the thing I like the most about the winter soldiers metal arm is that it is so unnecessarily jacked, they placed so much muscle definition on it.

The winter soldier has to be my favorite character. His history is just incredible and Sebastian Stan kills the roll. In winter soldier mode he’s a complete badass because of his no mercy made to kill behavior. But in Bucky mode he’s also badass.

Seb Stan, The Russos and MCU made Bucky one of my favourite Marvel characters. Seriously, I didn't know to much about Winter Soldier. I only thing I knew was that he was a Cap's foe and was a boss fight in Ultimate Alliance.

in civil war bucky never attemped to kill anyone, he made that clear in the very first scene at his house, the guy was looking for redemption and was trying to escape in the same time. so it makes sense why he held back in alot of the fight scenes, specially the airport one(imagine having cap going against everyone to give him his freedom back and then he ends up killing one of his friends) even in that scene where he got brainwashed, the mission given to him wasn't killing the avengers it was "escaping" and thats what he did, he could have killed falcon, tony(since he was disarmed) the blonde chick, widow. and could have chased steve and tried to finish him or stayed and continued the fight with panther but he left. plus in winter soldier mood he doesn't give a single fuck about protecting someone he's fighting with, holding back or collateral damage he's just going for the kill plain and simple oh and lets not forget that in 70% of the movie he barely had any of his equipment(bucky is mainly a sniper) he was also very confused and unstable mentally i really can't wait to see how strong he will become in IW since now he has a full on vibranium arm

what i find cool is that Bucky is naturally righty but he adapts to his new arm and becomes like a weird ambidextrous/lefty, mostly reliant on it for stunts and fighting.

I grew up watching Bruce Lee and kungfu movies, so I simply love cool fight scenes. And that Winter Soldier highway battle scene ranks high in my book in terms of fight choreography. The first time I watched it, I literally sat up in excitement when the Winter Soldier produced a knife and started flipping it! So cool. I prefer more realistic hand to hand combat rather than CGI-heavy scenes like the Civil War airport fight scene. But, yes, both films are great... and thanks for this video (six minutes of cool Winter Soldier action!) Doesn't hurt too that Sebastian Stan is such a beauty.

They depowered Winter Solider greatly in Civil War.

Ya know, he may be the best hand to hand fighter... canonically he was a world class boxer before the war and taught Steve how to fight (pre-serum he was just to small to cause any damage with the moves and would have an asthma attack before he could ever get anything going) and then you add the serum, the training in all different disciplines that Hydra taught him over the 70-80 years and take into account that in addition to Steve he also trained (as Winter Soldier) the Red Room girls, including Natasha (then Natalia) so the two best hand to hand fighters beyond him were trained BY him. He held his own against Iron Man who hits harder in that suit and Panther whose suit is Vibranium so he doesnt feel the punches as much AND punches harder and fought almost 3 times as many people overall than anyone else between all the agents and security and then the other Avengers. Put them all in a room without their tech and powers and he would likely be the last standing.

Jason Todd reminds me of Bucky, Im not a big DC fan ill tell you that but they do got cool characters , Buck and Jason are both very dangerously skilled fighters that focus on Brutality , Strength and Speed with a gruff attitude. If the two ever faced each other I will go with WS since he's the superior one but this combination they did of Martial arts for Bucky? genius.

The choreographers did a good job of giving him a fighting style of a ruthless Russian assassin, who's only job is to kill and not hold back until the job is done. If Captain America is Kung Fu, Bucky/Winter Soldier is Krav Maga. Absolutely brutal

I have to say... The Russos are so incredibly creative on filming their fights, the way the characters use every single option, even the enviroment, also, they absolutely nail to match the fighting style of every character, and it's so pleasant to watch...

Im so fucking salty that with just a bonk to the head Bucky suddenly got his old personality back. Seriously, even without Steve it seemed like he was already on the path towards redemption. He was buying plums from a dude! HE BOUGHT THEM LIKE A DECENT MAN WOULD! Bucky could have been Bucky without Cap! He was already fully aware of his past relationship with Steve but he didn't need that to realize his mistakes. Pre-helicopter Bucky was the most interesting. He was able to make himself an identity that didn't require him to choose between "Winter Soldier" and "James Buchanan Barnes." Like he told Zemo, he was just "Bucky."

The Rullo brothers are amazing at directing Marvel fight scenes. Joss Whedon ain't got nothing on em, just a bunch of campy, almost PG-like fight scenes that have some occasional cool stuff, such as Cap deflecting Iron Man's beams with his shield into the aliens in Avengers; and even then it comes off as lackluster to me. The thing about the Rullo bros is that they are so good at really showcasing details of the characters abilities in the fight scenes. For instance @ 4:44, here it was shown that Tony Stark has had some combat/martial arts training and can actually take on Winter Soldier; albeit temporarily. It's great cuz you get to notice his fighting abilities whilst it also is a great comparison in showing how skilled the Winter Solder is. And in Captain AMerica: Winter Soldier, you see the diversity of Cap's martial arts expertise, utilising muay thai, BJJ, wrestling suplexes; taekwondo kicks; its crazy man. Then in the next chronological film directed by Joss Whedon, Age of Ultron; there's a massive downgrade in the portrayal of Cap's martial arts combat abilities. Whedon just doesn't have the attention to detail and doesn't provide the same 'comic book realism' the Russo bros can deliver. I am glad they are directing the next Avengers film and not Whedon.
