Description: Overcoming health anxiety begins with acceptance. Acceptance that the symptoms of anxiety that you feel are related to the cognitive and behavioral patterns you run daily. These anxious patterns most likely began at an early age, and was fed throughout your life.To begin overcoming health anxiety naturally we must believe we have options as far as our thoughts go, and understand that a thought isn't a fact.
This powerful anxiety guy podcast episode will give you the tools you need to begin the convincing process for your subconscious mind. When we accept that tension is a big factor keeping us from overcoming health anxiety our lives can change. We can go from the darkness to the light by implementing what is learned in all of the anxiety guy podcasts, and go even deeper through the end the anxiety program located at www.anxietyexit.com under My Program.

Woo hoo! I am a hypochondriac. I am not sick. I am healthy. I live in a healthy body. My body is a chemical factory that has the ability to heal itself and come back into balance when I release the resistance. I am moving toward wellness today. I will be moving more toward wellness tomorrow. You are the only person who gets it Dennis! Thank you! Namaste 🙏

I had a setback today. I ended up back in the ER. No Panic, just worry. I have this video on repeat at the moment, Im about to get discharged, healthy as an ox. I'm going to chalk it up to a bad a day and keep moving forward. I was able to do a few firsts with my anxiety today. I'll make sure I write those on my success journal tonight.

You’ve been with my for the last five years Dennis. And I’ve listened to a lot of your videos and others. This is one of the best out there. Very direct. Very real. Very true. I’d love to be interviewed by you for your pod! I think my story would help others. It’s ‘others’ accounts of their own experiences that make the fear in anxiety lessen or go altogether. For so long you think you’re the only one. Thanks So much 💫

God knows how hard i have been fighting to over come my anxiety. But something just seem's to hold me back, and its honestly my constant thinking that something is wrong with me. One week i thought i had cancer due to a mole, this week im sure I have a brain tumor. But I know I'm the one causing all these symptoms due to my over thinking.I have constant headaches, dizziness, see floaters on one eye, as well and constant shaking now. All these symptoms just started I hate this so much I'm thinking of starting my anxiety medications its not healthy for me to continue putting my body thru this. I'm waiting on my paycheck to invest that on your program!

I found you yesterday and have been watching almost non stop. You are speaking directly to me, as others have said. I wasn't always this bad (although I"ve had GAD for decades) but I have been terrible for the past year or so. My brother has GAD, too, and spends all his time monitoring his body and keeping detailed notebooks of his health, exercising 6 hours a day in his apt. My mom was a terrible worrier, too. I'm now so exquisitely tuned into my bodily sensations that, when I"m home, I"m constantly on guard or actively checking myself for some condition. Dennis, How do I EVER stop this miserable obsessive checking which is ruining my and my poor husband's lives. Also, I'm very doctor phobic so going to one is a huge deal and I can't sleep for days in advance. By BP is usually up in the high 160's when I go to the office. Thank you for your wonderful, wonderful videos and I hope to join your program soon.

Thank you very much for this. I really liked the advice about making a 30 day contract. I regularly feel my hope shatter when I start seeing improvement and then expect too much change too fast - and it's a repeating cycle, even though I tell myself to take it easier the next time. It's definitely a trap for me, so I need to commit to that longer timeline and then tape it somewhere where it's in my face. Great podcast and really well presented! Thanks again!

The Anxiety Guy: hey dennis. its ray. what was your biggest problem today or one that you have had recently, and what is your first general step you take toward solving a problem you know is bigger than you want it to be?
@TheAnxietyGuy1
@TheAnxietyGuy1 7 жыл бұрын
No problem is bigger than me at the moment Ray (in a non egotistical way). I've constructed this person to understand every problem has a solution, and every 'feedback' is failure. It's not so much the problem for people, it's how much self mastery they have, and how knowledgable and commited they are. Of course there are other factors, but it all starts with the thee P's: Patience, Perfect Practice, Persistence. Love the engagement hope that helps.

Sheagan Renganathan As long as someone sees himself as being Anxiety, nothing changes. Dis identifying from who you currently believe you are (identity), turning your values and beliefs around through CBT, and learning rational thinking patterns is the key. At www.anxietyexit.com you'll find my program that provides a structured approach to overcoming this naturally. Any questions let me know.

