I'm glad that you're doing this tribute! Another former member of WASP died this year, Bob Kulick, brother to KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick. He did the incredibly beautiful guitar solo on "The Idol" by WASP, I hope you check that one out as well since it's one of their most beautiful ballads! He actually played guitar on this very album that you're listening to here as well which is very fitting!

I think Bob Kulick also did the guitars on Meat Loaf's Bad Attitude album (1984) - perhaps the most "metal" album you'll ever hear from Meat Loaf, probably due to, in no small part, Bob's guitarwork.

I own a few of their albums (Self titled, Inside the electric circus, a best hits compilation and the Crimson Idol) and inspiring someone to join the W.A.S.P. brotherhood. Cheers Chris. Nikki had more of a commercial vision for Crue and they were edgy but accessible Blackie wasn't trying to get on the radio he was making music that actually had meaning and sadly it went way over most people's heads and they couldn't get past the shocking bloody live shows or the name.

We're losing many musicians we grew up on, BUT, they don't die because as long as their music is still being played and enjoyed then the memories of the musicians live on forever. R.I.P. Frankie Banali. You made a great drummer joining WASP for their sound but no true fan will forget QUIET RIOT.

Also I want to mention on the crimson idol. I truly think Blackie did an excellent job on the album. Such a underrated rock opera. In my opinion its the best rock opera. Of course Ziggy Stardust and The wall is amazing, but the crimson idol is #1 for me. Blackie knows how to make good music AND rock operas. Hes a musical genius. I think the neon god is good as well. But its longer than necessary. But still amazing albums on that serious.

This album was a Blackie solo album, it wasn't supposed to be released under the WASP name but Blackie was legally obligated to do it so Frankie technically was never a member of WASP. That said this album has easily his best drumming and is a huge reason why it's one of my all time favourite albums. That and Blackie's always awesome vocals.

🤔, not sure if invisible boy is a song you smile about when listening to it. Supposed to stir a sentiment of anger in the face of sibling inequality. The whole album is a testament to Blackie’s upbringing and consequential choices and paths taken by him during his life, and his rise to fame and infamy. This album is pure genius.

Another one is Finger Eleven's " Greyest of Blue Skies" colds album taught me how to get things out and I wasn't the only one who truly felt this way. And finger Elevens album taught me how to stand. This is kind of a trademark of W.A.S.P.'s sound, that constant drum activity going on. Never much of a backbeat, just constant fills, always at the forefront. Keeps the energy level high, even if it can get tiresome after a while.

This entire album got a makeover/do-over in 2017, re-branded as "Re-Idolized"... with Blackie's new Christian faith, he went back and "cleaned it up" (lyrically at least), and added some extra tracks - which are quite good (one of which appeared on the previous release Golgotha in 2015). I imagine he did it, probably cos this essentially serves as his "autobiographical" album (though he denies that assertion, stating only there are similarities between himself and "Jonathan"). My biggest gripe about the new version is all the profanity was "PG-ed" to cleaner terms and language. Weak sauce in my opinion. While the new tracks are great I still prefer the original release for the truer, rawer depiction of the story. The new version is more emotive and almost "spiritual". My only compliant of both versions is that those little acoustic "interludes" were not isolated as their own tracks. (I had to do it myself, lol)
