Nice to see this covered on a big channel. I liked the concept of a character using virtua fighter characters as his/her *insert pokedigiwhatever* It's something of fun game but very cringe in design. If anything this should have taken advantage of other IPs too to at least try to be the Kingdom Hearts of Sega lol. Also this was on the ps2 as well. Fun fact in japan its called Virtua Fighter: Cyber Generation and hints at the organization that held the vf tourneys won and captured the fighters. Kind of a dark concept for a kiddie game.

Played this game when I was a kid and loved it. Looking back at this I just can't laughing at how flawed it is. Still love it though more out of nostogia.

I remembered playing and eventually beating Virtua Quest a very long time ago. Yes, you'll learn multiple moves from the same fighters. If I remember correctly, there'll be obstacles that require higher ranked moves than what you learn early on, and you'll have to come back to those stages later.

I love how the protagonist is clearly portrayed as a 10-11 ish years old kid, yet he sounds like a 20 years old high-school dropout. While Resident Evil's original voice cast proudly stepped into the "so bad it's good" territory, this game never left the 'so bland it's shite" camp.

This is the Virtua Fighter that we need...not the Virtua Fighter that we deserve...

I loved this game when I was a kid! I never finished it because it lacked any of the clarity of an actual good game, so I pretty much got stuck and gave up. And because no one else played it, I couldn't find any guides online. Good times.

I remember seeing screencaps of this in Nintendo Power. I was really young at the time, so this game seemed cool. Looking at this now, I'm super glad I got Custom Robo instead...

I'm getting serious flashbacks to this baffling Marvel Comics anime I saw on TV when I was in Taiwan last year. Wikipedia tells me it is called "Marvel Disk Wars." And it was THIS. Generic anime children summoning Black Panther and the Hulk to fight generic anime villains using some sort of wrist-mounted data chip thingy. Iron Man was the robot sidekick (!?). It was in Mandarin so I couldn't tell what was going on, but I have to assume those guys usually have more important things to do than drop everything to be summoned like Pokemon to help these anime kids with their anime problems. Oh, and it's also a video game, in case it wasn't obvious from the premise. Maybe a subject for a future episode?

This feels more like the Virtua Fighter anime of the 90s mixed with the plotline of the games, but EXTRA SHONEN! as if some henchman backed up all the analysis data of the fighters on to the dark net, which survived into the future as Memories AI that can choose their users.

I remember playing the demo at Walmart. I was in Middle School at the time and I genuinely enjoyed it even though I didn't get into Virtua Fighter at the time. A part of me wanted to play this, then Sonic Heroes came out a few years later and I forgot about this game.

....Looooordy lordy, I remember this because I played the demo on one of those old OPM demo discs so many times. ....Never actually saw the game in stores, though. ....But on the subject of obscure games, not so much *like this*... (I mean... *technically* Shenmue counts, but...) there's always 'Cannon Spike' for the Dreamcast, which, far as I know, has two major issues as to actually obtaining it legally. One: **Dreamcast.** Two: The cheapest I can find is $150 and like hell am I gonna suggest games at that kinda price point. There's also Zombie Revenge, which is more reasonably priced, but still, *Dreamcast*. ....You have three copies of Dynamite Cop, as all people should, if I remember properly... only weird games I don't think you've played that I can think of at the moment are Skygunners or Gungrave: Overdose for the PS2, and I'm not sure about *either* of those.

I absolutely don't know why this game was 99% of my childhood pre-age 10. I was more obsessed with this than fucking Paper Mario and Sunshine. I have nothing but regret. ...Although, holy shit those combos were fire for 6 year old me. Also as someone who played a significant amount of this, the Virtua Souls get significantly harder as you progress.

I played one on my ps2 and i kinda like it . The only problem i had is the button response was somehat lagging. Maybe if Sega had developed this game with ps4 the button response would be better. I played virtua fighter within Yakuza game and the button response is pretty solid unlike here of course.

I actually beat this game somewhere around my early teens. Had to put it down a few times cause the last few areas are CRAWLING with mob ambushes! The player is left with limited options against group fights. Especially when every tap stuns your character! The amount of times I got combo to death... In the very last area of the game, I beat EVERYTHING with two simple strategies... Kiting + hit-n-run. Literally drawing multiple circles, waiting for my so to refill, unleash powerful mob clearing or boss damaging moves, and them repeating till dead. Even the final boss was no match against these strategies! Using regular combos? Too slow! Man, the feeling of relief and accomplishment after beating the game and seeing the end credits... I can recognize it being a rather poorly made game, but it's definitely my childhood guilty pleasure. Also, I love that wire. SO! MUCH! P.S. This is my first Virtua game.

This game is fucking weird but I liked. If only platforming controls weren't stiff as dicks. Camera control is by far my biggest issue. Not to mention it was kind of a missed opportunity to have God Hand-esque combat all the way. Damn near everything that can attack used VF animations so why not make custom combo strings out of them.

Damn, this was one the first and only few fighting games I had cuz my parents couldn't afford the new games at the same. They got it bcuz it was on sale, but I really did like this game for what it was and am happy cuz its one of those things that made me into what I am now :')

I remember as a kid getting Prince of Persia sands of time because it had good reviews at the time. Virtua quest was cheaper, I assume due to worse reviews. I played both and loved this game much more: the music, cheesy edgy costumes characters wore that would be uncomfortable to wear irl, the Jank yet satisfying combat… I just couldn’t beat the final stage (where they make u fight multiple bosses w no health items) smh