Just found your podcast and videos a few days ago. I can relate to so much. I have felt like an idiot for going to the ER so many times. I have been to therapy, take xanax as needed (which I want to stop), started meditation over a year ago (really helped a lot) and try to stay active with either exercise, basketball or at least walking and while I am a lot better, I still feel anxiety. What would you recommend for someone who has a disease (I have Crohn's disease) and has legit concerns and physical symptoms yet most of the time the anxiety is worse than the actual health systems? When I have indigestion or stomach issues along with sinus issues and allergies which come from side effects of meds, it all makes my anxiety worse. I feel lightheaded and no motivation and just overall anxious and it's frustrating. Thanks for the videos and again, just wondering how we can work on anxiety with legit health issues.
@TheAnxietyGuy1
@TheAnxietyGuy1 7 жыл бұрын
Truth is 9 out of 10 people that walk into a doctors office and come out with a disease have emotional components attached to that disease. I would say the best thing you can do is begin a CBT based program specifically for health anxiety and generalized anxiety such as this one: anxietyexit.com/my-program/ and begin tackling the underlying causes of what you're experiencing. Our minds are always open to new suggestions, thoughts, beliefs and with these come a different way of feeling. The problem is the commitment aspect with so many people, they just don't put in the 4 weeks to turn their irrational thinking patterns into rational so it becomes a habit. Thanks so much for the follow.

Love the videos and podcasts dennis! question: I've been recording an axiety diary fir the past 45 days. I record and post on youtube. is this helping or hurting me? also in regards to being a hypochondriac, when you talk about facing a problem rather than avoiding it do you mean go to the doctor to get checked or do you mean assume it's just anxiety? my hypersensitivity to my physical body allows me to be aware of every feeling in my body and sometimes especially recently I've been very conscious of my ribs and my back and I find myself compulsively checking these parts of my body to ensure the bumps and boney parts are supposed to be there or if they're not, etc. I'm good one day then bad the next. I rarely have two good days in a row in fact I'm usually up and down all day. your advice will be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Putting your fears and concerns out in the open is a great release for anxiety sufferers so well done on the videos. Acceptance of anxiety and who you are at the moment is important. Not fighting, wishing it away, or getting caught up in how free you once were. Confronting meaning not avoiding what you fear most, but finding a systemetic way to tackle your fear of conversing with people, accepting symptoms of anxiety, overcoming panic attacks etc. There may be an unconscious belief that you are not capable of long term relief from anxiety, first thing that comes to my mind.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks too but I am scared that I am also gonna mistake my anxiety for something that actually has to do with my health. I did though go to the hospital 1 time and they said my heart and lungs were good and beautiful , and I went to a cardiologist and they did like 1 tests on me and they said I was also good , is this a good sign and should I not worry anymore or can heart conditions come whenever?

I tried medication, counseling, hypnosis, affirmation, research, and different breathing techniques. Oddly enough chiropractic, nutrition, and exercise led me to recovery. I don't believe they specifically fixed my anxiety, but they allowed me to believe that I was taking care of the health issue I believed I had. After a few months, it seems I forgot to be anxious. My anxiety evaporated. Now 2 years later, it came back like a Mac truck rolling over me from behind. So I'm looking for the cause so I can address it and tackle it. On a separate issue, I do have a question. You mentioned that nobody has died of anxiety. Ok, ya, that seems logical. But to flip it around, how many people have died because they thought it was only anxiety. I don't mean to be sarcastic, but this is the battle I have with my anxiety. Specifically heart and breathing. It's all fine and dandy to sit there doing your breath exercises and telling yourself it's nothing. But when you have had a lung spontaneously collapse and a father with a quad bypass at 40, it's hard to say, it's just anxiety. Daffy just sits there on your chest saying, "you sure? What if you're wrong this time?"

