A rise in reported cases of harassment does not necessarily mean there are more cases of harassment. It could just be that the IDF is becoming better at handling these cases which leads to more women choosing to report. When I was a soldier I was never sexually harassed by another soldier, but I was constantly harassed on public transportation, and I spent a lot of time on public transportation unfortunately.

Being sarcastic- but Better be careful when stating facts over their truth - especially when it doesn’t fit the narrative. Thanks for reporting it. I don’t believe it happens as much as they want you to believe it does. Ive worked 40 yrs private/govt and I’ve never seen a male sexually harass a female. No one wants trouble or the hassles of getting fired at the least. Not if one’s career orientated.

When you learn about the Russian female soldiers in WW2 and the Kurdish women who fought ISIS you know there will always be men who don't want women to be put at risk or at least not as many women. Sadly honor is usually thrown out the window on the battlefield, but it's an unavoidable fact. But besides that it is admirable to want to serve despite the risk and general hardships.

Im a bit against it, reason is that I refuse to see or hear that these ladies are offered as fresh meat for blood thirsty beasts (rapers). I know the world advances, but if it was under my command, il ask the ladies to be held as reservists only. Ive heard to many cases of rape and other inhumans treatment of female soldiers, mostly from azeris on Armenian women

When you are surrounded by enemies that don't want your country to exist then you don't have much options when it comes to recruits and you're automatically gonna get a lot of women that will do anything to protect their home just like Russia in WW2. Women should be kept as reserves but it won't be easy in this situation.

My daughter wants to enlist, but obviously she can't as she's only ten haha. When she older and receives the paperwork, I'll be worried of course but incredibly proud to see her in uniform.

Years ago whilst travelling on an Israeli bus, I dozed off. I woke up feeling something jabbing into my left ribs. I opened my eyes and found a pretty Israeli Army girl sitting beside who had also nodded off. The barrel of the Uzi she was carrying was against my side. I very gently nudged her awake to get her to move her weapon.

Sounds like you have the basic problems with women in the military that we have in the U.S. military minus the religious block. I retired from the U.S. Army as a 1SG but prior to retiring visited Israel and was impressed with its military and security apparatus.

I got to visit in the late 80’s and was impressed by the presence of the on and off duty carrying of their service weapons. Saw a few gals at the beach in swim wear with viable outlines of uzi/Mac 10’s in their beach bags. There was an incident a block over one day. A shooting of some sorts. The street was blocked off, an investigation team was done in about 20 minutes and a special cleanup team took 10 minutes and the street was reopened with little trace of a disturbance in under an hour.

God gave the land to the Jews 4,000 years ago. The people of Israel, the Jews, were removed from the land by conquerors, and God allowed it, but it never stopped being their land. Modern Israel gives opportunity to Christian Arabs and Jewish people to thrive and serve throughout their society.

I’ve been to Israel 4 times while in the USN. Went on many tours. There were always Israelis with us for our protection. Enjoyed myself immensely. I talked to many Israeli military members and was very impressed by them. Male and female. I would go back again to visit.

Optional only for religious women. A woman who is from a religious family needs a paper from the rebenical court that states she cannot serve the military due to a religious reason. The option here is whether or not you go and get that paper or not.

Not Israeli or Jewish, but this makes me so proud of these brave young women, and of the IDF and Israel in general. I'm also more or less a pacifist, but pacifism doesn't apply when you're fighting against an enemy who doesn't play by any rules and whose goal is to annihilate you. IDF is one of the finest defense forces in the world and they will prevail.

The IDF hasn't put women in actual combat roles since 1948. we learned our lesson then when coed combat units suffered on average, 40% higher casualty rates than all-male units.

@@talweiss6831 woman serve in Oketz, but not as combatants, and if you are referring to caracal, I would not call that a special forces unit, Caracal has a much lower bar for its men then in any other combat Unit, and an even lower bar for its woman, I've seen countless girls get completely dissapointed and disallusioned after joining. They are also deliberately kept in some of the safest areas to work.

This was one of the most horrific moments in Palestine's history, under the Zionist occupation, which is really saying something. Israel, at the time, launched a ground invasion of Gaza In July 2014. During this period, which lasted around seven weeks until August 26, the United Nations report said that the scale of devastation was unprecedented. Palestinians fired around 4800 rockets and 1750 mortars, killing 67 Israeli soldiers and six civilians. At the same time, Israel carried out 6000 airstrikes fired 14,500 tank shells and 45,000 artillery shells. The death toll among Palestinians reached 2252, 65% of them were civilians, 25% of them were children. On top of that 11,000 Palestinians were left wounded. According UN estimates, at the time, up to 1000 children would be left permanently disabled as a result of the hostilities in 2014. The report also said that post traumatic stress disorder, (PTSD), and other stress related symptoms have increased and about 20%, of the population in Gaza are estimated to be in need of long term mental health assistance, this includes 373,000.

