The worst running shoes for stress fractures

Are your current running shoes putting you at risk for a stress fracture?
One common reason for too much bone stress is that a runner didn't have enough cushioning because they were using a shoe that was too stiff, or wasn't padded enough, or soft enough, and they were running on concrete or asphalt.
That run, in those particular running shoes, beat up the bone too much and then the bone started to crack and develop into a stress fracture.
This video by Dr. Christopher Segler talks about what the worst running shoes for stress fractures.

Great info! What shoes would you recommend for me I am healed from my first stress fracture in 3rd metatarsal. I feel like I need something with more cushion. I'm not a runner but I love to take long walks...Thanks for any help

hi. im a drummer and have a prolonged (5 year) stress fracture in my right foot from the bass drum pedal. i also made it worse by running. is there anything that you can recommend for my feet? i need to be able to play drums for two hours a day.

Doc I went for rehab and they said that my arch collapses when I step what does that mean? Does that cause more stress on my tibia?

Yes...specifically on the medial tibia.

i have very high arches and i run mostly on pavement around 100km/week. only running shoes i have are vibram five fingers🤷‍♂️

I can't get fitted for any shoes that fit a women's ankle to toe width correctly (wide toe, narrow ankle). Then I'm left with 2 options, neither of which are appropriate.
