For me it's kind of a habit. I collect my thoughts on a show after I finish it and decide how much I liked it. Sometimes I change my rating after a couple of weeks, but that doesn't happen very often. Rating has become part of the whole experience, I guess.

Some shows are more dependent on their endings than others. Overlord, for example. I ain't buying shit until I see the ending of Overlord, because it's literally pouring all of its eggs into the one basket that is the ending, and the score for the entire series will be how good or bad the ending is for me. Whereas Konosuba is funny as is, I hope it gets a good ending, but a bad ending won't invalidate everything that came before.

How I rate anime: -Starts at perfect 10 -reduces 1 point on each things I didn't like. Example: Demon Slayer -1 for Zenitsu -1 for "lifeless" world Total: 8/10 That's just how I do it tho

Fairy tail sucks and half of the powers are stolen from one piece. The story is so bad, also THE ANIMATION AND INTROS ARE SO LAZY- and the fan service hurts to look at. Remove the fan service and ya got a show made for 5 - 10 yr olds.

The reason I have that as my pfp is because the art is beautiful, as someone who is an artist this art style especially inspires me alot. My pfp before was the mc from bungou stray dogs because the art was beautiful not particularly because I am a fan of the anime/manga. I love that series and I would give it an 8/10. It's not perfect (the ending of season one was definitely...weird but okay). I still read it every month though. At the same time, I don't have an anime list via MAL anyway becase my opinions change over time anyway.

Erased's ending was contradictory to the whole show, while Guilty Crown's ending, even though bad, still didn't remove his love for the show. Plus, Erased was 12-13 episodes, and it was after episode 7 where it started to go downhill, while Guilty Crown is 20+ episodes, and it started getting shit at the last few episodes.

your video about roasting youtubers and fans actually got me to make a Mal list. Still forgetting some of them. And sadly MAL isen't all encompassing. A lot of manwha or manhua or light novels i read that are not represented... So yea my book copy of all the things i read still trumps it. But yea. (also since a lot of them were old i remembered them but decided to not rate them as its been years since i watched or read them and or didn't take the time to conciderate their spot.) Other bias is some show deserve high rankings. But compared to others of the same rank they fall short. But some of them still are worth retaining their number despite the lineup being a weight class above. Fun to site. Once you take the hours to make it to date... Now i need to make a backup to not lose my current chapter list. But very fun and i guess thanks for somehow convincing me to make one. Weird thankyou.
