a lot of time into doing this, specifically so i could post this on my channel. So this is going to be a first for most of us who speak English but not Spanish. Thanks for watching!

At the end, René Torash tells Dany that the Les Paul is going to be bad for her back and that she should get a Gibson SG. He said that the Gibson SG is much much lighter, has a thinner neck and has a tastier tone. "That's your guitar!" He said. "Also, it's comfortable because of...." and there it cuts.
@don-music
@don-music Жыл бұрын
I fully agree about both guitars. Great advice… although she lucked out with Rick toone, prs, Manson and ironically the biggest Gibson you can get from lzzy
@westmus
@westmus Жыл бұрын
...and Dany did try an SG. There's videos from an early local gig where she plays an black SG. I've seen people tell the neck feels longer on an SG, based on the design of the body. That may be why it didn't seem to be for her. Most "guitar" people seem to overlook how tiny Dany actually is.
@monicamansour3525
@monicamansour3525 Жыл бұрын
@@westmus Yea yeah, I know she had an SG, I think she played it in several shows. Didn't know about the neck though... Don, I totally agree... It's so good how he talks about them and to Dany respectfully and treating them as musicians not just like little kids, and for starters speaking to her directly when some would tell dad if at all...
