Considering what just happened with Adam Johnson, can we take another minute to appreciate James Pizzutelli and his actions with Malarchuck

Malarchuk even said that because of how Pizzutelli reacted and with his war experience of being a medic he’s so grateful that Pizzutelli gave him a chance to live. And also agreed that what happened to Adam was indeed a freak accident.

For Dallas who at the time was Minnesota you should have used Bill Masterton. I think a person dying because of injuries is probably the worst injury one can suffer. "William Masterton (August 13, 1938 - January 15, 1968) was a Canadian American professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Minnesota North Stars in 1967-68. He is the only player in NHL history to die as a direct result of injuries suffered during a game, the result of massive head injuries suffered following a hit during a January 13, 1968 contest against the Oakland Seals." - Wikipedia

Gotta say I think Lemieux's back injury was worse than Crosby's injury. Missing a bunch of games that season and then having back surgery the next season in the middle of his prime when he was competing for the title of GOAT with Gretzky was devastating. I know it's hard making these lists though so no hate, good job with the video!

After Crosby’s first concussion, Evgeni Malkin tore his ACL and MCL which ended his season. But the Penguins had plenty of depth in Wilkes Barre that kept the Penguins competitive and helped them reach the playoffs. Then-coach Dan Bylsma won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s coach of the year for his efforts.

I like the idea for this video. A new hockey fan would learn things from this. I have some thoughts about some of these teams though. Rich Peverley is a candidate for worst injury in Dallas Stars' history. It's a similar situation to Fischer, but his career was done and he nearly died. Bill Masterton is also an obvious pick for the Dallas/Minnesota franchise (you used a Hartford example for Carolina). The worst injury by far in Canadiens' history was Trent McCleary getting a puck to the throat. He very nearly died and he couldn't get the air intake he needed to continue playing, so it ended his career. For the Devils, I would say Scott Niedermayer getting elbowed by Tie Domi is a big contender. For the Senators, the Brannstrom one was disturbing, but in terms of impact, Erik Karlsson getting his Achilles severed by Matt Cooke's skate was a far stranger and more severe injury. For the Leafs, the Berard one is a good choice, but Ace Bailey was nearly killed by Eddie Shore as well.
@BuriedUnkind
@BuriedUnkind 6 ай бұрын
I think this is the worst injury for a Toronto Maple Leafs player. In Boston Garden on December 12, 1933, Shore ended the career of Toronto Maple Leafs star Ace Bailey when he hit Bailey from behind. When Bailey's head hit the ice, he was knocked unconscious and went into convulsions. Bailey was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with a fractured skull and was operated on for more than four hours. There were many fears that he could possibly die. He came out of a coma for the second time 10 days later, making a full recovery, but he did not play professionally again.

Perundovichs situation reminds me of 3 recent flyers situations..wade Allison has so much potential but continues to battle through injuries now in ahl. Sad because I really really liked him. Sam Moran is the other. He was a Swiss army knife and could play any position. If I'm not mistaken he came up as a dman and pushed forward as a winger. His career ended too short. Lastly, Nolan Patrick. He was 2nd overall and plagued by concussions. I believe we could've had heiskanen. Peterson, makar..still hurts. It's really sad seeing dreams shattered. Like these players, the only thing they know is hockey and to take that away from them must be so very difficult.

When I was like 9 I was ice skating and when my friend was helping me get my skates off, someone stepped on my bare finger. It only left a dent and scar in the middle of my finger. As a 9 year old when I saw blood my first instinct was to cry, but now that I think about it I don’t think it really hurt that bad because I only noticed it when my friend brought it up. Obviously those skates weren’t too sharp like NHL Skates, but I can’t imagine getting part of your finger cut off by those really sharp blades.

I thought the Blackhawks one would have been Niklas Hjalmarsson getting hit in the throat with a puck and he could not talk, but the thing is after he got hit, he was able to come back into the game

As a Hurricanes fan it’s tough seeing Max Pacioretty in this video man is as unlucky as they come from the spinal injury to knee injuries to broken wrist and foot to tearing his Achilles twice. He was so unlucky I can’t even imagine how good he could’ve been without all the injuries. We in Carolina wanted nothing but the best for Max. Shitty way to leave but it’s a business. Hope he stays safe and healthy with the Caps.

Jets one should be Brian little… he got hit in the face by the puck from a shot by Blake wheeler and ended his career. He was a really good player for the Jets and maybe even a all star.❤

When it comes to gruesome injuries, Roenick's busted jaw while playing for Phoenix comes to mind. After taking a slash that broke his thumb he immediately took an elbow to the face. He skated to the bench and moved pieces of his jaw around by pulling on his teeth. A spectator behind the bench saw this and fainted. He played the next 3 minutes after telling his trainer that he needed to be on the ice for the 5 on 3. Took another check to the head (said with every hit he could hear and feel the bones shifting around) and finally agreed to go to the hospital. While waiting for the doctor to check out his jaw he saw someone get wheeled by that got in a car accident and his leg was severed. At that point Jeremy's jaw hurt a lot less. Doc said they could fix his jaw, but he'd have to stay there for 3 days. He decided to go back to Chicago for his surgery because he didn't want to spend another second in Dallas.

For the Ducks you are right on Kariya but would have put the one involved with Gary Suter back in 1998 full crosscheck to the face no call

Man Vancouver has been unlucky. The other massive injury happened off ice, when Luc Bourdon, the canucks first round pick after the lockout, 4th overall, was killed riding a motorcycle. He was a top defenseman and could have helped Vancouver win the Stanley Cup.

I remember that Pavs injury very well and even as a fan, I agree it was a bad call. It wasn’t even a cross check, it was actually an accident, his skate got caught up with the knights stick and was lifted up to go after the puck sweeping his leg. That’s why they have replays are able to recall previous penalties now. You could see it clearly in slow motion that knights actually didn’t draw a penalty. Then they would end up losing that series on the brink of eliminating the Sharks 😂.

Although Wheelers' injury was nasty and it happened a second time Winnipeg's worst injury would go to Brian Little a slap shot to the ear ruptured his eardrum along with a major concussion among other internal damage. And I think it was Zach Redmond that had his femoral Artery slashed by a skate in a early morning practice