Jason P Hi Jason, the amygdala the part of your brain that is the boss that triggers sensations of anxiety needs signals from the cortex, the thinking brain to release the fight or flight response. Sensations are cause by a recognized or unconscious trigger internally (thoughts, beliefs) or an outside presence in some way. Your anxiety may have come back because you haven't dealt with the emotional memories from the past, core beliefs running on an endless loop. Or something that sets off your anxious response lately (because the amygdala works in pairings/associations). We have 60000 thoughts a day, anxious people tend to focus on the ones that keep them anxious because of the identity they have of themselves. Rational/positive focus on the different thoughts they have because they see themselves different as well. You may have gone from one identity during meditation etc (calmness, present, zen) to a whole new identity that causes you to focus on things that now keep you more anxious. Along with this let's understand health anxiety is health anxiety for someone because they've had a complete check up, and doctors can attest to nothing being wrong with the body itself. This is important, and those are the people this podcast is for along with the ones that make a mountain out of a molehill and experience GAD daily.

Soft Rider Amey all of what you said, is literally me, every day lately. We need to keep listening to positive messages of getting better. You need to keep telling yourself, you’re okay. You had the test done. It’s all in your head and not it’s time to tackle that. Time to tackle that voice and knock it down. Tell it to stop messing with your physical symptoms. I seen you posted this a year ago, how are you feeling today?

Most likely not going to receive a answer on this however Anxiety issues I had under control as you outlined, the sensations of water or soft spongy feeling in the head is holding me back. Checked it out and doctor claimed my brain is in tbi mode. Meds don't work what can I do next? Physically everyone and thing checks out.

Eddie Stack Honestly, the best way I’ve found to counter these kinds of metaphor based interpreting of bodily feelings, is through imagery focused NLP sessions. Literally, when a person begins taking that image of a sponge from their heads, and sees it shrink, disappear, or replaced, the subconscious mind understands. This is a valuable language to utilize, and I have a playlist called visual imagery sessions that will help. ❤️

Dennis, I find your video's very helpful and enlightening. However, there is one point that I personally struggle with and that's the base concept that the person with health anxiety is actually healthy. I have a panic disorder since I was very young, but lately my health anxiety has sky rocketed since I learned I have asthma, heart arrhythmia and some other problems with hypoglycemia and low blood pressure. Now I am afraid of dying of an asthma attack, not only a terrible fear but somehow a possibility. HOW TO DEAL WITH HEALTH ANXIETY WHEN YOU ARE NOT REALLY HEALTHY TO BEGIN WITH?
@TheAnxietyGuy1
@TheAnxietyGuy1 7 жыл бұрын
Catastrophic thinking plays a huge role with people who have no such health problems or if they do. Under every health concern is an emotional component, one that keeps people stuck. When we tackle the emotional side of things much of the health problems either fade on their own or are overcome through another process. First things first, you're not unhealthy. You're going through temporary challenges that may make you feel like you're unhealthy. Re-structuring the way you look at your current issues will create great momentum, and go a long way towards healing in every way.

So my question is I have been to the Er so many times I cant count them I went to the Er in August of this year 3 different times 3 different Ers and that's just in Aug. Everything came back normal chest xrays ekgs and troponin levels on my heart and pretty much everything else. And I've been to the cardiologist and he didnt do any test just listened to my heart said it's fine. So I still am worried about my heart. I've had aniexty since I can remember my dad beat my mother I seen it. Then my mother kinda catered to me and I was always a worrier. I started medication really early and I remember I was so scared to swallow pills she would put them in water so I could take them. Everytime I would freak out with aniexty she would take me to the hospital. My mother passed away 7 months ago. She was my rock and our back bone in the family. She was our mother and father. She had really bad aniexty too but she also had alot of health problems. Now I feel like I'm so much like her and do the stuff she does that I'm going to have all the problems she had too..

Krizzle Hannah Domingo Yes, my twitching started in May. It started with my tongue then I google my symptoms and diagnosed myself with ALS 🤦🏽‍♀️ then I went full on with twitching all over in my legs, lips, eyes, all over. I went to the ER and got an MRI and the guy asked me if I had anxiety which of course I do so now I just remind myself that everything is okay. Relax. It’s all just a reaction to stress and my thoughts.

Krizzle Hannah Domingo whatever you do.....DO NOT GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS!! It’s always worse case scenario on google and it’s often not the case. Try to just do something to get your mind off of that. Maybe walk or have a conversation with someone about a totally different subject and you’ll notice how worried you were for no reason. It helps me to watch these types of videos to know I’m not the only one experiencing this
