I especially love the 1983 book and 1990 of this movie. This is a REMAKE of the 1990 The Witches. Horrible, horrible, horrible. What's next tho? Black Snow white? An Afrocentric Sleepy Beauty? Black Anna Green Gables? Black Mulan?? Black Charlie brown? Black House Alone movie? Black SHE-RA? Black I dream of Jeannie ??
@keba7733 жыл бұрын
@@503zzach I know alot of people don't like the remakes, but the depiction of black cinema was not always a wonderful or as special as the all white faces that portrayed the characters, whether animated or real people, or we just weren't allowed to play the characters. Hollywood is playing on our intelligence and taking advantage of the race baiting thats going on, but if they have some winners in there I'm so for it and for my daughter, a darker skin beauty, to be able to see herself in a portrayal of these wonderful stories. They could also make up original stories with a mixed cultural and race cast.

Here's hoping they'll be even more terrifying here. Since this looks like it isn't made from Disney, maybe they can be a little less child friendly. You know, like all Roald Dahl children books are. How did writers like Mr. Dahl know kids needed such fantasy and silliness when life hits hard? I think of a teen I love...his mom died when he was five. I met him when he was seven. He crawled under a bush and cried when he found out. Breaks my heart every time I think about it. His mom would be proud of him today.

From the trailer looks like she did a great job. Plus Anne Hathaway is a brand in itself. She is a gay icon, she is there for the gay baiting... But Im just not interested in any remakes that utilize Black Actors. It’s kinda cheesy replacing characters with black actors especially those who were handed Oscars simply because they were black or fat. Its a kids movie, it didnt have to be too political.

Everyone being like "It's not scary" Ever consider you're the problem with that, not the movie? After all, I've noticed a trend where people in general are harder to scare with fictional stories. Even the most grotesque horrors don't scare most people now. Plus, you're all likely adults and you were first introduced to this story as children. You've probably been exposed to it several times. Ever consider that maybe, it's just not as easy to scare you as it used to be?