You also gotta respect the IDF in how they allow people that other countries shut out of the military to serve. Dig it- I'm an American with a formally diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder. Despite being able to manage it and earn a college degree, I'm disqualified from military service and my condition is viewed as a liability. By contrast, the IDF- through the Ro'im Rachok program and Unit 9900- sees the potential in the Autistic community and gives us the chance to not only serve in the armed forces with the resources necessary to thrive, but to also be self-sufficient in civilian life. The US could stand to learn a thing or two from Israel.

The British Consul-General in Jerusalem al-Quds says the Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories are “illegal” and hindering negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis. “We are frankly talking with the Israelis about the importance of halting all the settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Philip Hall said in an interview with official television station Palestine TV, which was broadcast on Monday. He also expressed his country’s concern over the acts of violence committed by Israeli setters against the Palestinian people. More than 600,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds. All Israeli settlements are illegal under international law. The UN Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories in several resolutions.

Everyone knows that The UN is corrupted and most of it represented by Arab countries so of course they would call it occupation and illegal settlements. And yes, there are 600,000 Jews who are living in Jewish holy cities like Hebron. What's the problem? They don't hurt anybody. Why can't they live there? There are millions of Arabs who are living in Israel as civilians with full rights as any Jew.

My godfather who is a black man retired Master Gunnery Sergeant from Marine Corps has two gold stars two silver stars two bronze stars four purple hearts and a Navy cross he told me the most badass person he ever fought this was when he was training with the Israelis was an Israeli female fighter pilot. He said she was the s***.

my husband is an ex-soldier and i respect all who wear uniforms to protect their country. Interestingly the private security company my husband co-owns have ex-IDF soldiers in it and a few of them are women.

Israeli women are extremely beautiful. Not just because of their good looks, but there's a certain characteristic of their soul that most western women lack, regardless of looks. I'm not Jewish, and I know I'd never have a chance with one of these beauties, but I envy anyone who does.

no,the females have a much lower bar,more time and more help and they do it with less equipment which translates to less weight. female units as a fighting force are mediocre but they perform an important role which is guarding the borders with peace agreements which is a boring and tedious job,because they do this job the real combat units with the males can spend more time training and occupying dangerous borders.

@@shimonzozut7617 Seems like the women, in and out of military service, care only about getting combat arms positions open so they can get promoted and break thru the glass (or other) ceiling. There doesn’t seem to be a care about being the toughest force in the world. Same thing here in the US. Women are often helped thru training because they can’t meet the standards the men have to meet. This occurred in airborne school, air assault school, and Ranger school. The male commanders let this happen so they can “check the box” and get their promotion. Problem is as these women join their units the constant ground pounding training breaks them down a lot quicker than their males counterparts. This makes for a shitty return on investment for the taxpayer. But at least it’s politically correct, and that’s all that counts for this generation of political leaders. Don’t think the Chinese or Russians or Iranians are concerned with this crap.

@@jritte1968The problem is these women are highly educated so little training with a small caliber 5.56 rifle and securing a safe position could easily break the ceiling unlike most lesser educated males from grassroot background were most educated ones don't have interest! Their views are not respected by superiors and will risk their life for a female colleague in the end the feminist journalist will write the surviving woman as a heroine by mocking the dead male as toxic masculine!

Yeah I met some Israeli ppl years ago that served in The Military and they told me both men and women serve and they are required to serve it’s not an option so they all have military training. War is brutal so I don’t know how I feel about women fighting.

@@ayh9679 none of that is true. The Jews didn't drive anyone from their homes. The situation in Sheikh Jarrah is of Arabs that drove Jews out of their homes and squatters took over yge homes. Decades later, after Israel required thus neighborhood, the squatters were found to have no deed to the homes, the Courts required the squatters to pay rent. They never paid the rent and were being evicted for that reason. Freeloaders.

In Israel, military services for 2 years is compulsory. You have no choice, you serve for two years in the IDF.

we are in modern war time, no more 10,000 thousand soldiers in a big fight, but small hi-teck environment. no more hand to hand battles. i remember myself 40 years ago and saw my kids service ', its a different world even in specal forces . inteligence, operations, equpmeant , tanks , drones, I saw my little girl serve and I tell you : girles some times are a lot better then boyes!

The massive Russian army has a big problem, over this, as it is running out of smart amunition, both sides have daily doesons of casualties, but no open 1000 tanks war the last of which we say in 1973 in Israeli Siriya /Egypt war

@@jonyp1320 Well of course there would still be more high tech things, and only a few months have passed since the start of the war in which you can actually see Ukraine running out of things, with them recieving american type of weapons which their soldiers aren't trained in, they need to start in many cases using actual calculations before shooting artillery instead of letting the computer calculate it and use JPS

@@EL-oj6uq First computer use fo military purposes was artilary, mechanical computers for bombing were already in WWII, laser guided bombs exusts from the the 70 s' . infantry , tanks and artilary are still main batlle tools but its nit their qty that counts but their quality./ we learn from Uhraub russia war that sufisticated tools may couse heavy damage to an archaic army . of course at the end its firepower. but the mass is no more 100000 per battle but 1500 2000 in main battles and drones missiles and smart artilary are ruling. the russiions are using treditional fighting destring the cities as the defenders are using it as shield. at these conditions the quantity realy matters
