I think Rand would have been more likely, in this scenario, to attack the White Tower if Min had been killed by Aes Sedai or warder actions that him freeing himself.

I feel like Min dying by Rands own hands would give a ton of power to Lews Therin and Rand would end up taking his own life. She was always the one that made him feel like the farm boy he was, and taking that away would just make him lose control.

Episode 2 should be what if the Seanchan had invaded during the Aiel war instead of later and taken over the westlands.

What if... Rand had bent the knee to Tuon? What if... LTT got hold of the Power when Rand was wielding Callandor? and as a special bonus for you: What if... Kvothe had kissed Denna in the woods near Trebon?

I think Rand wouldn't imitate LTT and channel everything he has. He didn't when Rahvin killed Aviendha and Mat.

What if Rand stilled/killed himself when he channelled the eye of the world? How would Moiraine and Siuan change their plan?

The biggest issue was the lack of influence that Elayne and Aviendha would have on Rand. Yes he loved Min but not more than he did the 2 others.

This was amazing Daniel, really looking forward to the next ones. A suggestion I would give for the next one regarding the Stormlight Archive (as I am a hopeless member of the cult of Brandon) is "what if Szeth killed Dalinar?" I know it would likely be harder than this episode because Stormlight isn't finished, but I think it'd be cool to think about.

Before I nit pic the fan fic, I just want to say I enjoyed the video as an experiment of thought. My problem is that there are a lot of prophecies that would still need to be fulfilled. Being Ta'veren, Rand would be forced by the pattern to cleans the taint and make peace with the Seanchan. Remember that if he were to fail in one turning of the wheel, all other realities would break as well.

This is what’s so great about WOT. One detail changes and the entire storyline shifts. A dark twist for dark times but interesting still!

What if glockta hadn’t lost his leg? What would we do without all the dialogue about stairs? Would we even like the first law series at that point?

OOH this was BRILLIANT!!! I got literal chills at the very end.

Rand in this state would prob just Choedan Kal the White pile of rubble away, no more going light and trying to win with cough cough "traditional forces". I do not expect the ever glorious seachan to hold up any better to tactical nuke strikes either :) The Forsaken would end up hiding for the most part, brave souls like them know not to give a frontal attack on superior forces. Rand will crush all opposition to his rule, declaring himself GOD ruler of all lands and start his attack on the Dark one. Sending his forces first to Shayol Ghul winning a long drawn out battle with large scale losses, Several of the Forsaken fall in defence of the mountain. Rand confronts the Dark One, as this happens the Shadows plan springs into motion, Trolloc Forces spring from the Ways with the remaining Forsaken and dread lords leading Each Group, The Black tower turns on the light, attacking from the inside, Rand seeing all this inside the Mountain agrees with the Dark Ones Vision to End the Wheel.

Nice job thinking through the ripples of the change you suggested! :) Ideas for Future What Ifs: What if Faramir had come to Rivendale to represent Gondor in the Council instead of Boromir? What if Catelyn Stark had been able to love Jon Snow, and raise him as her own? What if Ned Stark hadn't tried to warn Cersei? What if Sirius Black hadn't gone after Pettigrew, but instead stayed with his godson? Thoughts on this 'What if": Did Logain realistically have time to even get to the Black Tower in time to participate in these events? Not that I think he would make a ton of difference to the end result of what you describe, lol. I would be hard-pressed to believe Rand, a man who literally keeps a running list of all of the women whose deaths he takes responsibility for, attacking a tower full of women with the intent to kill them. If anything could drive him to do it though, it would be this death I think! Would the Aiel follow him to do this? I can't imagine it would be an easy conversation with the Chiefs.

Fan fiction aside, the fact that Min wasnt killed is nothing short of a miricle, here is an example of what I like to think tye creator had his hand in the story. I beleive it to be his voice at the end of the eye of the world and I dont think he interferes very iften, but I think he does from time to time, this being one example

Great one I had a thought that the Aiel might turn on Rand if he tried to use them for something other their intended purpose. I could see the wise ones refusing to just go along on a destructive rampage. interesting thoughts of how it could have gone down though. It's always fun to hear different possibilities.

