If I were stuck with Atari 5200 my argument would have to be: "Last year I played all the way through the Atari 50 Collection and some of the 5200 games held my attention for as much as two to three minutes before I got bored! That's an incredible amount of time!" The Atari 50 Collection is actually way better than you'd think but mainly because it's like a museum walk. The documentary footage and info and context about the games is more fun than the actual games, though some of the ARCADE Atari games are more fun than you'd imagine. I'd never really played any of the arcade versions of those games and was more familiar with the way lower quality 2600 versions. One of the most surreal experiences on Atari 50 Collection is Atari Kart for the Jaguar. You're playing this game on this supposed 5th gen 64 bit console and going "why does this feel WORSE than Super Mario Kart on the SNES?"

I love that one of the gamegear’s positives is its self defense abilities. That begs the question… what is the best video game console/handheld to be used as a weapon? I would say the GameCube, cause you can grab the handle and use it like brass knuckles.

That is a good question. Personally, I'd use the original Xbox 360 model. It weighs so much, if you drop it on someone's head it's like an anvil it'll just crush them.

The corpse does not have a specified age, meaning it could've lived anywhere from 0-120 years old. Assuming we go with the medium here, that's 60 years before it was discontinued! +1 for the corpse!

I prefer PS Vita, it has OLED screen, an active online network and store, many decent games and classic PlayStation hits, Remote Play, media playback, touchscreen and rear touchpad, and dual analog sticks. Does a dead person have any of that?

Master System was popular like 20 years ago. It was popular until the ps2 era. Nowadays the PS2 took the master System place as a cheap console. You are not even born during that period and probably you are from a place in Brazil which does not corresponding to the majority of population ( you are not poor). That's why you cannot understand these statements about master system.

I'd say that the "Master System is still popular in Brazil" statment was at least half true untill early 2010's, when you still could see a lot of consoles being displayed on stores. Nowadays, I think cheap tablets and smarthphones kind of replaced it as the cheap gaming option for kids

Growing up I only saw the Master System one time at a kid’s house. It wasn’t plugged in. This was around 93 or 94 during the SNES-Genesis era. I had no clue what MS was. I remember being shocked that there was a Sega console other than Genesis.

Unpopular Opinion: console wars were only a thing because only children and teens owned video games but could only convince their boomer parents to buy one console. Therefore they had a bias towards the console they owned.

I think you are discounting the fact that in the 1980s there was a Cold War where it truly was Pick 1 and it defined existence. The exclusive games, for game consoles not the West versus the Iron Curtain, encouraged and played into Nintendo's philosophy of exclusivity and market dominance

If I had to defend Sega Master System my argument would be: "Phantasy Star. Have you ever played Phantasy Star? Iconic." And just rely on the fact that literally no one has played the first Phantasy Star so no one could argue against my point. Instant win. EDIT: Also, Sonic 1 8-Bit is better than regular Sonic 1 and I am being 100% sincere on that.

Ok so real talk about the master system; many of its back-ports actually turned out better than the Genesis versions. Castle of Illusion and Shinobi both controlled way better on the master system and many of the art assets were completely re-done for the master system. I wish it was more present in NA than it was. I would have seriously considered one to add beside my NES

I had a Game Gear after a GameBoy back in the times and it felt truly next gen, sleek design, horizontal and it even had a TV adapter. It had a WOW factor. The tames were great too, unique versions of Sonic, Shinobi...

Honestly, you guys should have added insults to the adversary console, pick out its weaknesses and argue about them. This video is more like short presentations of random consoles. A real console war should have way more emotion and stupid arguments than this.

Scott was way too polite to point out that the Atari 5200 was a console that failed so hard Atari just went back to supporting the 2600 like it never even happened. When the 7800 came out it was backwards compatible with 2600 games but not 5200 games, which really says all you need to say.

People (more so diehard fans?) tend to attempt to defend their systems probably in a way to ward off buyer’s remorse. I think that’s what led to the console war thing, and why it’s still ongoing online. When it comes down to it, the system does not matter, it’s just how shitty the company treats its users and how much they are willing to stick with it.

Game gear had a TV adapter, so you could watch TV on it, and there was an adapter that let you play ANY master system game right on your game gear.

Hundred percent, they play the exact same games as the Xbox One and PS4 but they run better. If you care about performance, just buy a PC, not a piece of restricted access garbage where you need to pay $60/year for features PC people get for free. At least Nintendo has a gimmick that's actually useful, as well as exclusives that are actual system-sellers(not to mention, they don't come to PC a year later.) I know I sound like the biggest PC slob right now, but I cannot come up with a good reason to get a Series X or PS5 over one, these consoles have nothing worth playing.
