We've talked a lot about various nen abilities in HxH on this channel, including how nen works as a whole. But we had yet to talk about the nen abilities that are actually bad..

I thought scissor hand could be useful if he was in the medical field. Be great to diagnose people of their illness and tell them how to improve their health. The two white and black Gorilla abilities is actually really good if you need to make an escape. Depending how far they can leave their creator. You can make the white gorilla go in the opposite direction in case your being followed and switch so you lose your stalker. Or make it go through a dangerous obstacle and after getting through switch places. Or a quick switch if your falling and summon it at the edge of a cliff then switch places. The black one, you could make it fall down a cliff and switch it with your enemies. Make it appear in front of a car. Have it jump into fire. Basically make it go to certain death situations and make you enemies be in that situation instead. In fact, say you created a prison without any air and escape proof, just make the gorilla appear in the center, switch it with your target, and boom. They’ll have a slow death on their hands.

This nen is like a high low but it's still low on the power scale cosue everybody and their grandma can beat a gorila in Hunter x Hunter like they where bearing a todler on a whellchair that has turbo on it. I can see how these can be weak Nen abilities but I do like seeing them in action and seeing how the user makes the best use of them in combat or support. I hope that you can make a video going over Nen beast or the best Nen abilities. Awesome video 2Spooky!!

Sorry, I got to disagree with the list. It's true the majority of those abilities are useless in combat... but Hunters aren't all fighters. Baise's ability is useful for recon, information extraction, and even assassination (kiss the target, command that individual to commit suicide, etc). Tsubone's ability may be weak, but imagine if the Hunter Association had her along during the Chimera Ant arc... being able to travel at long distances, being able to fly, etc... it give flexibility to a team.... one of the better support abilities. Even Binolt's ability is useful too... but very different from Pakunoda. We may not have seen the full extend of his ability... If I had to guess, it probably could let the user know of the target's: age, strength, overall health, nen type, diet, blood type, etc... very useful if you need to gather intel on a potential target.

I believe ‘Rider’s High’ is either an enhancement or specialist ability Conjurerors use their aura to create items, but tsubome is transforming her body, something more in line enchanters like Youpi and Ramot

I think it could be a transmutation ability. They are a bit closer to conjurers, and transmuters transform their nen into other things so it seems to fit anyway.

Actually its a conjuration type of nen, its just a subtype of how Conjurers can summon physical objects.

I expected "bad abilities", not just "not combat oriented abilities". Controlling someone for 3 hours from just a kiss is busted for someone on a recon mission.

The effect is busted, but can you force the restriction on anyone really worth using? If they can get where you need, you probably could do a better job yourself. The main case would be certain death recon, where you didn't mind them being noticed and absolutely any info mattered.

@@TheArcSet Just because you *can* fight off an invading force doesn't mean having someone kiss a key figure prior and extract info beforehand wouldn't be better in every way. Hell, learning about the structure and powers of the chimera ants well before hand would've saved lives and potentially let them end the threat before it swelled in power to such a degree.

Gotoh could also just use a gun and use enhancement on it and the bullets to make it vastly superior than his current ability. Or he could just use a gun without nen to have the same effect his ability had without using aura.

There is a catch here, Goto is a butler and guardian of strongest assasin family their job is more to kill enemy minion and give convinien to his master rather than killing stong people so goto and other butler and maid hatsu most likely support type or have strong mean to kill numerous weaker enemy.

You have to have a special affinity/bond with the items you use in your hatsu, otherwise it won't be very effective. If Gotoh didn't care about guns, he might not even be able to make them that much better than his coins, which he cares deeply about.

Replacement-Type of Conjuration-Nen is indeed a Thing. Its kinda what Professor McGonnagal teaches in Hogwars, but in Nen, it's really just the Ability to give-up Something to get something. Ikalgo replacement-conjures his Arm to get a Gun temporarily. I always said so but since the Manga is back, Togashi has really hammered-this-home.

Thanks for this. Honestly, without knowing any other limitations, I'd say that the ability to gorilla-port someone else could be quite powerful in combat, assuming you also had enough combat power to effectively attack the instant after the swap, or cliff/cage/restrain them. Seems like both swaps have more potential than the actual conjurations, but require additional skills to effectively use; if they could be spamm,ed, then they'd actually be decent, if they can't, then they'd only be great in a situational finisher.

If you think about it tho the Game Over ability would be pretty useful against the Second Prince herself, getting around the 1000 lives Cat as they kill themselves to attack her. Since the Cat might not be able to bring her back due to not being able to take the lifeforce of an already dead opponent

It's actually the Manipulator ability "FTP". If you rush to a youtube video to try to be the first to post something, you are instead forced to make a Bungee Gum joke. It's frightening how it can work regardless of the distance between those affected.

Awesome vid, 2Spooky. But there's something I want to remind people. Emitters and Conjurers can both make Nen Beasts, Conjured beasts can be seen by normal people, Emitted abilities not so much. But Emission and Conjuration are on opposite sides of the Hatsu hexagon. It's very unlikely for a nen beast to be both Emitted and Conjured when they can both make nen beasts. The only exception is probably the Kakin Succession War pot, which I'm gonna bet is a conjured item that makes beasts Emitted by Kakin Royalty without their consent or control. Edited: grammatical correction.

I don't know, I think what's good for Boa Hancock in One Piece is good for someone like Baise since they're abilities involves love manipulation of some kind. Although not as deadly as the "Love-Love fruit", her kiss ability is is OP, which is probably for the best why she was killed pretty early in the series.

I would say that Razor's 14 Devils are the better version then Goreinu's White & Black Goreinu, and Shachmono's Eleven Black Children or even Neferpitou's Puppets.

Nen battles rarely happened since nen user's are rare. Most hunters didn't specialize in combat

True. True, though Netero did specifically reformat the hunter's association to try and create strong combatants for him to fight, so the current generation all have combat levels above most soldiers, especial as a lot didn't know about Nen when they passed.