Just one book before, we saw what Rand would do if a woman he loved was killed. And, by the way, he was a lot more conscious of Aviendha as such, since they had already slept together, and at this point, Rand believes he & Min are just friends. I don’t see what Rand would be doing to try to save Min’s life. He already tried to bring a corpse back to life in Tear and was kind of horrified at the result, to the point that the next time he was faced with a friend’s near death, Mat hanging from Avendesora, he eschewed any use of the Power and turned to CPR. Also, just use words whose meaning you know. Daniel resembles Brandon Sanderson way too much already with his mistakes about what happens in the books, we don’t need him also picking up Sanderson’s crappy vocabulary skills. To “nearly decimate” an army, means you kill 8 or 9% of it. So if the Asha’man “nearly decimate” the Shaido, but few escape with their lives… what happened to all the rest of them? So Rand is both unhinged with grief, oblivious to Taim’s power play and determined to get revenge for an accidental death on a battlefield of his own doing AND he goes about methodically building up an organized attack force to go after Tar Valon? Who, by the way, is alienated by Rand crushing the White Tower? Tear hates the Tower. Cairhien is a wreck and occupied by him. Andor, less than two years ago, was bitterly divided over the issue of Aes Sedai wielding too much influence over the crown, with even some Morgase loyalists nonetheless believing that it might be better to send the Daughter-Heir off somewhere else for her education abroad. Illian is still under Sammael at this point, Murandy and Altara have no unity, Amadicia might actually be impressed, Ghealdan and Arad Domon are utterly unable to conduct foreign policy and Tarabon has been taken by the Seanchan. The Borderlands might be upset, but it’s pretty well established that they will accept anything as a fait accompli when the war against the Shadow is in mind. At worst, it makes the rulers a bit more skittish when they march south. It’s not like they were all that thrilled with him anyway. How does Logain die in the siege of Tar Valon? He only escaped/was released from the rebel camp less than two weeks before Dumai’s Wells. How does he make it overland from Altara to eastern Andor in time to join the attack on Tar Valon. So Rand is moving very slowly & deliberately in his campaign against the Tower (for bullshit motivation, remember), and at the same time, is immune to every other distraction, diversion and attempt by Perrin, the Wise Ones and others like Dobraine or Bashere to talk sense into him? If he’s diverting all resources he has, does that mean he’s re-routing his massive army, the greatest force under a single ruler the world has seen in centuries, to that purpose, and ignoring Sammael? Wouldn’t he require Mat’s military genius to make all this work, and go looking for him and create some very aberrant ripples in the Ebou Dar plot? All of this, besides being contradictory nonsense, is rather out of character. So many Rand’s reactions posited in this video contradict what we have seen him do in similar situations. When Elayne’s mother was killed, he was furious and wanted to strike to avenge her, fast, but he was also listening to reason, and NOT diverting resources from other projects. The fast raid on Caemlyn is more in character for Rand, who tends to be confident in his own ability to pull things off. It makes no sense that he’d randomly target ALL Aes Sedai out of anger for something he actually did, given the corollary of his aforementioned self-confidence - taking personal responsibility for everything that goes wrong. Rand might be prone to lashing out, but he is far more likely to blame himself if there is any reason to. If he transfers the blame for Min’s death to the Tower or Aes Sedai, it’s probably personal against Elaida, and he’d just jump right into the Tower to grab her for a trial and maybe a stilling. What makes the Seanchan go faster? How does that work? Wishful thinking? A war of attrition is one the Seanchan are going to lose. They’ve succeeded so far with sudden and surprise attacks. Assuming Ebou Dar & Amadicia succeed as in OTL, Illian is next on their list. And that’s were Sammael is. And Sammael is not taking any shit from an army led by a Darkfriend, so Suroth is going to be getting different orders. The war of attrition they won in Aviendha’s future visions was a generational affair, after they spent a generation getting their new Empire under their control and colonizing and organizing everything. They simply are not ready for a war of attrition, not when Rand has the logistical wherewithal and superior capabilities to outmaneuver them. Remember, too, that future war of attrition occurred after the Seanchan had acquired Traveling, so they could counter-maneuver. The future Seanchan had thoroughly established their bureaucracy and institutions. The current Seanchan are largely run by Suroth & co. and are vulnerable to Rand’s preferred surgical strikes. Where are the many nations adopting isolationism under the influence of Darkfriends? By this point they should be under the Seanchan or fighting the Shadow, except for whatever is left of Rand’s coalition, which Daniel appears to have forgotten about, preferring to merge Rand’s assets into a monolithic force. “I tried to keep elements in this video that I thought would still happen…” I don’t think you tried at all. If you’re going to make drastic changes, you have to explain what caused them. Why is the gholam after Mat in this TL? Sammael decided to send it to assist Carridin in the hunt for the -angreal cache well after the turning point in this hypothetical. Why and where are all these forces and powers doing stuff at random to make the timeline worse? Why do the Forsaken go after Rand, when the Shadow has been constraining them so hard not to, especially in this timeline where that is working FOR the Dark One? The Dark One is trying to emerge into the Pattern by spreading evil which erodes the strength of the seals on his prison. One way he does this is through the Forsaken taking power, where they have the ripple effects of turning people under their rule toward negative emotions. This is why Ishamael and Shai’tan want to turn or corrupt Rand, because if they get a powerful ta’veren, who is clearly tied to the overall state of the world, acting evil and negatively, it’s going to further the Dark One’s ambition to get free. The point of alternate timelines is to broaden and deepen an understanding of the history or the story underlying the actual events and people involved. That understanding seems largely absent from this, with more effort given to melodramatic posturing than coming up with a plausible story beyond “awful things happen.” If you want to be really in keeping with the spirit of WoT, an alternate hypothetical from a point where Rand kills Min by accident at Dumai’s Wells would explore what that means for Rand’s mentality and outlook. Character and motivations are paramount in the story by Jordan. The problem with way too much fan fiction (including the three fan fiction novels Brandon Sanderson persuaded Tor to publish) is that it jettisons character developments in favor of a checklist of events and occurrences, often forcing characters to behave in counter-indicated ways to get to the Awesome thing the fan wants to see happen.

