Awesome video! I've been struggling with my peep sight for the past two years ( right handed, left eye dominant + getting older). I added a nose button but kept my peep. After watching several videos, I'm pulling my peep and giving the nose button by its self a shot!!

Thanks for the information. I'm a Olympic style recurve archer who has just got my first compound. Loving the difference. As someone who has glasses I have to say I'm really struggling with the peep, not so much target panic but the fact that my sight picture has drastically shrunk. Definitely will be giving this a go. Thanks once again.

Great video! Something you didn't mention but I think is also a pro of the nose button is for new shooters. If you start out with a peepless system it forces you to anchor properly every time and then after a lot of practice you can always add a peep

Late to the party but having started with a peep, I believe it built more of a concrete understanding of my anchors. If you're struggling starting with no peep, add one for a while to get your foundation built then pull it back out when comfortable
@ApexPredatorOutdoors

@coreyedwards187 I had the opposite problem. When I took the peep out it fixed a lot of my other issues. Once I got comfortable and more importantly, accurate without it, I added it back on

When you are working on ANY form issue make sure the target is high enough off the ground so you will shoot on the level- not aiming or having to bend down.
@ApexPredatorOutdoors
@ApexPredatorOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Actually it's good for practice to do that from time to time. If your anchor or nose moves off of the button when aiming down, it means you are not bending correctly, and this can cause issues when shooting from a tree stand or saddle, or even just up or down hills. But here I just tossed the target there for demonstration purposes. It was literally 5 feet away because it was convenient. Lol

Always enjoy your videos partner I learned quite a bit off of my question is I my question is I use the easy V set with no peep Do you close your left eye or do you keep both eyes open if so how do you compensate for that thanks buddy and have a great day.
@ApexPredatorOutdoors
@ApexPredatorOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
I think part of the equation that a lot of people don't compensate for is how dominant one eye is over the other. Everybody's out there saying you need to be shooting with both eyes open, and it's true that can help, but for instance I am very right eye dominant. That means whenever my left eye is open that it's not helping much with my depth vision. Doing so can sometimes lead to distortion whenever I'm in a tree where there's a lot of objects close to me. Conversely if I'm shooting in a wide open field then what I like to do is close one eye get the pin on Target and then slowly open my left eye. Most of the time though I'm shooting with my left eye closed. This can be further illustrated with how some people can wear sunglasses when they shoot, because they have a good balance of left and right eye providing that visual signal to the brain. Me however if I try to shoot with sunglasses on all I see is the nose piece of the glasses.

Hey man I'm a right handed shooter but can't see out of my right eye... So there for I can't see thru a peep with a comfortable anchor so what do you think is my best option
@ApexPredatorOutdoors
@ApexPredatorOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Either go peepless, or shoot left handed. I can imagine that would be difficult... I have a similar issue where people tell me to shoot with both eyes open, but I have a heavy right eye dominance, and with both eyes open it messes me up. Much like shooting rifle if you have a heavy left eye dominance it's better to shoot left-handed.

Don't have to have an IQ bow sight, just have to practice. The bow sight is just a circle and a stick with a glowing tip. Anyone can shoot 150 yards as long as you trust your consistency skills and your gear, that's the big idea.

@ApexPredatorOutdoors
@ApexPredatorOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
@@jkpisces Im using the IQ Define Pro in this video, recently I switched to the IQ Pro One becuase it is lighter and I already have a Rangefinder. If you are using a spot hogg sight or any other for that matter, just make sure you start with a nose button to maintain a consistent anchor, and practice just the drawing and anchoring over and over again until it is super consistent. Then sight your sight in to where that lands. Dont bring your anchors to your sight, rather make sure your anchor points are rock solid, and then bring your sight to your arrow's point of impact. Does that make sense? Let me know if that doesn't help. I may have to do a KZfaq short video on this.
