*** Seeing the Ad *** at HobbyTron.com for the WORLD'S SMALLEST HELICOPTER, I decided to get one. I don't know if their statement is true or not, but I have not seen anything this small. With no way to make it fly forward or trim it properly (it has no gyro) it can be frustrating to get a full flight. The IR control is not acceptable going out of range when you least expect it. So I did some Mods to help with mine, but for sure this is a novelty toy. Cute, nice to own, but nothing serious. The problem for me is, it actually could've been made much better and still that small.
A TX with proportional sticks, IR LEDs that point up AND down would help a lot too.
What you see is what you get.
Thanks kindly for all your support. I would appreciate if you would please take a moment rate the video, subscribe to be notified when I produce another RC Television show, and if you know of others that would like to see this video, please pass it on.
Best Regards,
Dave Herbert

Hi Dave - I got one of these in London recently. I found it flew pretty good actually. This is what worked for me: - take off without concern for trim, just get it to hover; it will spin around but not go anywhere, - once in a stable hover use the clicker trim buttons to slowly bring it to a level heading - once on a level heading you'll find it slowly tracks forward allowing you to navigate by steering the nose. I think these tips were in the instructions. - the clicker trim buttons

I believe Stephen W. is correct. Try cutting out some tiny squares of aluminum foil. Glue several layers of them together and then glue underneath the nose of the helicopter. Should give it some more forward motion.Great video.

Nightflyyer: you can easily make the copter go forward. Just put a little weight on the nose so it tips slightly forward in flight. For your model, probably a thumbtack or equivalent would do it.

to be fair, these helis are balanced to fly exactly stock. by adding a mirror, tape, and more glue it will disrupt the flight characteristics and make it spin.

Perhaps glueing angled canards to the skids at the COG would cause some of the downward propwash to vector to the rear of the craft to give some forward motion?

Oh, by the way Dave, I'm glad that when I bought my wife's new car this last year that I didn't have to make any modifications to make it go straight or turn or brake properly, that might have been a bit more challenging than your problem here.
@purplenoise2002
@purplenoise2002 11 жыл бұрын
To go forward (but at a fixed rate) you need the center of gravity to be slightly forward of the lifting center. Maybe your mirror can be moved or trimmed to that effect? All 2 channel helis go forward at a fixed speed determined as a result of how they are balanced.

I had the same problem on an air hogs helicopter. It would only travel up and down. To solve that I added a piece of clay to the nose to get it to tilt forward and travel forward. Lead may be more effective though. Hope this helps.

First off.... THUMBS UP for Mario Brothers! 2nd, a very well done video with some great tips 3rd, perhaps with a little forward weight, it would fly forward and you could then turn it for different direction. Thanks and Thanks for your service to the US.

So what would be a good advanced level heli for $300 and under? I'm a Noob but I got a Blade Sr for free and I'm a quick learner. Like i pick up a guitar and after about 3 months I'm decent at it and can make my own stuff.

sir i think you should erase the small line or support beam in the upper chamber of the propeller blade so that it help to increase lift and reduce weight and reduce drag.

Toy Trains? RC Cars? Pfff - In the time of cellphones, smartphone-watches for kids, everything flies! x) More relevantly, its a solid review - I like my remote toys to maybe have bluetooth compatibility or something like it because of how it opens up more possibilities of playing with them, and finding that this one is a bit more analog with only the ability to go up or down instead of being controlled was a little disappointing - I share your ruefulness. Keep going, I hope you find something remarkable, or at least really fun in the near future in the world of small toys.