Loved it. Gripping. TBH it would be great if the show did like 3 possible endings just for filler XD (i know 15 books and i want fillers? yeah, im spoiled w content feed me more WoT 15 book not enough!)

This is totally viable as one of the other worlds experienced.... I forget in what book, It's been several years since I read the series.

The "Spoiler Warning" broke my heart. I hate that I'm still on book 4 and have to literally tip toe around any content related to WoT on the internet.

I don't know if the Shadow would need a fleet of black ships, the Forsaken could just open portals straight to the Seanchan homeland and move their armies that way.

I think Rand could have taken the Tower without overly depleting his forces. Gateways would be too big of an advantage. His forces would be in the Tower and quelling resistance before the Aes Sedai had much chance to react. Still loved the video though and thought you did a good job with it.

I'd definitely like to see something dark tower related in this series. Maybe what if Jake Chambers didn't die in the first book?

What a cool video and very dark scenario. The ending words were appropriately ominous. However, I disagree with you about Rand attacking regular Tar Valoners. Black Tower could strike straight at the White Tower itself by traveling and take the snake's head aka Elaida out that way. Of course, if Rand was in the thrall of grief and the taint, he might not be thinking straight. And if he spoke with Taim about his plan, he would get enthusiastic support. If Rand tried to involve the Aiel in an attack against Tar Valon, they likely wouldn't have outright agreed. Another Wheel of Time what if for you: What else could have Perrin done for four books instead of try save Faile?
