Wow, a piano that teaches how to play. I'm sold on that feature alone! But I recently purchased the p255b so I'm still very happy. Great presentation!

Thank you for your very detailed demos on the range of Clavinovas. You explain very fairly and very clearly the major features and sound differences, as well as how important it is to know how long we intend to keep the piano before having to get a higher grade instrument. ePianos is very lucky to have such a talented presenter to showcase their offerings. You made my day! I am getting a keyboard piano for Christmas to relearn how to play (6 years of classical piano as a teenager), and I would definitely buy from ePianos, but I live in Napa, California. It is always a rare pleasure to share time with a beautifully-trained pianist like yourself, and I am so grateful for your generous teaching! You’ve helped me make a decision to buy a better piano, a Yamaha for sure, either the CLP 645 or the CVP 709 Series, because I used to compose music on the piano and I can see the latter would give me far more creative support. If you have an opinion on my intended choice, and the time to let me know., I would so appreciate it,. Heartfelt thanks again for a stellar series of demos!

I had a play on one of these and the sounds are just out of this world. Though I had limited knowledge of chords the piano made it sound like I was a professional, in other words it did the work for me. I like to experiment at home on my old clavinova (2001, not sure which model) trying out mixture of chordal progressions and layered effects.with this clavinova I feel lost in the realm of dynamism and atmosphere. However Im definately going to have to learn how to use this piano along with general music theory that needs polishing or brushing up on. I think what matters is that i feel inspired and i am engaged in playing the piano. I am lucky to live in a household that ownes a yamaha digital piano. I am blown away by what this instrument can do though :) one question: Can you do a tutorial on layering effects, I really like some of the synth effects on the new clavinova. perhaps like tweaking sounds or something special with regards to instruments on the piano. i see there arent many tutorials on this online at the minute but would appreciate any insight into what this instrument is capable off with regards to its unique sounds.

Nice presentation. Given the limitations of sound reproduction on the internet, perhaps I’m mistaken but it seems this instrument very well suited for jazz and less so classical music. Ill have to sample it in person to make this assessment. The Imperial Grand and upright were certainly different in quality but Im not sure how authentic they were. Again, internet distortion surely a factor. Thanks for the demo!

That piano is about 9 notches above where I am ATM haha. It may have lessons for a beginner but the price is a huge gamble for someone starting out. I'll likely go get a Kawai es110 or Roland fp-30 soon. From there I'd likely get the fp-90 a lil later on. Tho I must admit I'd absolutely love to have the clavinova 709!

I'm lovin it! Good humble pleasant presenter. How much do these run in US dollars? Maybe it's the atmosphere but the sounds don't sound quite as good as Jools Holland's CVP-609. Oh, yes please demonstrate as Jools did the glissando and not bend feature with the pedals.

Would you be willing to give me a really good quality look at the under side of the piano? I am thinking of leg space or is there room for my wheelchair. I was also interested in seeing the axillary pedal used. I am going to be either buying this model or CVP-705 locally. I have a long term physical disability. I can't see or get under it. My upper body is healthy. Music is a great healthy escape. The photos on the Yamaha web site are limited and aren't the view I'd like. Thank you.

Greetings, I have several questions. Can you record your voice and play at the same time or is it a two step process? Also, what is the difference between the Yamaha smart piano CSP and the CVP-709. I am looking for a piano that can teach me play with modern chord style, has rhythms you can play along with full fingering and voice recording capability. I don't want to pay more than $3,000

I had a CVP 65... great early model. Just got a 701. But, my disc drive on the 65 did break last year. I was able to find a replacement drive on Ebay, and luckily for me, I found someone fairly nearby who knew how to install it... overall cost, including the drive was under $300. The 65 was geat, but the 701 is awesome.

I was wondering what is the cheapest option with Yamaha if what I'm looking for is a step up from the GHS key system? It doesn't need a huge load of features, but it must have really good keys. Very helpful videos you make.

Hi, that would be the Yamaha P255 or YDP162. They are the cheapest however if you're really looking for something that never need upgrading perhaps look at the Yamaha Clavinova range, they start at around £939. Hope that helps.

