For context: This only counts for certain parts of England (there's plenty of accents in england alone, let alone all of Britain e.g. scotland, wales etc), particularly the south. As a northern english man we don't do the long "A" sound like southerners and we also rarely pronounce T's (In my county of yorkshire, "the" is often removed from a sentence and shortened to " t' " as in "I'm just goin' to t' pub up t' road")

A good practice for the “soft R” he talks about that I use is “Richard the Third”. You can easily see the difference between an American pronunciation and a more British one. I just say it over and over until my R’s round out.

I am British born, but have lived in Australia most of my life. My natural accent is more Australian with little hints of British in certain words. I can, however, perfect an Australian and British accent completely. I can also perfect an American accent. In fact, it's one of the great skills I have - being able to speak in different accents. I use it on a daily occurance, and the way I achieved this was just being observant and listening intently. Practice helps also, of course.

As a speaker of UK English, this isn't very accurate to how we sound collectively. Below are some tips that can help you. • Pronounce vowels a bit longer than you normally would. • Pronounce your R's at a lower tone in formal environments. • It's completely fine to say stereotypical phrases, you can even change up some things and put them in your own words. • Be picky and notice ever difference between your accent and UK English, these little things are vital. • I will answer all questions to the best of my ability.

@@marionpapka7652 It is really dependent on your environment and city. However, as a collective group, then yes, we often do. I cannot give a good example, but if you listen carefully then you should expertee it. United Kingdom English is a delicate, sophisticated language and accent. It won't take long to learn it if you can point out every little difference between the United States English and the UK English. Good work, keep it up!

"British" is not really an accent - there are many accents all across Britain. However if what you are trying to teach is the Received Pronunciation of England (what people usually think of as "british")- a lot of this is just wrong. Nobody says "bat" as baat for example. Best way to learn an accen? Listen to a lot of native speakers and mimic individual words and phrases. Your mouth will get used to the different phonetic pallette over time.

I’m a manc and I can definitely say that there are many accents. Further up you got a Yorkshire accent, further you’ve got a Scottish. To the right of Manchester and down you’ve got brummies, to the left you’ve got the Welsh, which has many accent. There’s many accents

As a British person, I wanna give u a tip on the r sound. Instead of making it less prominent( which might be a tad difficult) switch it with an h sound(unless there is a vowel or vowel sound after that) like in art say it as aht. That is how I speak it but it may vary as there is no 'British' accent which is followed all over Britain
