What one step in ball of the foot (bottom of the foot in the middle) or just walking or just walking and feel a bone in the mid region with every step, what would be most likely cause and what are treatment options?

Does metatarsal stress response include metatarsalgia? I find waking on hard surfaces barefoot very painful (only the right foot). I am presently undergoing myofacial release amd shockwave therapy......very very painful. No swelling, no visual cues whatsoever. When I exceed 8 or 9 kms, the three middle toes start hurting and then eventually after the 13th or 14th km, they go somewhat numb. Any pointers?

I have high archs so I use special insoles but suddenly (after at least a year after starting with this insoles) my ball of the right foot started to hurt, but I kept running and now I can't run for 2 months and I don't know if I will use the special insoles anymore.

My 2nd,3rd,4th head metatarsal got fractured doctor suggested for operation by wire fixation but I dint go through it now it has been 2nd half months now I shd know that will heal by itself if it so how long does it need to heal...and my age is 19 plzzz do rply

So you’re saying a subacute subchondral fracture of the second metatarsal head can cause pain in the sesamoid/ball of foot area? Also you believe that will heal? Thank you so much.

Whether or not it will heal all depends on 3 things: 1) the extent of injury. 2) What you do to promote healing and 3) Whether or not you are able to reduce the stresses at the fracture site enough to facilitate fracture repair.

Published research shows a range of 4-52 weeks. (Sounds like a joke, but it is not). The individual athlete's time to "healing" and return to athletic activity depends on many factors, many or which you can control.

Just curious...how id you find out you had a stress frature?
