I've just finished reading the Jim Kay illustrated editions of Harry Potter and now researching other illustrated books. Have just now come across Ingpens illustrated editions of the classics and now I want them all 😬

@@williamdoyle1108 I know right?what got me started was a christmas carol h/b edition of course, amazing binding and stunning ingpen illustrations (already ordered the Harry Potter illustrated versions since I waited a while for the prices to drop a bit, which is an issue here in Greece -sighs)

Hello! If you are still interested in buying Robert Ingpen books, I was able to recently purchase a copy of his Alice in Wonderland in hardback off of Amazon. I was really happy with it since the story was unabridged in my version, and there were illustrations of some sort on every page. Well worth the affordable amount that I spent! I saw his Peter Pan and Wendy available too.

I found the following: in greek editions (same quality hardback etc)} the adventures of pinocchio, the ugly ducking, silent night, around the world in 80 days, a christmas carol, the jungle book, treasure island.And in english editions which I prefer because I like to read a book in its original language} Peter Pan and Wendy,Alice’s Adventures in wonderland,the wonderful wizard of Oz, Gulliver’s travels,Tom Sawyer,the secret garden, and The Dream Catcher which is a thinner book he had written as a lyrical lullaby book to his son, if I’m not mistaken. He is an amazing artist and I love the colours he is using. I wish he would be chosen for the Harry Potter books too, but as I understand that might be difficult as he is elderly now (born in 1936).Oh well, we have at least his past illustrated books to admire and cherish.

@@FoolishFishBooks, the jungle book, alice in wonderland and through the looking glass, the wizard of oz, the nutcracker and peter pan. They are all the same collection but all German versions.

@@FoolishFishBooks a favourite is complicated to say... but my first love was the Jungle book. Was because of those illustrations that I started to look for the others. But I am missing a few. This one I didn't even know that existed. So soon I will be trying to get the other ones

But for sure Alice in Wonderland, illustrated by Robert Ingpen, is one of my favorite editions of the several I have.
