No, she’s the second female lead! And actually not nice at all to say the least. I also felt bad for her in this scene because of her desperation and the actress’s performance.

Concubine Qiao is not the female lead. In a small way, she was pitiful but her actions were shocking to begin with. Her behaviour and actions were evil from the get-go. Spoiler - she actually caused the death of the Marquis’s first wife to marry him as his second wife. She then attempted to harm the first wife’s child and the second wife. She did many evil other things along the way. She never understood him and had a one-sided crush, so her reasons can’t be justified at all. She harmed the family and if left in charge, she could of done some serious damage and potentially ruined that family.

I didn’t feel sorry for her. The male lead never liked her, but she forced him to marry her. Yeah she was desperate and it was sad, but she made the choice herself and paid the price.
