If you are moving to Flagstaff, Arizona this video can give you some details about what to expect from the weather. Living in Flagstaff is different from other parts of Arizona. We are 7000 feet up and considered the high desert. We have four seasons, or maybe six if you count the wind and the monsoons!

Whether the weather be cold, whether the weather be hot, whether the weather be warm, whether the weather be not.... love it! Haven’t thought about this poem in years. 👍

I just recently stayed in Flagstaff. It was my first trip out west and my first plane ride. I fell in love with Flagstaff and Williams. Now, I am planning a second trip, but I am hoping in 12 years to retire there. Thanks for this fun informative video. I subscribed.

We were in Flagstaff three weeks ago and we just fell in love! 😩 we miss it so much! We didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked so we’re planning a return trip for spring break next year. Thank you for the video it’s such a great help! We’re hoping that some of the snow will still be lingering in March and you just confirmed it may still be! 🤗 will definitely check out the snow melting event! Anxiously awaiting Flagstaff from San Antonio,Texas!

I would assume you guys would have your own type of Flagstaff town in Texas!? Texas is huge so I would hope there's great towns there like Flagstaff. Glad you loved it! We were there April and it was full of snow. Hope that helps

I love all the sunny days you have over there, and those Ponderosa Pines sure look a lot like the Pitch Pines that dominate our Pine Barrens on Long Island NY (and to a greater extent, New Jersey). I love the cold, but hate how humid & hot our summers are getting here in NY. Lifelong LI'er but I may consider living in Flagstaff in the future since the humidity & clouds are starting to get a little too depressing for me. I'm lucky to get 3 or 4 decent days each month to hike in the Pines with sunshine & blue skies. Still amazing how similar those Ponderosa Pines look compared to Pitch Pines, the main difference is the Ponderosas get a lot taller and seem to not have epicormic growth, but they're both three needled Pines. And have thick, fire resistant bark.

Yeah, they are very similar. We get a lot of people from the east coast who like the lower humidity and higher number of sunny days. I love that we have four seasons, but still mostly sunny.

This is great to know. I actually got a job offer in flagstaff so I have to move from Indiana to flagstaff. Luckily I'm used to cold weather because of the lake effect snow we get up here from the great lakes.

Yeah...That definitely sounds a little off. I guess I meant it’s a little challenging to get there on the dirt roads. I’ve driven it many times. Lots of washboard and a few bumpy places but overall driveable. You might need high clearance certain times of the year.

@@LivetheFlagstaffLife And that's another similarity to the Pitch Pine Barrens here in the Northeast, they are a fire dependent ecosystem. New Jersey does a lot of controlled burns (and there's some on LI where I live too) to promote the health of the forest and reduce the risk of an uncontrolled wildfire. We've had our fair share of big fires both in New Jersey and Long Island. In both cases the Pitch Pines came back, though some trees were killed by the fire, a lot budded back, and a lot of new seedlings grew in. In recent years its been very wet here though which has meant less fires, which is actually not good for the Pines (along with the lack of cold in winter), they need periodic fires, as a result of the additional rain & clouds (we get less sunny days than we used to) we are seeing outbreaks of beetles which have killed some areas of forest off, this is worse on Long Island because we dont have enough controlled burns which would kill the beetles and reduce competition. But I find the parallels between the Ponderosa Pine forests and the Northeastern Pine Barrens quite interesting. Reminds me so much of the places here, but with more sunshine. All the clouds we've been dealing with the past few years have been depressing.

Hi Arwen. Flagstaff has two presumed positive cases last I heard. Schools and businesses are mostly shut down. Restaurants are open for pickup and delivery. Grocery stores were empty of paper products, canned goods, and some produce two days ago. It snowed pretty good last couple of days. I'll see if I can do a special interim video tomorrow or Saturday.