CVP 709 is definetely top range piano but would you please make comparison between CVP 709 and CVP 705 video? Since now both are wooden keys. How could you justify extra money paid for CVP 709 instead of CVP 705? In previous CVP 609 & CVP 605, the upper model used wooden keys compare to GH3 plastic in the lower model.

+Agustinus Utama I own both CVP 705 & CVP 709. These are what CVP 709 has that the 705 doesn't have 1) graded linear hammer 2) more styles & 30 audio styles 3) has S.Art2 where 705 doesn't have 4) Bigger screen 8.5" as opposed to 7" 5) pedal is sensitive.. 705 pedals act as a switch but supports half pedalling personally, either one of these are good for worth your money. The 701 on the other hand, I wouldn't recommend.

@petemasterson8852
@petemasterson8852 8 жыл бұрын
+Brian Hiorns Note: I have a Tyros 4. The Yamaha Tyros instruments feature a wide range of piano instruments plus you can purchase premium piano (and many other) voices from Yamaha. The OEM Tyros pianos generally are of decent quality in tone ... and I often use one of theem as part of an instrument group to play various songs. (I do not own any of the premium piano voices, though I have many other premium voices.) The primary difference between the Tyros and a regular (electronic) piano is that the action of the keys are not truly "piano-like" -- rather, they are "semi" weighted and respond more like an organ than like a piano. In a previous life, I was an accordionist and I prefer the action of the Tyros (and many other electronic keyboards) to the keyboard action of a piano. (Indeed, I have to turn off the "initial touch" feature as I do not usually hit the keys hard enough to get a good sound with it.) However, most pianists, dislike the action of keyboards that don't "feel" like a piano. I note too, that the amplification system used with your Tyros will affect the sound output. Based on the price and build quality, I suspect that Yamaha's higher-end digital pianos have a superior (built in) amp and speaker system as compared to the "standard" speakers that can be purchased with a Tyros. (However, listening to the many online Tyros videos, I've never noticed any significant lack of sound quality.) Since I already have a "PA" system, with powered mixer (400 watts) and 12 inch speakers (with good quality tweeter and midrange) in my studio, I have never used (or purchased) the standard Tyros speaker system.

Hi there, can you confirm if when using the backing of drums and guitar as you showed, will it match your playing if you are playing in a rubato free style such that you are deliberately not keeping in a constant time such that you may wish to pause at a particular section in a song for effect and then pick up the beat again or does the backing only keep a constant beat? I hope I have explained that correctly?

In a previous review, I criticized the sound of my new Yamaha Clarinova piano. As it turns out, the piano was not properly tuned when it was delivered to my home. Go to the Menu and keep pressing the button until you get to "System Menu." Press the button until you see "Tuning". Hit the forward arrow and you will see "Master Tune." Hit the arrow again and you will see a sliding scale with a number on top. You can use the forward and back arrow keys to raise or lower this number. For most purposes, use the default setting, which is 440. It took me about 2 minutes to do this and now the piano sounds great! This very important information is listed on a single page of the instruction book in very small type! I would forget the book entirely-it's basically useless-do trail-and-error to find the best piano and organ settings for you.
@ePianoscouk
@ePianoscouk 7 жыл бұрын
Yes you are quite right the default setting is normal tuning. Every new and used digital piano that we supply comes in correct tuning with no alterations required.

Does anyone make a digital piano that will, as you play, print out the notes that you are playing? This would be the original Songwriter's Utopia! I know they have a LOT of software out there...most of it way more complicated than it has to be, but I'd like a piano that does it all-in-one if there is such a thing.

@petemasterson8852

+Debbie Benfield Some electronic keyboards allow you to "record as midi" -- this is, essentially, what you are seeking. Once the midi recording is made, you then transfer it from the instrument to the computer (some might allow a usb connection to record the midi signal directly to the computer). Once you have the midi file, you can open it with any number of programs to view and edit the notes in the file. I prefer the user-supported program MuseScore (musescore.com) as that program allows direct manipulation in notation (as it is a notation program). It also plays back the score you've transcribed (with choices of instruments) -- this is particularly helpful in catching notation errors.
